Jake has a nasty habit of driving people away from him, and he hates everything. So few can put up with him, and stay at his side as friends because he's so hard to get along with. Jake gets frustrated a lot of things; one of them being that the fact that Gwen has been nothing but kind to him, and only wishes to take away some of his anger. It confuses the Hell out of him, because he initially thought she was just being nice to get something from him. Nope. Gwen just doesn't mind being around Jake. Sure, they get into arguments, but she never speaks to him with contempt or spite. She just wants to be his friend.
