F-65 X-wing
Every time i watched Star Wars, i wondered to myself "how could the T-65 X-wing be more realistic?"
The result was Evets fighter, the F-65.
Well, the first thing i had to do was make it more aerodynamic. To do this, i used the general shape of the F-14 Tomcat. Then i moved the cockpit forward towards the nose (WWII cockpits were only pushed back by the prop engines anyway). Then, with the wings in the back I pretty much HAD to attach some fairly large canards near the front of the airframe so as to keep the nose up. AND in order to put less structural stress on the wings (and be physically feasible), there are no blasters on the wings. Instead, there are dual 20mm cannons just behind the cockpit. Though it isn't included in this picture, it's armament includes 2 60mm cannons just above the air intakes, and an internal/external missile payload

the TIE fighter would present a whole new set of challenges. mainly, pitch-control. but i'll see what i can do >^.^
