\n DISCLAIMER: I don't own Pokémon, but the OC's. If I did, Ash wouldn't be such girl, not to mention an immature child, and Brock would have some self-control (or he'd get the taser a few times...Okay, more than a few times...). I also don't own the US Army, USAROTC (United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corp), or the Gopher Battalion. Those all belong to the US government. I do however belong to all three.
\n\n Author's Note: A few songs that Nocturnal Lupus wrote fit this fanfic, which was completely unintentional. Listen to Medieval Melancholy for the entire prologue. I'll start each chapter with a song choice if there is one. Now on to the first chapter!
\n\n Pokémon: New World
\n\n Prologue: Lost at Sea
\n\n I slowly regained consciousness. The first thing that jumped to my attention was that everything hurt. Eventually the pain started to fade, and the next thing to come to my attention was that I seemed to be rocking. Up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right. I slowly open my eyes, only to have to shut them again due to the bright light. I then cautiously opened my eyes, opening them slow enough to let them get adjusted to the light, and looked around. I was stuck out in the middle of the ocean. I looked at what was holding me up, and saw one of those emergency life preservers from planes that are used during emergency landings in the water. I couldn't remember how I ended up in the ocean, but I could remember everything else.
\n\n My name is Cadet Eric Fischer, United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corp, otherwise known as AROTC or Army ROTC, Gopher Battalion located at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I'm Caucasian, six-foot-nothing (though according to the Army, some of my family are six-foot-one and I'm taller than they are), and 170 pounds. I have brown hair, hazel eyes, and glasses. The last thing I could remember was heading home after a weeklong vacation in Hawai'i.
\n\n I had just finished school before we went. I remembered the vacation clearly, and all of the fun my parents and I had; visiting the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, scuba diving in the Pacific Ocean, and a few other things. However, my mind blanked the moment we boarded the plane back home. I noticed an isle off in the distance. It looked close, but it was off on the horizon; probably a good twelve to fifteen miles away. I was a great swimmer, but I didn't know if I could make it that far. However, it looked like I didn't have much choice.
\n\n I checked the time and started swimming. I swam forward, good ol' fashion breaststroke. I trusted that the life vest would keep me afloat, so I focused on moving forward. I kept it slow. The point of this swim was not speed, but endurance.
\n\n The silence started to get to me so I started to call out cadence, and sing some songs that I had memorized:
\n\n "Hey, hey, Captain Jack!
\n Meet me down by the railroad track!
\n With that knife in your hand!
\n I'm gonna be a stabbing man!
\n The best I can!
\n For Uncle Sam!
\n Re-up, you're crazy!
\n Re-up, you're outta your mind!
\n Who said you're lazy!?
\n I said, you're crazy!"
\n After a few verses of that cadence, I moved on to another one, and then another, and then another. The Island didn't look any closer, but I knew I was making progress, at least that was what I told myself. It was hard to judge distance when there are no reference points. I felt my muscles protesting at the amount of abuse that they were being put through, but when it comes to do-or-die, they could take it.
\n\n Another thing I could feel was the sun. I knew I was suffering from exposure, not only to the freezing temperatures of the ocean water, but also to the harmful rays of the sun. It was a no-win situation for me, and I just had to tough it out. It was getting to be painful, but I knew that when I joined the Army, that there was a possibility of me being in pain, either from a wound or some other injury. I just gritted me teeth and pushed through it.
\n\n I looked at the watch I had on, luckily waterproof to 200 meters, and noticed that I had been swimming for a good three hours solid. Part of me begged for a break, but I knew to stop could mean that I'd die. With that thought in mind, I continued forward. Minutes dragged by, and the island didn't look any closer. Then those minutes dragged into hours, and finally, it looked like I was making some progress. My arms and legs had gone numb from the cold and the abuse they suffered. I was glad that I was swimming the whole way, as that exercise warmed my body; however, I was slowly running out of energy as adrenaline slowly gave way to exhaustion. The island looked really close now, just a mile or two away. I glanced at my watch, three more hours had past. I then noticed that my responsiveness was starting to become sluggish, and that I was shivering very badly. I stepped up the pace to try and make it to the island as quick as I could.
\n\n I really sped up, as it took me only about forty-five minutes to reach the beach. My legs wouldn't support me when I got to the shore, so I just dragged myself onto the beach. I was shivering so badly that I knew I was suffering from hypothermia and that it was starting to get extremely bad. I noticed that the edges of my vision were starting to go black, and I fought off the exhaustion that had suddenly hit me hard with all of my waning strength. I tried to drag myself off the beach and into some shade to try and get some shelter from the sun, but it proved too much. My vision went black and I was out cold before my head even hit the sand.

Hooray for strange creatures that seem to be able to use attacks that cause more damage than modern military weaponry :D
The first part confused me a little, though. Was he on a life raft or just a life preserver? I thought you might mention something about waking up wet and cold if it was the latter.
It's one of those mind tricks of adapting to an environment that humans are so good at. When you've been in water for a long period of time, you don't feel wet any more, and you start to forget about the temperature of the water. By the time I woke up, I had already adapted to the temperature of the water and the feeling of water against my skin; and the feel/drag of the wet clothes I was in.
lol, I'm just kidding (for those who can't tell, and/or are as blind as a stump). I do have one question, when does the AFROTC do any PT? I have only seen the AFROTC do PT once, and that was THREE cadets (most likely on was actually Cadre, due to the beer belly). What was even better was that the slowest AROTC Cadet was lapping the fastest AFROTC cadet (the one with the beer belly, ironically).
Although, the Specter I could see, just back sure it isn't biodesel. I don't want to have to smell that thing flying over my AO, and tip off all of the bad guys that I need to turn into red grease stains.
So we have some soldats here.
Sorry, typing using phone.
And by "fun" I mean "fun" by dodging cut-throat reporters that actively look for any type of mistake to document, "report," and blow completely out of proportion.
Now it is just for the views.
Back it Nam, from what I heard, the reporters were genuine in their feelings.
Today, a reporter could care less.
their ways. And before you decide to click that button that is called "Block", they are the minority. At least from what I hear.
Prison guards in the Middle East however, that is a different story.
I hear bad things about them, usually via a search on Google, Youtube, whatever.
But since you are in the military yourself, can you clarify?
*THIS IS MY OPINION. NOT THE OFFICIAL STANCE OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY, THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY, THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, OR THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT*
We have rules on how to treat EPWs (Enemy Prisoners of War). The biggest problem is that the people we are fighting are terrorists, and religious zealots at that. There are select few people that break the rules. Now I understand, these people do not follow the same rules we do. They are not going to get punished for beheading a US soldier by there superiors, only by us. These terrorist are everything we soldiers are not. So some dislike the fact that we treat them the same as we would treat enemy soldiers. So they break the rules are do bad things to them. Normally they get punished, and the media would not get wind of it, as why would it be any of their business. The reason it is such "big" new is that you have reporters who are trying to make the military look bad. They take a small isolated incident and blow it all out of proportion. For the most part (dare I say about 90%) treat the EPWs as required, boh by law and what would be considered more than they deserve. Some treat them only to what they are required by law, and are not happy about it. Even fewer treat them as the media, mainstream media I mean, says we treat all prisoners. The media is extremely biased against the military. Look at history, and you'll find tons of examples where the media and the military have been at complete odds.
Since black and white cameras were available...
Anyway, I have to say, on topics like this, I am usually divided.
Right now, I am trying to control myself from saying something stupid, offensive otherwise.
Example: So you are saying we should just gut them and kill them all? I say kill their children, inferior scum. They do not deserve to live. (Um... Blame Hitler for that comment...)
Ex.2 Who's idea in the Geneva convention was it to treat terrorist as equals?
(Technically, when we were fighting the british, our actions could be classified as terrorism.)
Ex.3 So basically, it is okay to treat them like crap? Why not "re-educate" them in the finer points of civility? Then again, they are religious dumbfucks, just as the christians and jews are.
Yeah, this is just the tip of the ice berg unfortunately. Though I don't mean it in the long run of things.
Response to Ex 1.) Yeah, terrorist (by definition of blowing themselves up without being concerned for civi casualties) don't deserve to live, but we have to take EPWs anyway.
Response to Ex 2.) I'm not sure. Probable the same people in the UN for spit on their biggest supporter. (We followed a certain code of conduct. We didn't go around randomly blowing people up. We only attacked enemy combatants, not innocent civilians. While we were traitorous to the King of Britain, we weren't quite today's terrorist.)
Response to Ex 3.) Nope, treat them like criminals. However, I'd remove the religious comment. I myself am Christian (I even have this place edited as much as possible with the filter on clean. I'm a no-yiff furry. One of the very few around these parts.), and I am getting a college education. If you were serious about something like this, it would warrant a block in my opinion; however we both aren't being serious so no block.
*Cough* Say what?! Apologizes then sir.
Sorry, though in some ways, I do mean it.
Me being an agnostic, I take a look at history for what religion has done to help the world.
What have I found out? Not. A. Damn. Thing.
At least as far as I am concerned.
(NOTICE: However, there is also a reason why I am not an atheist. A god or gods could lurk out there, plus perhaps religion is doing some good I guess.)
When you remove all that minor stuff?
They are the same freaking thing!
Thou shall not kill and so forth.
But since we are not being serious about this stuff, let the jokes fly, as long as I don't turn this into a flame war, I am happy.
Plus, we'll all find out what comes to truth in the afterlife. Or will we? This should make for a good story. Hehe.
And I agree, I probably never go into politics either. In the long run, you'll get nothing done. No matter what you do, someone will always hate your decision.
The only president as far as I am concerned that everyone could agree with is George Washington himself.
By the way, what are you doing on this site that host pornographic and sexual material? Shouldn't this offend you in any way? (Apologizes if I am getting out of hand.
Just say the word, and I will stop said action that is offensive.)
Actually, if you look at what's important to each religion, you'll find that they are quite different (Islam vs Christianity for example. If you do the research, there are quite a few differences, enough to say the Allah and God are completely different.) However, you are right that they share a lot of things. It's easier to keep a lie hidden from the light, if there is just as much truth to what you are saying as there is falsehood.
I found a few good clean stories that I liked to read. I keep it clean and will, in no way, support the site financially due to the allocation of memory to pornographic content. If that changes to only porn, then I'll leave. If it changes to no porn, then I'll support it.
I also want to show that there are some furries out there that don't like/want the whole "yiff" stigma the surrounds the fandom. While the yiff portion does offend me, I stay out of it. If you ask me my opinion on it, I'll tell you. If you don't ask, then hopefully you'll see it in my conduct. (AKA being the light in the dark)
Think of me as the man that stands outside an abortion clinic that just talks calmly, with evidence, about how wrong it is. I don't try to jam it down your throat, but I just talk and try to show you why it's wrong. If I'm ignored, well that was to be expected, and will pray that the baby's soul will be found innocent of any sin in God's eyes. If I'm listen to, then I rejoice that I was able to save not just one life, but possible two.
Reasons being are, one man may betray his wife, engaging in acts that may make said man cheat on said wife.
Not to mention, this one is may offend you, but just for curiosity sake, do you have anything against gays. (I just hope I didn't ask the wrong question...)
Hate the sin, love the sinner. I'm just as guilty as they are and deserve the exact same punishment.
I've had lustful thoughts, I've murdered (as in had hostile thoughts toward someone, which is the same as murdering them in your heart), I've lied, I've coveted, I've dishonored my parents, I've sworn, and that's when compared to the Mosaic Law (which I, as a Christian, do not need to follow, study Hebrews if you really want to know the reason for that, and I don't mean by just reading it. It's too big of a topic to discuss in something like this). The gays have committed adultery, at least.
In God's eyes, even the slightest of those things require the punishment of eternal death, and total separation from him. God doesn't see one sin any worse than another. He cannot stand any sin in His presence. So me and the two gays are equal in that. We both are doomed to die and burn in Hell.
I hate to sound like I'm a "bible-thumper," but this is what I believe. Also, I'm not trying to say that I'm better than anyone else. As far as innocents goes, I'm on par with Hitler, and Saddam.
The only reason I have the hope to be able to be with God in Heaven, is because of the core belief in Christianity. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who lived a sinless life, died a sinner's death. A death on a cross was at the time, the worst way to die. He died so that I might live. That all who believe, and ask for forgiveness, can live. Once you die, it will be too late.
I'm going to stop here,as I feel like I'm starting to give a sermon to those who don't want to hear one.
So if you don't mind me asking... Well, just read it. I just hope this will not inevitable lead to a block on my part. But anyhow, ONWARD!)
Meh, I don't mind.
But if he does indeed exist,
I hope he changes all these laws.
They may have worked in the past, but today... They just don't work.
Not to mention dare I say, the He may be just the worst sinner in all of history.
Blasphemy you may say. But is all of this suffering necessary? Why did he create us?
We, as far as I am concerned, are useless to him in every way. Dare I say again, he is comparable to Lucifer himself. Speaking of which, instead of banishing him, which he then becomes the ruler of Hell, he should have wiped out any thoughts of resistance.
That way, none of this would have ever happened.
Not to mention, it was a mistake in his part to give us freedom. Reason being, all we will do is sin. Not to mention, Pokemon can technically be consider comparable to worship the worst of anything itself. It has beings that created the very Earth itself, at least the Pokeverse. So doesn't this make the creators of Pokemon, in other words,
Gamefreak all sinners?

So says this guy.
As far as I am concerned, above according with your comment, this guy is wrong. We're all going to Hell anyhow, so no matter what we do, we are damned to Hell, making whoever said people actually go to Heaven is a myth. Nothing more nothing less. So why bother trying to save ourselves and others when we can't even go to Heaven?
And where do those who commit suicide go? From what I hear, you see only nothing.
Seems better then Hell, that much is for certain.
This brings up another point, why is He filling us with ideas of these false gods?
It will only lead to bloodshed.
Are we just his play things? Just so we can do what we can to survive just for his pleasure? This much is for certain the moment I die. I will demand him to change all of this, even if it mean't that I suffer something far worse then Hell. As long as it serves so none of this happened, at least it will be for a good cause.
Hatred, Sadness, Negative, Sorrow, Pain...
All of that gone. No, we wouldn't need to worry about anything. We would not worry about death. But instead, history tells us otherwise.
So in other words, no one has nothing to lose once they sinned. In fact, just being born is a sin.
As for Adam and Eve....
Why didn't Lucifer just killed them instead?
Eve would never have gotten the apple, so sin would never have existed. If God is all almighty, then he should have just thought Adam, Eve, and Lucifer gone. Then there would be no problem.
This brings another point, any logical God would have thought of this before hand, and since they are always perfect, so too should anything they create.
I can still go on, but I have about five paragraphs worth of text. So now then.
Let the flame war being. Or me begone.
Choice words, one's flame.
Thy shall harbor a fiery spirt.
And cleanse all who are evil.
Bring light to dark.
May illa lacuna addo per lemma they es magis tunc iustus putus Vouiar.
I'll continue this tomorrow (or today in my case), need some sleep before I get into an explanation this long. Be back in a few hours. (Sleeeeeppppp......) *falls onto bed and is unconscious before the fall*
I was about to send you a good reply when it crashed! Of all the time.
Took time too!
*Looks at the still sleeping form of Champ.*
Heavy sleeper aren't ya?
Very well then,
we shall continue this pleasant conversation tomorrow then.
This should at least brighten your day my good lad.

Thing is, as Christians, we don't need to follow the rules in Exodus, Leviticus, and anything related to the old Mosaic Law. We have a new Covenant that we are supposed to follow. If you study the New Testament (again, not just reading it) you'll see that the New Covenant is better than the old one. So we don't need to follow the, "No work on Sunday (FKA the Sabbath day)" rule. So in essence the old laws have been changed. One of the many reasons we still study the Old Testament, in regards to the Mosaic Law, is to show how much better the New Covenant is.
God doesn't create the suffering. Sin, as explained by Saint Augustine, is the absence of God, like cold is the absence of heat and darkness is the absence of light. We caused the suffering ourselves. Adam's and Eve's mistake caused us to become fallen creatures. He created us to worship and love him. He also gave us free will to do so. Before you ask for the reason why, Isiaha 55:9 (using the NIV translation) states, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." This was during the point where Israel was in Exile, and they were asking God why they were driven out of the Promise Land. We won't know a lot of the reasons why God does the things he does, or allows things to happen, until we get to ask him face to face.
Pokemon is the product of a fallen world, so of course it has something other than the Creation story in it's background/history. I don't agree with all of the "Legendary Pokemon created the world" stuff. Actually in this story, that stuff (if I do bring it up) will either get "debunked" [plenty of holes to poke] in some way/shape/form/ or I'll just leave it out entirely (which is more likely. I'll keep my writing Clean and Christian, but I'm not going to force stuff things/ideas down peoples throat.). I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet. The reason I'm writing about it is just because it has a good place to host a story, and I like the story. Key thing is that it is all fiction, not an ounce of fact, and to introduce a large amount of realism into the story changes a lot of things. Including how the world was created. And yes, every human on earth is a sinner. There is no human on earth that is guiltless. We can be forgiven of our sins, and become guiltless in God's eyes. The reason we can be forgiven is because Jesus Christ, the only human (as he is fully man, as well as fully God) to have ever lived a perfect life, died a sinner's death. His sacrifice paid for our sins, so long as we have a loving relationship with him.
Also on what the Youtube video was about...I think he is a little bit of an alarmest. He is right to a certain extent, but I think he is taking it a bit far. I would like to hear the whole sermon, which the Youtube video did not do (so it's not good evidence). It was edited to show an agenda, which is the worst thing about any kind of discussion like we are having. People don't take the time to look up solid sources, that are just straight facts (I don't mean just you, but more general in the world of politics and such). Everything has been edited, suddenly, to fit someone's agenda. Like who the video ended. It showed him in the middle of something, which they never tell us what was before the line and after the line, and he said, "don't think." That can mean so many things. Part of my ROTC training is to react to sudden situations, so in other words, I "don't think" about what I just did. When I heard some yell incoming during a STX, I dove for cover without thinking, which is a good thing. That reaction, if this was the real world and not training, might have just saved my life. I would say not to trust anything that group puts out without some more trustworthy sources to back it up. (If you can't tell, this kind of thing is a pet peeve of mine. I hate it when people edit things, that could be totally innocent, to suit their agendas.)
God doesn't fill us with the ideas of false gods. That's Lucifer's handy work. Lucifer wants to deceive us and destroy God's beautiful and perfect work. He showed that repeatedly throughout history. God loves us enough to send his one and only Son to die for us.
We are born with what is called, "Original Sin." It's the reason why we sin since birth.
Why Lucifer didn't kill them is unknown. Maybe cause he knew that way, he gets the shaft right away. The way he did it he's going to, unfortunately, have a lot of company when he gets tossed into the pits of hell. Really, I don't deal (at least in my mind) with a lot of "why did this person do that?" I deal more with the consequences of such actions. What someone's thought process was when they chose an action is not a skill I posses.
The reason why God gave us free will, is something we can only guess at. Until we ask him ourselves, we'll never know. The reason he didn't start over after Adam and Eve sinned is because He loves us. He also made a promise that we could be saved, the first prophecy in Genesis 3:15.
Response Paragraph 1
How is the new Testament better then
the original Old one? Mind you, originally the first Christians were jews who branched off.
I should also mention this, in one part of the Bible, it tells that you must sell EVERYTHING that you own in your possession. Leave you bare and penniless.
Not to mention this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2Kh-xzerjE
Which Christianity would one believe then?
There are simply too many variations.
Which is the right one to follow? Like the roll of the dice, you must choose only one, not all, or thus you'll be damned in too many ways to count. As for Sin, the reason why I say He created Sin... Well, He is the Creator of everything correct? Even Lucifer is also his creation. As for our unlovely couple Adam and Eve, as far as I am concerned, God should have interfered in our mortal life, and killed Lucifer for such an act.
That way, we would not have to go on these bloody charades. By the way, have you ever considered that Satan is also manipulating the Bible in his sinful ways? It is simply not possible for just a lone book to be kept intact for many millennia.
As for he saying that only when we die, then we shall know why, I say that is just plain arrogance. If there was a higher being then God himself, I would say, I am not impressed how things have gone. If we are his children, then he should take care of us as such, meaning, destroying Hell itself, erasing Lucifer and his followers when they rebelled instead of banishing them and preventing any of this nonsense from ever occurring. In fact, I we wouldn't be disputing over this for that matter. As for accusing us for something that we had no control over, that is like accusing the germans that they are all nazis and deserve to die the most agonizing way possible. It seems to make death at birth and Armageddon preferable to some degree.
As for things being destroyed by Satan, tarnishing all things perfect, let me say this.
A perfect mirror is never tarnished, no matter what you do to it. Thus following, anything God creates should be able to be perfect no matter what. If he created a flawed design like that... It should speak for itself. Also, we are technically all of his sons and daughters, not just Christ himself.
I am also that anyone from your faith would state that all are born with Adam's original sin. In fact, I watched a documentary detailing the history of religion on that. The person who wrote that converted to his mother's religion on her deathbed after she died. What a little cleansing wouldn't help with. It should be that simple in God's eyes.
And is it fair that we suffer a Hell forever yet he still loves us? That is like saying you love your family, only to torture them, rape them, hurt them in the worst way possible.
Hmm, I have to say I agree with you on that.
Don't worry about it. Everyone has their pet peeves. Just practice on getting rid of it, and you should be fine. Speaking of which, I am directing you towards a good friend of mine.
http://www.3rdpanzergrenadierdivision.org/apps/profile/42421691/
As for how to describe him... Thats that hard part. But he has plenty of wisdom under his belt, so if you ever got the time, check it out.
Huh, who does posses the skill?
Perhaps I am just over examining this too much. *Sigh* It is just that, I would like to believe him. But then I take a look at the world, and the consequences that not just Christianity, but religion as a whole have affected our way of life as well as others through the passage of time.
Why is it that He created us?
As I said before, we don't provide anything to him. I can only say, that the universe to him is also so vast, that even he is still learning. Not to mention, there maybe more powerful forces at work, best to keep us ignorant for our own safety.
As for the prophecy, Couldn't he just replicated them from scratch? Certainly would be easier to do then wait for millennia for the day we are saved.
But then again, perhaps we misinterpreted
things, within and out the Bible. And God surely must know, why we question his judgement? What problems Thy have with things that he finds sinful? What is wrong with having knowledge?
I am who I am because I question.
I judge those by their actions, not how a book judges them. Just because I am agnostic doesn't mean I am a heartless tool of the devil. But then again, perhaps it could be said that the devil was created as a counter balance to balance things out.
A middle section if you will. Hell and Satan may have been misinterpreted over times passing. In the jewish religion, Satan is the teacher and Hell is the place where sinful souls are purified. In a way, he judges souls if they are in need of repair. Then for twelve months, they stay in Hell, then are reborn, until they do good and go to Heaven.
But anyhow, it has been a very pleasant discussion with you Champ11, and I look forward to talking about more then just our beliefs. Keep up the good work, and I will look forward to the next chapter of this well done series.
Good tidings and Great compassion be with you mate.
Yours truly,
SamPD.
Especially since all qurrals seem to be fought WITH pokemon, and not guns.
So what do you think about it?
EDIT: Wait until Chapter Five. The world of Pokemon will never be the same *insert evil laughter*
But other than that: Keep up the good work. And thanks, and just for you: Semper Fi.
BTW: I'm not using any Marine slang, just what I've used in the Army ROTC. I won't dive into any of the hardcore slang (or try to use as much regular slang), but it wouldn't be a military fic with some good ol' fashion SNAFU and some minor slang along the way, especially when conversing with confused civies.
Duty, Honor, Country. (Really wish that the Army had a better motto than this...at least you can use Semper Fi as a battle cry [rhyme not intended])
