Portrait - Elethea
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
This is Elethea, Desmond's grandmother. She'll come into future stories after Size Matters 2.
Thought about doing more portraits of characters like this.

She doesn't really come into SM2 much more than being mentioned again but future stories will have a lot more on and of her.
Excellent work on the armor I must say ^^
It's her own custom FireDrake armour, she's a very old warrior. I'm working on concepts for standard armour with KiDra as it ties into the work we're doing together.
I must say though... This has a lot more depth that it lets on with a glance. The contrasts between fur and bloody armor, right down to that look in her eye. Heart wrenching and fear inspiring all at once. Very well done indeed.
Yes, we definetly should finish the standard armor designs. Maybe we can get to it next weekend?
Hopefully, I also think we need a concept sketch of the you-know-whats =P
I have a soft spot for drawing armour, used to do quite a lot of it... and in hindsight I didn't post many pictures I finished.
I think this may be one of my favorite character illustrations you have created. The contrast between her soft ears and harshness of the armor is amazing. The colors you chose for the image are also striking.
I feel such emotion every time I look at this image... On one hand, I fear the brutality I see in her appearance and the hardness of her stare; on the other, I feel moved for the suffering and horrors she must have endured.
I really look forward to seeing her story take shape.
One thing I tried to do was have her helmet almost appear as if it was grinning, with the exposed teeth and slight curve of the plate below her ear. But contrast that with a sad frown on her face.
I think she will add a lot to future stories :)
