\n\n "Sir..." a figure asked from the shadows. "Shall we intercept the train and capture the Branded?"

\n\n Balthazar had considered that possibility... but after reading the reports of what happened the last time the Branded were captured he decided he didn't want to bring them right to his doorstep... yet.

\n\n He needed more time to get everything prepared...

\n\n ... that and this could prove to be an opportunity for him...

\n\n "No..." he said, a smile crawling onto his face. "In fact... I leave them alone for now. Observe them but don't provoke them."

\n\n "But they're going to try and convince the other Elemental Lords to turn against you."
\n\n
\n\n Balthazar grinned.
\n\n
\n\n "Exactly."

As I said before, I am really sad that Gale died. But he is in a much better place now, though where that is, I am not sure.
The only thing I didn't really agree with is how Max is now Jacob's friend. Not that I don't see it happening, I just felt that he was rather standoff-ish in Eden, then all of a sudden, he is there helping Jacob saying cheesy things (that were awesome) with everyone else. I am not saying I can't see him helping, since Max's friends are now Jacob's, but I don't see Jacob and Max all that close. But that is just me.
Other than that, this was another amazing chapter, Nex. I am excited to see where this story goes, specially after this epilogue. Balthazar is a sinister SOB. Man, I am excited to read the next book, but look forward to anything you write. Keep up the amazing work, Nex.
I'll leave it up to your imagination where Gale went but I will admit the 'friendship' between Max and Jacob wasn't all that padded out. It's more of a temporary peace for mutual benefit. They aren't friends as such. Just... not going at each other's throats like before.

Remember: we're not just dealing with time loops, we're also dealing with multiple alternate realities. I don't THINK we ever got the details about how Jacob became R3 in the Wolfe series, but time loops might only scratch the surface of how messed up things could be. We might also be dealing with reality pretzels!
Other than that this is one of my favorite series on SoFurry.
The development of Jacob Reaper was quite interesting as he's starting to open up. We can definitely see that he's come to terms with his sexuality, what with all the steamy guy on guy action; and I guess that's one way he's becoming more social and, well, normal. His reclusive nature is starting to ebb away and I can't wait to see what happens next. Will they foil Balthazar Palmers? Will Jacob find a mate? How does 3rd Arc Jacob AKA Sam tie into the Reaper Campaigns? And what of R3? Hopefully these questions will be answered in the future. I'll be looking forward to reading more of Jacob Reaper and the gang.
