Drust on the Run - Heat 9 Teaser by Blotch
[i]Mud leapt up after wily Drust's paws as he fled with Roman gold.
The heavy coin purse jingled in his grasp, the cut strings striking his fur in the wind. Sleepy-eyed guard dogs stirred from their tents as he sprinted past. [/i]Perhaps I didn't win their respect, but which of us has their gold?[i]
He laughed. [/i]Roman fools. They saw every wolf as a dim-witted barbarian.[i]
Not far behind, the clatter of armor and howls of pursuit caught up to his lupine ears. Claws skittering against wet stone, he scrambled up the supports of their wall and down the steep outside, a drop taller than he was. The muddy sod broke his fall, wet loam squishing around his bare paws. To hear the dogs talk, it stretched from sea to sea unbroken.
Onward he ran, stripping off layer upon layer of clothing as he did so. The garish reds and ambers had let him blend in well with the other Roman sympathizers, but he'd stand out like a flame in the cool greens of this forest.
A look over his shoulder showed several armored canines hopping down from the low wall. While the corgi commander he'd stolen from would never lay paw on him alone, some of his soldiers looked lean enough to run like wolves. He had to get out of sight soon or the invaders would be upon him. He kicked off the last of his finery, letting it fall to the slick ground. [/i]

I have a story in the upcoming [i][color=red]Heat[/color][/i] anthology by Sofawolf Press! It's called "The Prisoner" and is a collaboration between myself and the very talented Blotch. :)
It's set in Pictish Britain in the time of the Roman colonization. Our protagonist is the charming cad Drust, who is seen here excusing himself from a complex financial situation. The story is M/F and includes sexy wolves.
