My Steel Legion
And this is what has been keeping me busy .
One fully playable Armageddon Steel Legion army, 7 years of collecting and painting.
I got the last 30 about the same time and i painted em all at once and with the new tanks , 3 months of work later and here you go.
But there's more , am not done yet.
Unpainted,still on sprue, on it's way and WIP , about 30 more legionaries including the Veteran conversion am working on ATM ,costom converting the missing options for my command squad "aka regimental advisers wearing gas masks" ,2 new LR battletanks still in box (one of each kit) one bad LR demolisher conversion that's going to get upgraded with real parts (from the new kits) , one authentic Steel legion sentinel walker that's need a repaint and some minor modifications, one authentic forge world tank destroyer (imperial armor 1) "i always wanted one", one Armageddon pattern Medusa siege mortar + the Eartshaker cannon i already have "am planing on magnetizing the cannons for easy swap out" oh and a Baneblade witch is next on the assembly line.
once i catch up on my backlog am planning on ordering some German infantry from wargames factory , with parts i already have i plan o converting throes in to Legionares holding the weapon options witch wher never made by games workshop.

it can be but you can save a lot by buying second hand , what help finance the expatiation is i sold my CCG collection for a decent ammount store credit
Though I think some of them collect armies from the future, if that'd be a problem.
i do have 4 aegis lines with quadguns, 3 icarus lascannons and 2 bastions so i got available anti air capabilities.
Then you will know how much this is truly an accomplishment because all the minis are OPP.
Apocalypse wise i would play my legionaries as part of a combined force with my other guard regiments and with space marine and inquisitorial forces .
Alone i just don't have the "bodies" to make a credible force and getting more is difficult.
I got an Apocalypse 15,000 point army (been collecting since 98') and if I ever get crazy matches like that I have 12 Basilisks 30 Sentinels (Auto cannons EVERY WHERE) two War hound titans, and so on and so on and so on.. about a 1/4th of the imp guard units I have were converted to Adeptus Mechanicus foot soldiers.
A good two tips is get a few leman russ tanks and a few more heavy squads. Point out the flash light brigade to conscripts with radio packs and laugh as low point units are bombardment beacons. You gotta get into the mind Imp guard is to hold the lines and have heavy support behind them.
it took me a long time to find all thees guys and they a tad tedious to paint.
As you can see am going for thematic here and i cant exactly stuff thas not fluff appropriate for the steel legion.
now i do have more infantry am working on and by the time am done with phase 2 i will have.
HQ.
1 full command squad with advisers (all with gas masks)

2 infantry platoon command , 6 infantry platoon , 2 special weapon squads , 4 heavy weapon squads.
2 veteran units , one penal legion squad , "thies are funny conversions".
3 chimera transport.

2 units of storm troopers
Fast attack
1 Armageddon pattern sentinel , 1 hellhound (all variant magnetized) , 1 valkyrie
Heavy support
1 Armageddon pattern basilisk/Medusa , 4 Russ battletanks (am going to see what am going to do once i start cutting in to the kits) , 1 hydra flack tank , one tank destroyer .
Super heavies
1 bainblade
once all that is done with , this is what am planning for phase 3
1 more chimera with command upgrades , get my sentinel squad to full strength , 1 manticor rocket launcher , possebly a second hellhound, i may add more infantry depending how my conversion experiment.
and a shadowsword "iron saint"
now here is the kicker , i have 2 more guard regiments and my Catachan jungle fighters make about 2000 points just with infantry , beyond that i have 5 other 40k armies.
