I think you're describing GINO, aka Zilla...not really GODzilla. GINO is not Godzilla.

That is Godzilla.

Which was more or less what I was aiming for. Mire-Goji suit had more spiny scales to it, and Legendary Goji has the bulk. The only GINO aspect of this image is its coloration and the eyes.

Also, 225+ people on tumblr that has trend the shit outta that image for the last 4 hours might disagree with you as well.

I'm beginning to see that their opinion holds more weight. The T-rex thing really is what GINO looks like, and it isn't what Godzilla looks like.

If anything else, Godzilla is more or less supposed to look like someone who just received painful radiation burns.

The shape isn't bad but I agree the shaggy appearance of the scales after the ridges start to break up is a little off-putting.

I would say good. Hell if you watch the first movie, Godzilla doesn't look this good. The rubber suit went through a lot of changes over the years. He did have a thinner neck in the first movie. Neither of the two American made movies really got him right compared to the Japanese versions... Tried to make him to realistic in the 1998 movie with Matthew Broderick, which Japan made fun of in Final Wars when the antagonist makes the "Tuna head" comment. And the latest one, released in 2014 the poor guy is twice as tall and almost three times as heavy.

And a lot of people have their own versions of him. Like this one, which also has more angular scales like your version of him

Lots of fan art out there for the big guy. So don't worry too much about the critics. If anyone can look at it and instantly think it is Godzilla, then you did fine.

And really, the 2014 Godzilla is only 5 meters taller than Heisei Godzilla. Legendary is 104 meters, and Heisei was around 100 meters.

But Legendary is heavier, since Heisei was 80 thousand tons and Legendary is around 95 thousand tons.

Tetsu-Goji, that is the Godzilla I drew, is 123 meters tall and around 150 thousand tons.

I had to figure out bone density as well as what material his bones would be made of to make this guy work. And I went off of Neltharion logic, because Neltharion uses the Square-Cubed law to his favor despite his enormous size.

Neltharion is 500 meters tall to the shoulder and weighing around 13 million metric tons. About as much as every fat person on planet Earth combined. I checked.

So, to make this Godzilla, I had to figure out how Neltharion is capable of supporting his weight. And it has to do with his density. Square-Cubed says that the thing must be denser to support the added weight. That's why something like Neltharion who is 500 meters tall, 1400 meters long has to be 13 million metric tons.

In reality, even Heisei Godzilla would not be able to support his own weight because he is not dense enough. But Legendary and Tetsu-Goji is.

So that is why Tetsu-Goji is 150 thousand metric tons.

Apparently, a lot of people are liking Tetsu-Goji. Saying he's a unique design, he's not trying to look like all the known designs, he's being different, himself.

But at the same time, he's recognizable as Godzilla.

Hell, one guy said Tetsu-Goji should have been what we got in 98 rather than the Tatopoulus design.
