Sharla: Oh once we found out it was possible, we’ve been trying our hardest, believe me.
Gideon: Granted from what I hear, the odds are starkly against us. Apparently dependin’ on how dramatic the species gap is between two mammals, the harder it is.
Sharla: Geneticists have been sort of scrambling to unravel the whole ins and outs of interspecies pregnancy after Miss Bellwether and her mate sort of…burned the textbooks. They have to re-write years of old research they thought was largely set in stone.
Gideon: I mean, there had been a few cases before, but I had always heard mammals like ligers and zorses were ‘exceptions’ to the rule.
Sharla: But it seems the only thing holding us back were the odds…and years and years of social stigma that kept the number of inter-species couples too low to bear enough results.
Gideon: We’re hopin’ in a few years when them science fella’s get a better handle on how to make it take, we can save up the money to do somethin’ like that er…invite…Invitero-?
Sharla: Invitro.
Gideon: Right. But until then I’m more than happy to keep tryin’ at it the ol’ fashioned way.
Sharla: Mhh…me too. We’re going to be very busy this Estara…*giggles*
Gideon: At this rate, I’m gonna end up losin’ this gut. *laughs*
