I darkened the background, and added more shading and details, in order to bring this up to a similar level as the rest of the scenes for this story. This image will be used in chapter-7 of my "[i]Family Tails[/i]" novel.

One time (and this was after I had been out of the Navy for a while and my hair had grown back long), I was with me mum shopping in a grocery store in a smaller town down in Oklahoma. I was wearing jeans, hiking boots, t-shirt, a worn Levi's denim jean jacket with a big Harley-Davidson eagle on the back, a Greek fisherman's cap, and knuckle gloves (the finger portion only cover the first segment of each finger, like driving, cycling, or weight-lifting gloves). While mum was browsing the meat case, a woman and her little girl walked by. The woman saw me an looked a wee bit scared, probably thinking I was in a motorcycle gang or something. The woman's little girl, on the other hand, looked up at me in wide-eyed wonder. When they passed, and the little girl saw how long my hair was, she let out a loud "YEP!" and then started singing "Jesus Loves Me"...and all activity in the store immediately stopped. Everybody was staring at me, and the girl's mother looked as if she was about to panic. Me mum figured out what was going on, and started snickering, and I quickly became quite uncomfortable, and said I'd wait out in me car.
One other time, I and (a former) fiancée of mine were sitting in a restaurant when some other people came by as they were being led to their seats. One woman in the group stopped and came back to our table and asked if I was participating in the "passion play" at a local church (apparently she thought I looked the part), and I said that I wasn't. My former fiancée wasn't amused (she was a member of a United Methodist church, had a bit of an issue with me being a Druid).
I may have a photo around of what I looked like around that time, but it was close to the drawing I made.
