"A Quarian Princess" by James Corck
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
"I'm not gonna run from this dammit. This is my dream, this is my fantasy. I'm not just some quarian, not some vagrant or suit rat anymore...I'm a princess."
Once an ordinary quarian who spent her days dreaming of bigger things inbetween random jobs around the Citadel, Leiah'Dahlael nar Guuha had a chance encounter with a strange raptor who took her upon the greatest adventure of her life. From battles in the Arena to getting mixed up with rock bands in terrible debt, Leiah rarely wanted anything more in life except for one thing. To be a princess, to show the galaxy the beauty and grace of her people. Needless to say, every princess has her wish granted one day.

PLEASE FAVE THIS OVER AT THE ARTIST'S DEVIANTART OR TUMBLR IF YOU LIKE IT
James Corck returns with what is probably his greatest feat concerning my commissions from him, to sculpt the most magnificent of princesses amongst the wide great galaxy of Mass Effect. He has a huge love for quarians and Mass Effect in general so getting him onto the idea was easy, but the actual dress was rather difficult. I gave him the idea of combining Indian/Pakistani clothing such as the Sari with the Chador of more Arabic roots as something that would look free-flowing but not able to catch on anything with a modest hold on the body to allow a practical comfort, whilst exercising a graceful beauty.
Corck however came with the most brilliant idea which I will let him explain in his own words:
"Are you guys familiar with Milena Canonero? She is my absolute favorite costume designer, and has worked in such movies as Barry Lyndon, Marie Antoinette, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Out of Africa, Dick Tracy, Titus and The Shining. She is a really classy lady, and her costumes are always a feast to the eyes.
I did my best to channel the way she draws and designs, and put it all on the canvas, and this is the result! Doing this drawing was quite a challenge, but it was also a lot of fun. I kept changing the design of the dress, and her pose, adding and removing here and there until the final result is what you see here.
It had to look alien, but still easy to recognize as what it is, so I added the bumpy decorations all over the gown, and topped it with a mantle to give it some flow. It's meant to represent the soil and the sky of Rannoch, the Quarian HomeWorld."
And god did he nail it, had Leiah been wearing this, I think she would have cried with joy all the way down the catwalk at something so sweetly representing her promised homeworld. Thank you for this bro, this was a beautiful thing you did :)
