Pack Behavior: The Hunt
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Trepidation at the thought of going to jail filled the driver's heart with an anxiety like no other, and thus he began to swerve the truck from side to side, completely ignoring whatever might have been beside or behind him in an effort to try and dissuade the lucario and midnight lycanroc from chasing after him, but all of his efforts were for naught, that was just how focused the pair were on their current mission. The others in the back shouted at him to be more careful, as they were losing their loot following them behind unbuckled within the back, but they were ignored, though not by RipRaff as the red and white wolf licked his tongue along the side of his bloody snout as he thought about filling his stomach with more flesh tonight. Catching up to the truck, this happening seemed to have been a very likely possibility, as once the midnight lycanroc and lucario got their claws into the side of the truck they instantly dug their paws into the ground, tearing up the concrete from the force of their sudden halt, and then turned as one together to the right. Instantly everyone within the truck was thrown to the side as the combined strength of the two lycanthropes forced the still moving vehicle up off of the ground and then onto its side. The spinning of the wheels screeched against the road like a crying banshee as the driver, who was still desperate to get away, continued to hit on the gas.
RipRaff let out a wickedly delightful chuckle as he could smell the fear wafting from out of the interior of the metal box that now held fresh, living meat inside of it. His stomach grumbled as his glowing crimson eyes locked onto one partially delicious looking morsel that was whimpering out a groan of pain from where they were twisted around ass up against the newly made floor of the truck. Stalking forward, the midnight lycanroc tore his talons into the side of the steel hard enough to make it squeal in defeat, thus making the humans instantly shake their head and then turn around to look at the red and white wolf. The sight of the other's bestial eyes glinting with feral hunger made everyone pull back as best they could, but without something to intervene on their behalf there would be no stopping the hungry lycanthrope from having his fill tonight.
Blessed be Arceus that said intervention came in the form of a black fist knocking the midnight lycanroc back onto his ass.
The red and white wolf barked low and deep as he looked at his assailant, however Larc was totally unphased and instead stepped up and then onto the other lycanthrope's massive chest. Grinding his foot down into the almost spiky fur, the black and gold alpha snarled down at RipRaff loud and deep, the were-lucario making it quite clear that human meat was not on tonight's menu. The midnight lycanroc let out his own echoing howl in challenge of this statement, but before the message could become clear between the pair the two canines heard the familiar sounds of metal being popped and electric energy sizzling within the night air.
The humans, both caked with fear for their lives, and desperation at not wanting to spend any time in jail, sent out all of their pokemon against the duo. The darkened street soon became swarmed with nearly twenty pokemon, all of whom were in between being shaken by what they had just seen not more than five minutes ago and want to protect their masters, and yet this didn't change the odds in their favor as Carl pulled his foot from off of the downed midnight lycanroc's chest an then turned to face the downed truck and the onyx that was circling around it. RipRaff, not happy about what had just happened but unwilling to show defeat, stood up and moved next to the blue and gold alpha. Side to side, the pair towered over most of the other pokemon within the air, and yet with the silver moon shining over them, giving them a shadowed cloak that was only accentuated by their glowing crimson eyes, the pair seemed like giants in the presence of ants as they wrinkled their lips over their drooling fangs at the same time they raised their hands to crack their respective knuckles.
A block with his right leg against a sudden kick from a hitmonlee was followed with an open palmed thrust which knocked the fighting type pokemon into the side of a pair of closed dumpsters. Ducking down, Larc was just able to miss a large spray of cold water being shot out from a wartortle's lips. Turning on his heel, Larc zigzagged around several other sprays which came from the water type pokemon up until he was right within the pokemon's personal space. Once he was in range, the lycanthrope sent an uppercut into the blue turtle's chin just as it prepared to fire another rush of cold water at him. Kicking the wartortle after it dropped down from the sky, but just before its body could hit the ground, Larc made sure to target the coiled onyx, thus letting the other know that it would not be able to avoid the fight in question, something that the stone serpent responded to with an wailing roar of indignation.
For his part, Ripraff found himself chuckling in restrained amusement at the show of grace and poise that came from the other alpha male; he didn't see a point in being so formal with his movements and instead grabbed whatever opponent he could and then smashed them into whatever object just so happen to be nearby, if this just so happened to be another pokemon that was fine with the midnight lycanroc, as these were nothing more than enemies of the pack, and thus they deserved only his ire and resentment, of which they had in spades.
For their part both Larc and Rip-Raff were moving as one as they chased down the truck that they had been sent after. The two lycanthropes didn’t care that they were following the machine outside of the city limits, that was actually something of a benefit to the pair as it would allow them to have a bit of fun with the humans while not having to be worried about the consequences thereafter. Pouncing as one the were-lucario and midnight lycanroc landed on top of the truck which inadvertently caused the driver to let up off of the gas and swerve the driving wheel. The eight hundred pound canines were not thrown off as would have been expected, instead they dug their claws into the metal and then dropped down low so as to evenly distribute the weight of their bodies.
Once the truck was somewhat stable again both Larc and Rip-Raff looked to each other and then nodded.
Stepping across the top of the vehicle the fighting-steel type lycanthrope hopped down onto the hood of truck. This move completely crushed the front end of the vehicle, though thankfully didn’t cause it to explode...somehow. The driver, stunned by this, was literally scared witless when the the blue and gold canine turned to smile at him. It was the sound of metal being torn open back behind him that prevented him from losing his bladder however.
Rip-Raff, now very grateful that the strange human’s machine had come to a stop, ripped the top of truck open and then dumped himself into the box car. The Team Rocket members within the darkened interior screamed as they saw crimson eyes lasering over each and everyone of them. The sound of fleshing being hit resounded throughout the interior of the metal box for several seconds before all was silent.
The human driving the truck, realizing that he was on his own now, threw open the door of the now destroyed vehicle in order to avoid the clawed hand which had punched through the windshield in order to grab him. Larc was slightly amused by this as he pulled his undamaged arm back in order to chase after the fleeing man. The Team Rocket member quickly came to the conclusion that he was not going to be able to escape the monstrous lucario on foot, and so reached down onto his belt to draw up one of his pokeballs. Clicking the center button on the marble sized sphere the human turned just in time to see Larc stepping up behind him.
Shouting out loud the human jumped back and then unleashed his pokemon from his black and red pokeball without thought.
A bright array of white light revealed a slightly incensed charizard standing in between man and lucario. The human didn’t think twice as he ordered the fire-flying type pokemon to expel a stream of fire at the other. Though slightly annoyed the charizard did as commanded, puffing its chest up and then unleashing a roar of flame at Larc. Jumping to the side the fighting-steel type lycanthrope was able to get himself out of harm’s way just as the orange inferno soared past him. Another shout from the human followed with Larc having to dive to the side for a second time, though this time the heat from the attack was able to brush past him slightly. Sweat quickly pooled up all across his fur during the third attack, and yet instead of being concerned by this the were-lucario skidded to the side and then drew his hands together; a bright blue orb grew within his black paws to form a soccer ball sized aura sphere. The Team Rocket member tried to tell his charizard to dodge but once Larc thrust the ball of energy forward the sphere seemed to have missile guided accuracy as it hit the fire lizard into the chest hard enough to send it crashing back into the human.
The pair flew for several yards before landing together in a tangled heap of limbs. Larc chuckled at this, clearly thinking that the battle was over, but he was pleasantly surprised to find the charizard getting up off of the human as if he had only been love tapped by a venonat. Turning around the fire-flying type pokemon picked its human up off of the ground and then smacked the dazed man onto the cheek in order to call him back to reality. The Team Rocket member shook his head and then shouted at the other. After that the pair spent the next minute arguing with one another before the charizard turned to point at the now cross armed were-lucario. Seeing that Larc was waiting on them the pair put aside their differences as the man drew something out of his pocket.
Larc watched as the human slipped something over the charizard’s arm before locking its twin onto his own wrist. After that the fire lizard walked out in front of his human and then got himself into fighting position. The Team Rocket member crossed his arms together and then closed his eyes. In seconds the pair were enveloped within a bright cascade of light which forced Larc to shield his eyes. Moments later a deafening roar spilt the darkening sky. Blinking his crimson eyes the were-lucario found himself looking at a black version of the once orange colored charizard, blue flames licking out both sides of his maw as he stared in rage at the fighting-steel type lycanthrope. Larc chuckled at the fire-dragon type pokemon even as he drew himself back into a fighting stance.
The human shouted a command and the charizard breathed in deep before releasing a spiraling five pointed flame from its maw. Larc knew he should have gotten out of the way, he could actually see that the blue flames charring the grass beneath it as though the ground were nothing more than a matchstick to it, however some part of him felt that he had to take on this challenge. So there he stood even as he was swallowed alive by the fire blast.
Once nothing could be seen of the other the human roared in victory however his shout of joy was cut short by his pokemon as a black image stepped out from the towering azure inferno.
Larc...was in pain. He really was. Actually that was a lie. In truth he felt as though he were about to die; his body was all but screaming at him for being so stupid, however some dark feral part of his mind couldn’t help but laugh out loud at what he had just done.
The Team Rocket member gaped like a magikarp as he watched the scorched lucario step forward without breaking stride once. Before he could think to react the fighting-steel type was in motion. Charging ahead like a bullet Larc was inside of the charizard’s personal sphere before the other could blink. A firm punch to the dragon’s gut made sparks shoot from the other’s mouth, yet the were-lucario gave the reptile no break as he punched the dragon again, and again, and again until soon his fists were blurry shadows pummeling into the mega evolved pokemon’s body. A final hard punch made the black dragon skid backwards and then fall onto one knee, its maw open in breathless pants as it desperately tried to draw in air. Larc paid this no mind as he continued to stalk forward, his crimson eyes glittering in a mad sense of joy.
A shout from the human had the dragon flapping its wings so as to lift itself up into the air before the fighting-steel type could lay another hand on him. Larc looked up as his opponent soared within the orange tinted sky above him, a deep scowl covering its scaled face. The were-lucario merely smiled back before he turned to look to the charizard’s human, a frightening smirk pulling at the edge of his lips. The charizard roared loudly at that, yet just as it was puffing its chest up to shoot another blast of blue fire at Larc a large something grabbed it by the throat. The were-lucario didn’t have to look as he knew exactly what had just happened with the creature and instead stalked over to the human.
The Team Rocket member didn’t know what to do as it was torn between fleeing for his life and watching how his longtime friend was being beaten down from the sky by a familiar looking midnight lycanroc. The choice was ultimately taken from him when Larc tackled him to the ground. The man fought to try and get away however the weight of the gargantuan lucario was too much for him. When yellowed fangs gleamed down into his face the man found himself going through an almost out of body experience as some part of him realized that he was going to die now. Looking to the side he gaped right as a black fist collided with his face.
Watching as the human’s eyes rolled up into his head as unconsciousness overcame him Larc found himself snorting in annoyance. A sudden crash nearby drew his attention to the right. The fighting-steel type lycanthrope growled loud enough to shake the ground as he noted that the charizard was now back to its normal state and that Rip-Raff was about to bite down onto the unconscious fire lizard’s throat. A sharp bark drew the feral wolf’s attention away from his would-be snack. Crimson eyes stared into each other as the two alphas let their wills crash against each other.
For several seconds nothing was said as the pair scowled at one another.
Finally Rip-Raff relented, if only because his stomach decided to grumble up at him.
