A portrait of Niaznu Slipscale, a kirin-dragon hybrid, as he stands atop a high place contemplating the world below him. He is fascinated by the traditions and practices of his mother's people--the kirin--and this is consciously reflected in his Eastern style of dress and his philosophical positions. Though well aware that he's a hybrid and will never truly be a kirin himself, he nonetheless strives to understand and embody their ideals of restraint, honor, and harmony.
