Don't worry Quatl there have been even less thought out plans than yours. Like pretty much the climax of Star Wars A New Hope. Why did the rebels not fly anywhere but the trenches, why was that small port not covered up and how did that one torpedo destroy an entire space station? I loved that movie but there were some plot holes in there.
