Oh good taste, too bad they are so hard to get. Might cost you a pretty penny to restore and maintain. They stopped manufacturing parts a while back so, plenty of custom work :) Nice work on the pic, love pencil work

But I hear that the few and far DMCs that are around still make them new, same old frame and doors, just new type of engine and interior. But I hear they run real high =/

They are indeed still making them- out of the old new stock. Basically everything that was left over in the assembly plant in Belfast, Northern Ireland was shipped to Houston Texas, where the new DMC is essentially building new cars out of never been used 25 year old parts. There are a few upgrades available, but it's the same Peugot-Renault-Volvo 2.8L V6, and everything. New ones cost upwards of $40k, but they also refurb used ones, and they run for mid $20s, low $30s.

My goal it to at least get a refurb. That is seriously like the only car I want.

Have to verifythis but I have heard that they are making brand new sheet metal parts using new stainless steel and steel using the orignal dies. I priced how I want one built back in 2007 and it was right at $50,000. Now the same spec build is around $65,000. Honestly its not worth it because those stainless steel bodies are a pain to care for and they scratch so easily. Got to be careful what type of cloth you use to wash it and dry it with as well as polishing it.

not so long ago they were 10 to a penny! but now they have flown up high in price...plenty of them still about here in uk but cost 7000k or more for a very clean one

Very rare, a real collectors item now. Sadly the design flaws and the workers strikes pretty much killed it off.
They started building them again a number of years ago out of the old left over parts that never got used when the factory closed.

But when they started making them again, they're a bit more common. People all over Florida seem to have them now, according to my friend Madison. But still rare here on the west coast. Some guy that lives in my city has one. I see him driving it ever so often. I'm jealous as all hell.

Still a rare car. But I wouldn't be jealous when all those electronics drain the battery and he's stuck inside it. The door release on the outside is mechanical, but its electronic on the inside. Plus the windows don't open enough for you to reach out and grab the handle.
You remember the celebrity that got stuck inside one in the 80's when the battery died?

I wish I had one, but they're too cost prohibitive to ship across the Pacific and convert to RHD.

There is a business man in Houston that still builds these cars today.

I am aware. There is even a place in Florida as well. 45,000 + for a new one, 20,000+ for a used.

Nice drawing. Shame about the car. They've only got V6 engines though. A good sports car has always been made by Brits. Sure they aren't that powerful but they do have looks. Take the Triumphs for example, there was the Stag (for V8 touring until it over heated), the Spitfire & the TR6... (oh wait that's the manliest car in the world lol). That is a very good piece. You can tell what it is but when I saw the banner, I thought "Ooh, is it a Renault Fuego?" lol. Faved & voted

XD Couldn't help it. Sweet I love DeLorean's. I have the model of the one from back to the future, which I'll have to repaint since I didn't have the silver for the body. :(
