Here's my new recording setup. I've had the laptop since last summer, but the keyboard just came yesterday. I thought I'd upload a photo for those of you who may be interested in such things. The keyboard is a Yamaha Motif XF8. I record through my laptop using either Sonar X-1 Essential or Cubase AI 5. When I'm writing something of a more classical vein and need sheet music, I use Sibelius 7. Since Sibelius 7 has some amazing sound samples (40GB stock), I occasionally run ReWire as a VST plugin in Sonar and have Sibelius play accompaniment for me. I hope to get Pro Tools at some point, but for now I'm satisfied with what I've got.
