The line of darkness traveling in the sky
Moves towards your home.
A beautiful sight in the light of the sun
That's being covered by the scattered grey clouds.
As the minutes pass, the darkness covers the sky.
Soft rumbles can be heard in the distance.
All sorts of living things seek their shelter.
A noisy storm is on its way as the night approaches.
Soon the rain starts.
The sky's growl grows louder.
Flashes of white light spark across the clouds.
The thunderstorm has arrived to noisily water the ground.
Companions may flee under the blankets and pillows,
While others may wake from their evening naps,
As the crackles and screeches get closer.
For now the storm is here to stay to torment the fearful.
Those that are comforted by the sounds
Of the lightening crackling and the rain pounding,
Are relaxing inside their homes listening,
To the storm as it puts them to sleep.
A few minutes of wind and strong rain comes and passes.
Followed by the lessening lightening,
The thunder returns to its rumble,
The rain lightens and the sky turns grey.
The moon is the only source of light
As the storm is carried away.
All the life returns to the calm
Of a normal cloudy night.

A Shower and Storm - medium poem
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
I just realized I never wrote about the rain or a storm yet, so I did it! I tried to keep it friendly to those furs who love and hate thunderstorms like I've done with past poems. This poem was written on 6/20/2016.
