The Ouranomachy

The text is a mess of scratches, written in the unwritable language of the aviform gods. Thirty are they who, as one, foretold a battle between the Stars-Between-Them and the Children of Soil; thirty are they who, individually, sacrificed their earthly presence centuries ago to set this chain of events into motion. This stone tablet, carved by talon from chalcedony geode, is the final testament to their warning.

The text speaks of a coming war with the Stars-Between-Them, in which the Children of Soil attempt to rekindle the spark of the Sun-in-Shadow by storming the heavens and massacring the stellar gods, feeding their corpses to the Sun-in-Shadow to initiate its theoclastic regenesis. The priest-king known as Kingdom's Heart, until that moment sworn to the Stars-Between-Them, will change sides abruptly and spearhead the charge. In that moment, night and true night will align again, and a path to the Inviolate will open.

Many gods will fall that day, but many more will be born. The Children of Soil are not a forgiving lot, and they will take the chance to ascend, bathing in the blood of their former oppressors. There are many worshipped as gods now who will only rightfully become so in that battle: the Lady-in-Waiting, the Scourge, the Xenodidact. Their battle will consume the earth, for they have the most to prove. But under the guiding hand of Kingdom's Heart, the Children will lead all souls to glory, casting off the Stars-Between-Them and restoring the Sun-in-Shadow to its true form: the Sun Unconquerable.

Then a new age for humanity will begin, when light and nature rebound, and man will be able to enjoy the fruits of his labors. The Church of the Stars will fall, and all will rejoice in the new light of the Sun.
