Overgrowth Fanart
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
You guys remember 2013? When everyone was talking about this game called Overgrowth, where you played as this buff rabbit dude, just going around and doing stuff in alpha? Believe it or not, that game is actually the reason I made my Steam account. 7 years later, I finally got what I went there for.
In Overgrowth, you still play as a buff rabbit dude, except instead of roaming around vast spans of nothing, you're killing rats, rabbits, dogs, wolves, and cats because you're a martial arts god and they're tryna be bad at you. The aesthetic of the game reminds me oddly of ancient China, which is a unique twist on "uwu ancient japan." The combat is super smooth and easy to learn, and braindead easy on easy. Fr, my first run through I actually turned up the difficulty twice because I was just killing armored dogs way too fast. Man is there a spike in difficulty though. Hardcore is hardcore, and you really gotta break out your Bruce Lee impersonation if you tryna get to the next level. Or you could, just, sneak around and do it Agent 47 style. The game lets you do that too. One moment you choke out a rabbit, the next moment you're jumping off his friend's head while his neck turns into the South tower at 9:59. The story is investing too, but I haven't explored all four of them yet. Yes, 4. There's 4 main stories in the base game, and plenty more on the workshop. One's about ending slavery, another's about ending a killer king, and I haven't finished Therium or the other one, but the one about the graveyard of the gods is pretty interesting. Really gets more into the stealthy Hitman-y mechanics.
It's PC only, unfortunately. With how few buttons it takes, it could easily be on PS4, and with how well it's optimized, I could even put it on an XBox 360.

It also comes with a game called "Receiver" which I haven't checked out. Looks something like a cross between Hotline Miami and a more arcade-y Lost in Vivo.
