Interesting take on an artificial intelligence. It makes itself convincing by formulating your own thoughts back at you and using them as a resource, like a fake psychic doing a cold reading. Which gives it the appearance of greater depth, when in fact it's using your own subconscious as a tell to embroider a more elaborate and believable world, based on how you interpret what it initially shows.

That's a really clever idea! Sort of an ultimate spin on the old 'mirror the questions back at you' technique that got played around with in early experiments but never really went anywhere. Only now it has far more data to work with than just what you're actually saying, and so it works much better as well!

Yeah, that's exactly what's happening :) I don't think I put there exact numbers but she was offline for a few weeks while having the thought scan thing on, so I thought that would be enough data for the AI to work with. Combine that with dramatic speech filters and voila, you have an insightful life-changing monologue with nothing but your own thoughts in it!

It's the best practical solution I've ever seen suggested to the problem. A 'true AI' would get bored and have better things to do, but this way everyone is their own AI, with potential psychological benefits, enhanced gameplay, and no way whatsoever that the company can be sued for reflecting peoples own thoughts back at them. Sweet.
