I've been mirroring pics like this to get a feel for the style and the characters. It'll be a while before I can draw them myself, I think.

The coloring and background is mine, obviously. And so is the messed up shading :P

I like your stories and pictures a lot.

I'm working on finding the right tool to do shading with, it still looks weird with the airbrush. I'll have to experiment more, but I'm getting the hang of using layers to make coloring easier.

I do the tracing because it gives a good starting point. It gets me good at noticing small details, and get a feeling for drawing the characters, but most of all it gives me a chance to (relatively) quickly have a composition, so I can spend my time practicing coloring instead of making the characters look perfect.

And I do most of my sketching practice offline at the moment.
