Chapter 74: Making Sense Of The Senseless (Rising Part VI)

Day 179 (Evening, The Circle's Hideout?)

“The singer Sura?" I asked. “The one whose concert you attended at the art museum here three years ago?"

“Yes Alex she was their captive." My warrior bear said.

“The last time I was here she was being held by The Horde." I said to my mistress.

*It appears that she unfortunately has been passed around the factions vying for control in this city.*

“She is probably beyond fractured." I said to the automated assistant.

“We finished searching the hotel Alex. It is a nice place for hideout." The badger warrior added.

“Very comfortable beds and even some running water." Mitsa commented.

“Enough, gawking we are leaving." I heard Kala say.

“We are exiting the structure pet, we would appreciate some privacy."

“Acknowledged mistress. Wheels guard the perimeter alert us if anything approaches. Overwatch engage the holo-projector."

As the silver prototype drove up I copied and projected the image of the front of the hotel on to my mistress, the badger, Sura, Kala and her vigilantes.

“What a rush!" Mitsa shouted.

“Their hideout was essentially empty." Kala said sheathing her swords.

“That was only because it is one of many, the rest of our crew was elsewhere." The sheep said.

“That is right when they get back you will be in for it." The oryx echoed. “Hey, what is this stuff?!"

“Regardless the raid was productive." Nezera said appearing out of no where.

(How does she do that?!)

“But my sister- Nene! She was supposed to be here!" Theresa shouted.

“Does she have red hair, freckles, small tits and is about five feet five inches tall?" The sheep asked.

“That is her, that is her exactly." Ms Branch said putting down her pitchfork.

“We haven't seen her." The oryx said.

(WHAT?!)

“And that is why you are low hanging fruit boys." Kala said staring down the two. “But keep lying to us it WILL BE THE LAST THING YOU DO."

“What you are going to have the knights take us down?" The oryx laughed.

“Or maybe we will cut off your low hanging fruit." Mitsa said batting her two by four. “I don't think the knight core would complain."

The female warriors stared at each other while the female Dalmatian bloviated.

“What is she getting at?" The badger asked the bear.

“Wait for it." My perfect person responded as I grabbed my medkit, exited the blue coupe and approached the two of them.

“I believe this is where I come in, just in time too because I feel like feeding." Nezera said.

“What are you?!" The oryx screamed.

“Our secret weapon." Oliver said comforting Theresa. “She is a vampire, a blood thirsty one at that too."

“And she is going to feed on the two of you until nothing is left." Ms. Branch said sternly to our prisoners as they gasped. “Unless you sing, sing like you never sang before."

“Screw you!!!" The oryx shouted.

“Very well." Nezera said approaching. “Are the two of you good friends?"

The sheep and oryx nodded.

“Then one of you is going to watch the other die. Right here, right now."

“Impossible!! Vampires do not exist, you are a just a fruit bat!"

“Am I now?" Nezera said as Kala removed their hoods.

With their hoods gone the two's faces were exposed and it wasn't pretty. Both the sheep's and oryx's faces were painted almost entirely white except for black circles around their eyes and nose and mouths making them appear like some eerie clowns.

It was around that time that the vampire bat started clearing away some of the viscous fluid from the glue bomb around the sheep's shoulder.

“Hey what are you doing?!" The oryx protested.

“Feeding off your friend." Nezera said staring him down.

“Pain!!! No!!!"

“So your name is Pain? Well Pain why don't you relax? I don't like my prey stressed in the final moments of their lives- it makes the blood thin." The vampire bat said staring down the sheep.

*chomp*

“No!!! This can't be happening!!! Panic do something!!!" The sheep shouted.

The oryx tried to turn away as the vampire bat started feeding on his friend, but couldn't as if some unforeseen force compelled his attention.

Meanwhile I turned my attention to Pain and Panic's former prisoner.

“NO MORE!! PLEASE NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!! NO!!" The brown rabbit said to me.

“Sura! It is ok you are free." I said untying her paws.

“FREE?" She said looking around.

“You are no longer their prisoner." Barq said reassuringly.

The singer and diva looked at the knight and fell apart in her arms crying.

“Alex." The badger whispered.

“Sura we need to perform an assessment. How long have you been held captive?" I asked.

The brown rabbit said nothing but continued crying.

I gently started looking her over. Her brown fur had been matted, she had been punched, kicked and beaten. She had the bruises to prove it, but no broken bones thankfully. As Lady Barq turned her over I noticed that she had a fat lip, a black eye and her genitals were swollen. A very stark contrast to the talented beastial whose concert I attended three years ago. That night she was wearing a white dress with a pink bow and it was offset by her brown fur and brown hair.

“Overwatch was right. She had been passed around probably under threat of becoming an Other." I said concluding my examination.

“When one group was finished with her, she was sent on to another." My she beast concluded.

“I can treat her physical injuries- but I would prefer to do so back at HQ and after she has been cleaned up."

“Alex." My she beast said directing my attention to the torture Q & A session.

“What did you do to Pain?" The shocked oryx watched as the vampire bat appeared to be sucking the last drops out of her helpless victim.

In reality she had been sipping from his shoulder. She stopped momentarily looking at Panic who was apparently seeing something else; something we weren't seeing. Nezera then made it appear that the sheep had keeled over.

“I drank all his blood- A positive not my favorite but very tasty." She said to Panic who looked like he had just soiled his loincloth.

“Pain!! Pain!! Speak to me!!" The oryx squealed.

I walked up to the sheep, he was alive but had a frozen look of horror on his face as if in a trance?! I looked at Nezera she nodded her head as if to suggest to me just go with it.

“Your friend is dead. He has no circulation; his blood has been completely drained." I said as Nezera placed her paw on my shoulder. “Are you still hungry?"

“Most definitely yes." She said smiling devilishly at the oryx.

“You hear that Panic? You are next!" Kala warned.

“Help!!! Some beast any beast!!!" He squealed to the raiding party.

“There is nobody human or beastial who will help you." The redheaded female said.

“The knights are powerless to do anything here anyway." Mitsa said to the condemned. “This is why we enjoy punishing scum like you. Consider it retribution for being a bad beastial."

*chomp*

“Mmm.... O negative." The vampire bat said slurping.

“These are the final moments of your pathetic life." Oliver said to the oryx. “Still believe that thing sucking your shoulder, draining your blood is only a fruit bat?"

“I'll talk!! I'll talk please don't kill me!! Please don't kill me!! Please don't kill me!!!"

“Don't talk! Theresa said, sing, sing like you are a songbird."

“Why are you wearing those strange robes?" Kala asked.

It turned out Pain and Panic, were low level members of The Circle. It was a offshoot of The Horde who were entity rejects. But members of The Circle were entity worshippers. All members wore tan robes with weird hoods so that their faces could not be seen. Underneath their clothing was nonexistent except for the painted face and loincloths.

“How many are there of you?" The badger asked making eye contact.

“Umm..."

“Well?"

“That is hard to say ma'am the number is always fluctuating. There is maybe twenty three."

“And your territory is where?" The brown bear asked joining the interrogation.

The group controlled this side of the city including the oasis and was vying with other gangs to gain more territory. Eventually there would be conflict as the groups competed for dominance.

“No." The female gorilla said.

“No what?" I asked Kala.

“The oasis is neutral ground. We need a place free from chaos, a place that reminds us of what this city once was. Spread the word to your superiors."

*Lady Barq! Lady Ursa!* Wheels announced.

“Something is approaching our perimeter." Lune said.

“Multiple somethings." The pretty lady bat confirmed.

“How did you know?" I asked.

“Echo location. They are ATVs."

“It is time to leave Mitsa said directing everyone to the prototypes.

“Wait! What about my sister?!" Theresa asked the oryx.

“There is not much to tell. She was one of the few who survived the cataclysm. She wasn't pretty and her pussy was like sandpaper, so she was given to the walkers as an offering." Panic said rather nonchalantly.

Hearing that Ms. Branch took her pitchfork and in a blind rage stabbed the oryx in the stomach with the tines- hard.

“GAH!!!"

“Your kind are a blight on this city." The redheaded female hissed.

“Everyone we need to leave." Lune announced.

“Beware human, you attacked The Circle, killed one of own and took our rightful property!" Panic warned.

“Meaning?" Lady Barq asked.

“You have made an enemy today." Panic coughed.

“Oh do be silent!" The vampire bat ordered him.

“You weren't a friend to begin with." Kala said climbing into the trunk of the silver prototype. I joined her along with Nezera.

“Hypnotic suggestion eh?" I said to the lady bat who wiped Panic's blood from her lips.

Theresa, Oliver and Mitsa climbed into the trunk of the blue prototype. Sura sat up front with Lady Ursa.

“Overwatch disengage holo-projector."

*Acknowledged Lady Ursa.*

!!!

As the projection ended we all saw why Wheels had sounded the alarm.

Another of The Circle had appeared. Like Pain and Panic this individual wore a tan robe that covered them top to bottom, the only thing visible was a large X on the front of their hood.

But he (she) was not alone they had brought five friends.

“What is this?" One of them shouted at Panic.

“UGH." The oryx mumbled.

“You two morons had one job!" Another said to the incapacitated sheep and oryx.

“Let's finish it." The badger piloting the silver coupe said as Lune and Luck observed from the passenger seat.

“Actually I feel sorry for them." My lady bear grumbled to the badger.

“I say what is going on out there?" I heard Oliver ask during my she beast's communication with the badger.

“We just encountered a little bit of resistance." Lady Ursa said as Sura quivered in the passenger seat. “It is alright, no one is going to harm you any more. Besides we are big fan of yours."

“Ursa what is the play?" Lady Barq asked.

“Deconstruction." The bear said to the badger.

“Acknowledged." Lady Barq said.

*Side-pods engaged*

The members of The Circle were passed by two coupes- a blue one and then a grey one that paused and fired a laser at another building above their base which caused more debris to rain down on it.

If The Circle was going to use that hotel again, it would require a big clean up.

We regrouped back at the gym after a semi successful mission.

“Not bad." I said to the gorilla and her vigilante team. “The mission wasn't a disaster- that is a plus."

“That was only because we had assistance." Mitsa said as she took Luck to an upper platform to stand watch as evening started turning into night.

“I am sorry everyone, I know we rescued one of the former empire's treasures but I don't feel much like celebrating." Theresa said walking away crying.

“I will go and talk to her." Oliver said.

“No. I will." The female gorilla said. “We both have missing family."

“Oliver what do you have for bathing facilities around here?" Lady Barq asked.

“Not much but it is beyond that door over there." The wildlife researcher said.

“Collected rain water we use for drinking and bathing." Lune said.

My fierce ursine warrior nodded to her rival. “Sura let's get you cleaned up." The bear said to the brown rabbit, then Alex can see about treating your injuries.

“So what happens now?" I asked Lune.

“You can join Mitsa, Luck and myself for dinner." The male Dalmatian said.

“Oliver that project we were working on, we should get back to it." Nezera said.

The redhead paused looking at the grey vampire bat as if under a spell.

“Oh yes! Next to Delectable Delights- that project!"

The two disappeared into the cellar of the training hall.

I decided to accept Lune on his offer for dinner, we went to the platform in front of the windows looking out into the street. It was there I found Mitsa topless.

“Yowsers! I didn't mean to interrupt." I said blushing.

“You aren't." She said cradling her pup. “When you are living within a group like this- privacy is a hard thing to come by."

“Anything going on out there?" Lune said asking his mate as he sat down.

“I can't be sure but I thought I saw movement in the rubble across the street. It is hard to make out, but it looks like a lot of shadows." The she beast said. “Oh and Luck is being fussy. It is like my milk is not good enough for him."

Lune and I watched as she presented her left nipple to their new born. The little tyke hungrily took it in his mouth before spitting it out making a *blah* sound.

The mother Dalmatian wasn't having it. She looked down at her puppy. “You aren't ready for solid food yet and won't be for some time. It is either this or nothing." Hearing that Luck started sucking.

“I don't know if I have ever experienced anything more erotic!"

“You mean watching your my mate feeding your son?" I said to Lune.

“Exactly! Well there was that one time I was sitting on a female centaur stark naked oogling her breasts and kissing her neck after her lover had mounted her, was hugging the both of us as he was about to ejaculate his cream inside her..."

Mitsa and I looked at the male Dalmatian.

“I was involved in a threesome as part of a dare during my adolescence."

“That was oversharing dear." The she Dalmatian said chastising her mate while I blushed.

(But that sounded like an interesting experience nonetheless!)

“Alex here."

“What is it?" I asked as I was given a plate of something.

“Peanut butter and crackers... dinner." He said to me. “How about you dear?"

“Anything else besides that." The she beast sighed.

“Love you need to stop skipping meals because you don't like the menu. Remember the quality of your milk is affected by what you are consuming- that is probably why our son is being finicky."

“I just wish it weren't crackers and peanut butter..." Mitsa started to say.

“It is what we have left to eat dear. It is not like we can go foraging." Lune said to his mate looking out the window trying to see the shadows she claimed to be seeing.

“Now what is that?" I said as we watched a white humanoid form sauntering down the street.

“The reason why we are in here and not out there." Mitsa said joining us looking at the creature.

The being was all white, it wore no clothes, but did not have any visible genitalia we could see- so I guess it wasn't naked. But it did have large hands and feet and a weird smooth shaped head and a peculiar gait as it made its way down the street.

“It looks like it is hunting." The male Dalmatian said. As the creature came to a dead stop in front of the Dalmatian's bakery and started looking around for something.

“Get down!" Mitsa warned.

We ducked as the creature was scanning its perimeter.

“Did it see us?" I asked.

“No. It is looking for something else." Lune said as many black shadowy forms coalesced into a singular dark mass from the skeletal remains of the building in front of ours stopping in front of the first creature.

The white creature's hands reformed into scythes as it stared down the dark black mass.

The dark black mass stared down the white creature for a moment before....

“GROWL!!!!" The black mass uttered as it charged the white creature.

(Wow, with entertainment like this who needs the hub?)

“This used to be such a nice neighborhood." Mitsa said as she finished feeding Luck.

I heard her but was transfixed by the creatures fighting nearly in front of vigilantes' training hall.

“Who would have thought this would be our lives now watching monster fights- you know?" Lune said to me.

“Not in my wildest dreams." Mitsa said.

“Looking back now, the clues were there, I don't think anyone recognized them for what they were." I said to the Dalmatian family. “How about you two?"

“We were completely clueless after the green sickness was resolved I felt like things would get better, were getting better." Mitsa said.

“That's right we survived something that could have easily become an extinction level event, the curfews and crackdowns by the knights seemed to be eliminating the rebellion we felt that things were actually getting better." Lune said sighing.

“We had just bought the building next door and were going to turn it into a bakery." The she beast said.

“We felt that good times were just around the corner." The he beast added as the fight outside intensified.

“You felt that confident?" I asked my hosts.

The Dalmatian couple nodded.

“We started remodeling the building the day after we bought it." The she beast said.

“That's right and we spent the night there too. It was late and we had just installed the counter, chairs and display." The he beast acknowledged.

“We didn't feel like heading back to our apartment so we slept upstairs in what would become the new living quarters." Mitsa added.

“We did more than that that evening love." Lune smiled broadly.

Mitsa blushed at that remark.

“Alex despite the grit, grime and dirt from the work we did- Mitsa looked radiant that evening. We personally tested out the shower and then one thing led to another- she laid me down on our sleeping bundle, we kissed and then she was crawling on top of me and the next thing I knew I was inside of her. Her vagina was warm, so soft and delicate like a lily blossom it was the most incredible feeling!"

I started blushing as Lune got too descriptive again.

“He pulled me close and then moaned loudly. I felt his fluid of life enter me, it was so smooth and silky. I felt so full afterwards... it was wonderful!" The female beastial said.

“I had an idea how that male centaur felt when he came inside the female he had mounted during that threesome. Lune said oversharing again.

“We conceived Luck that night." His mate said.

“Daaaw!!" I said.

“And within two weeks the empire ended and this was our new reality." The male Dalmatian said. “We were planning on opening the bakery a month later. Sorry to be such a downer- so Alex you said you have someone special in your life?"

“Actually two someones special, a little brother and many good friends." I said as...

“DECOMPOSE!!!!" The black mass said touching the white creature who melted right before our eyes. It was the same creature that had killed the coywolf who wanted to become an Other the last time I was here.

Where it stood was nothing but a puddle of white. We watched as the black mass dissolved back into many shadows and returned to the rubble across the street.

“WOW!! Conclusive proof as to why there is nowhere safe in the remains of this city."

“Yeah, unfortunately." Lune said collecting my plate.

While the male Dalmatian decided to wash off our plates, I decided to check on my mistress, Lady Barq and Sura.

I found them in what was the bathing room drying off the still shell shocked singer.

“I just can't believe it! It is too much!" The brown rabbit said crying. “Everything I loved, everyone I cared about gone! Chaos, sadness despair! I don't know if I can go on!"

“You have to Sura, for the sake of all those that perished. Live for them." Lady Ursa said to the brown rabbit.

“Is there any chance that the empire will be restored?"

“There is nothing left to restore only fracture groups of refugees fleeing the conquerors." Lady Barq said placing her paw on the rabbit.

“Hi. Is everyone ready?" I said entering the small makeshift shower room."

“I remember you." Sura said as I placed my medkit down. “You were at the art museum concert. When we met you couldn't form complete sentences."

“I remember that night too, that was the first hint that the empire was doomed." I said pulling out the dermal regenerator. I decided to focus on her swollen lip before focusing on her bumps and bruises. “So Sura how did you get captured?"

“Alex..." My warrior bear said.

“It is ok. Ursa and Barq told me about the state of the rest of the cities. It happened December 31st. I was performing a sound check with my band for an upcoming concert. That was such a weird morning some of the crew were concerned when they couldn't contact their friends in the other cities. It was around 12:30 the sky turned red and very dark. This huge cloud came in from the west, and multiple tornadoes dropped from it- huge monstrous things eradicating the city scaring the ground. There was no warning.

A vorticity started heading toward myself and my band. The last thing I remember was someone yelling take cover before we were buried. I was pulled from the rubble three days later by these masked rough looking beastials who told me that I was the only survivor. I was taken to a wrecked building- one of their bunkers and examined by a healer they said they had acquired. I asked to be taken to a hospital. They told me there were none.

So I let the penguin healer heal me. When I was discharged, the group's leader removed my clothing and shackled me to a bed. They forced themselves on me saying that they wanted to be rewarded for their efforts and I couldn't refuse. I became their penis warmer. The members in the group mated with me singularly, and in groups. Some were thin, others were rotund and their hygiene varied considerably. When I found the strength to resist they threatened to turn me over to the things who roaming around claiming souls. Watching a few of these walkers, I became sacred and complied. When that group grew tired of me, I was traded. The Horde, The Order, The Renegades, The Neo Rebels and then finally The Circle." The brown rabbit said concluding her personal account of the past seven months of her life.

“Sura I don't know what to say." I said moving on to her other injuries.

“Alex was able to treat your external injuries, but the internal will be there for a long time." Lady Barq said. "If not the rest of your life."

“Yes I know." The brown rabbit said down casting her eyes.

“Reflect on your experience, write about it, sing about it if you need to. But right here, right now you are in the safest place in the city." My brown bear said to the rabbit.

“That is right no one will hurt you here. Not intentionally." The badger added as I collected my med kit and departed.

I then decided to check on Theresa and Kala. I found the two females hugging and crying in closet off of the main room.

“Sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt. I guess I should have knocked."

“Yes you should have medic." Kala said wiping away tears.

“You two... are you alright?"

“We were consoling each other." Theresa said.

“You were reminiscing about your sisters." I said sitting down and joining them.

Theresa sniffled and nodded.

“I realized that it has been seven months and if Nene hasn't turned up by now...." The redhead started to say.

“There is little hope that she will." The female beastial added.

“Lady Keiko once told me that it was not healthy to bottle up our emotions inside, it will well up and destroy us from within."

“That was definitely Kay-kay. If she needed to shout, she would shout, if she needed to scream, she would scream." Kala said to me.

(Kay-kay?)

“Do you have anyone you are searching for Alex?" The female gorilla said as I tried to steal a hug from her.

“As a matter of fact I do, quite a few actually that I haven't seen since the day the empire fell and there is another that disappeared afterwards. I hope wherever they are that they are all ok."

“But still seven months have passed." Kala said to me.

“Well in the current climate everyone is cut off from each other and news is hard to come by."

“You hear that?" The red headed female asked.

“I think that was my stomach we are critically low on everything." Kala said.

“Yeah, I think Lune and I just finished off the crackers." I said as Oliver opened the door of the closet.

“Amazing discovery!!! Everyone come quick!"

Kala, Theresa and myself met Ursa, Barq and Sura and the Dalmatian family in the basement of their bakery next door.

“Oliver, Nezera what is this about?" The gorilla asked the human and vampire bat.

“A special project Oliver and I were working on. It has been fulfilled." The pretty lady bat said.

“We broke through the wall between the bakery and the building next door." The redhead said proudly.

“And?" Mitsa asked holding Luck.

“See for yourself." Nezera said ushering us through the narrow hole they had made.

Lady Ursa, Lady Barq and myself were the first ones through our weapons drawn.

“Pet?"

“I am not sensing any danger mistress. What is this place?"

“It is a warehouse." The badger said looking around.

“I always wondered what that structure was next to the bakery." Lune added.

“This was a storage place for packages that were headed for reception points." Kala said looking around. “It appears that many did not reach their final destination."

“Precisely." Oliver said directing everyone's attention to several large barrel-canisters on a shelf. “You might find this interesting."

“Someone ordered a year's supply of nonperishable food!" Theresa exclaimed reading the canister.

“It would appear someone else was preparing for world fall." The vampire said. “But there is more."

“More what?" The brown rabbit asked the bat.

“I found weapons. Apparently someone was a collector." Nezera said.

“Show me." Kala ordered.

Our group then followed Oliver and Nezera over to several crates in the corner.

“The laser weapons are inoperable because of the EMP that brought down everything electronic but the physical weapons are still good because they are well, physical." Oliver said.

“Great job you two. This changes everything." The she gorilla said picking up a javelin from the crate. “Mmm.... nice quality."

There was about ten physica weapons including a double edged short sword, a staff with a sharp knife at its tip, a giant yo-yo with a triblade at its tip, a short sword, a glove with sharp bladed clawtips and other weapons.

“What are you thinking Kala?" Theresa asked.

“Oliver, Theresa, Alex, Nezera, Lune I want a inventory of everything in here. Mitsa and Sura you are on surveillance. Lady Ursa and Lady Barq I need to speak with you." The gorilla female ordered.

“Surveillance?" The brown rabbit asked.

“Yeah, it is the most important function here. It is also the easiest. Come, let me show you." Mitsa said holding her son.

It turned out the nondescript building next to the Dalmatian's bakery was a distribution hub for packages. It took the five of us the rest of the evening to inventory everything and I mean everything.

“Oliver, Nezera! This was an amazing find." Theresa said.

“What is in here should sustain us for a while." Lune added.

“No, I think Kala is aiming for something much bigger." Oliver added looking at the she bat.

“Speaking of sustenance I hunger." Nezera said looking at me.

“What?"

“I need to feed." The grey bat said to the three humans and Dalmatian in her company.

“You are going out now?" Theresa asked.

The vampire bat took the woman's hand and placed it over her belly.

“She is very hungry."

“I wasn't allowed to gorge off of the sheep remember?" Nezera said.

“Very well. But no maiming or killing." Oliver ordered. “Remember you are more than just a monster."

“Yeah, yeah I know the rules!!" The vampire bat grumbled.

“What are the rules?" I asked my companions.

“Do not drain until dry, only sip and then move on until I am satiated." Nezera said.

“Because?" Lune asked the vampire bat.

“If I do not kill my prey I can feed off of them again and again. But if my colleagues would donate their own blood, I would not have to go out at all."

“Get going and be careful." Theresa said shoving the she bat.

“You forgot something else Nezera. Be very selective, if you choose the wrong prey- they may prey on you." I warned.

Oliver and I presented a detailed inventory to Kala while Theresa and Lune finished up and Nezera was out feeding. We found the female warriors in deep discussion.

“Ok so this is our block- the distribution hub, the bakery and the gym." The female gorilla said drawing a diagram on the floor where we sat with some chalk. Across the street the remains of a business park, behind us the remains of apartment condos to either side rubble- you get the idea."

“We could secure the block here and here. Then place the treatment station here and the entrance and exit point over there." My mistress said.

“I think it would be prudent that Lady Ursa and Alex are located at the entrance first to initially screen the patients. I can have someone else treat the afflicted.... Yes?"

“The inventory you requested." Oliver said giving her a sheet of paper.

“Thank you. This is beyond excellent. Before this find, I had wondered how long we would last in this new dark age; our odds have improved. Oliver, you have the next watch. Everyone else bed down for the night I want everyone at 100% tomorrow."

“What is going on tomorrow?" I asked.

“An experiment." The female gorilla said cryptically.

My mistress, Barq and I chose several mats in the corner of the gym to sleep on. Mitsa, Lune and Luck chose their sleeping quarters in the bakery next door. Kala and Theresa the dining room of the bakery.

I laid down in between Lady Ursa and Lady Barq.

“You are not Addy but you will suffice." The badger said making herself comfortable.

“You aren't my lioness, but you will also suffice." I said teasing her. “So what were you three talking about for the last few hours?"

“We were trying to figure out how to safely treat the afflicted in a place that is not safe." My perfect person said cryptically.

“Ok." I said snuggling up to my she bear.

“Be direct Ursa." The badger warrior said. “Kala wants to establish a safe zone on this block; truly an oasis from the chaos out there."

“It will be the first major test for her forces, what they have been training for." My mistress said to me.

“That sounds rough." I said hugging my fierce ursine warrior.

“It is not much different than what we are doing in the lost city Alex, we carved a piece off from the chaos, made it our home and our defending it fiercely." Lady Barq said.

“Kala and her vigilantes are going to try do the same here pet."

To Be Continued....
