Weathering The Storm
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Actually, this piece was completed during a thunderstorm yesterday. Spent more time thinking about the elements in this piece, than actually drawing it out. The colouring process took almost 7 hrs. A simple concept, but with plenty of meaning for self. First piece to start practicing eraser techniques to recreate light and cloud effects. Doesn't look too bad for a first try using an eraser pen, but still plenty of space for improvements... *Looking at the clouds...*
My drawing pacing would be slightly unsteady for this period, still settling into a new life with studies. Already planning for the next piece in the series, just needing to dedicate a healthy balance of time between studies and hobbies.
UPDATE:
I don't know what's up, and is this related to the recent conflict on the headlines or not... I looked at the picture today, and it was following the trend of colour choice... A Déjà Vu? Take note: I drew these pieces out of my subconscious, which may surprise my conscious self when relatable things surface in the future.
Yes, I was heavily hurt within to see the conflict unfolding, but also aware of the great picture down the line of history. It's a conflict between authoritarianism and democracy, which was slipping under the world's view for decades. I agree that totalitarianism is not good on the extremes, but even democracy has extremes. When these two confront and any side gives way to radical acts, anyone stuck in between gets all the crossfire.
Was this a coincidence? The uncertainty was fading with each time I look at this piece. It even shared my period of doubt and questioning with my drawing paralysis during the first few days with the start of the conflict. After I finally leaned towards a general side (the people of the country) and disregarding the stupidity of both political parties, the mental block disappeared and this picture came out.
Now everything just clicked together to the point that I couldn't question further.
So yes, this picture was a symbol of freedom, maybe directed towards the people of that country by my subconscious. They weather the storm of political idiocy by hypocritical idiots that held onto history for far too long. They couldn't even keep their own promises for peace. Anyone that sees this update I posted, this piece was finally fully understood by myself, and I would use it as a tribute to show my support to the freedom of souls stuck in this mess.
Me'Zelf is a symbol himself, the manifestation of my free soul.
*Blue is the colour of Truth,
Yellow is the colour of Hope,
Red is the colour of Courage,
Flashing with the Sky Blue of Freedom,
In a background with many shades of Grey.*
