#ShowYourPride - Be Proud Of Who You Are
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
This is my entry to FurAffinity's "Show Your Pride" art contest.
Seeing all the great submissions during pride month, I felt bad that I wasn't able to contribute to it, because I was so busy with other stuff. The animation project took a lot of time and I wanted to get everything done in order to be prepared for a visit by my dear friend Pallando.
He flew all this way from Australia to tour through Germany, staying with and me as his first stop. We showed him around both of our hometowns, visited some sights and shared many stories and fun experiences.
It was a great time and I am glad we had this opportunity. He's now off to explore more of Germany and spend some more time here before he flies back.
During that time, when we shared stories, the telling of how we came out arose. I realized that, even though things have changed for the better the last decades, there is still a lot of prejudice out there. So, with the Show Your Pride contest, I wanted to take this opportunity and include both Coach Night and Pallando in this picture.
Because everybody, who at some point in their lives discovers that they are "different", from what the heteronormative perception is, could use someone to confide in and tell them, that they are perfectly fine, the way they are. Discovering oneself and embracing one's identity or sexual orientation is a huge step and takes a lot of courage. Outing yourself even more.
So please, if you ever feel doubtful about yourself, about if that what you feel and who you love is wrong, just know that there are others out there who feel the same. You are not alone. Find solace and confidence in that thought.
And be proud of who you are. :3

Even when I discovered the furry fandom, people within the German furry community tended to look down upon "pride". They would say "I'm gay and a furry, it's only a part of who I am, why would I be proud of that?" - though the better question is: Why wouldn't you be proud of that?
So I'm glad you came a long way to accept and love yourself the way you are. :3 You can be proud of yourself.
