"I rose and saw truly the ignorance of man" - the Sphinx
Pavel watched closely, shifting in his seat as the regal creature paced, her head ducked, expression troubled. After a length of silence, he spoke.
'Dearest Sphinx. Although you are a holder of great Wisdom, a creature of all things knowledgeable and true, you are blinded and deemed nothing better than a beast.' She started at that but Pavel's hand was raised and he continued forth in his speech. 'You are a beast because you walk on four legs. You are blinded because your head is not raised, it cannot be raised to see the Truth. You have men, daemonkin and dragon alike, seek you out for your words, for your riddle. And how many times have you spoken the same thing? How many hundreds of years do you share the same thoughts to ghost faces? Surely you can see this?' He beckoned. 'Become better, dearest Sphinx. Stand upon two legs, upon hind legs and see, truly see what it is you impart your wisdom upon.'
And thus, she did.
This is available as a print if anybody is interested. :)
