Job Search Tip 69: Oversharing at an Interview
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Interviewers are overly sensitive to negativity. Talking about "bad" things during an interview may be seen as off topic or cause you to become associate with the "bad" thing. Think about the phrasing of work/life situations. Using "why are you leaving your current position?" interview question as an example:
"My coworker's are jerks." --> "I am looking for something different within the company culture."
"I do not like my job." --> "I have been working with them for a while and decided to look around, see what other opportunities are out there."

"Do not overshare during an interview. Remember, you have full control over how you respond. Map out answers to common and industry-related interview questions to prevent rambling. Avoid topics that are traumatic, controversial, depressing, or vulgar. Those comments may make your interview memorable, but not in a good way."
