He definitely likes to show off, in more ways than one.

And really. He did usually start the adventure with more clothing - the other characters kept trying to get him to cover up. And then there would be fire. It was a running gag.

I liked 3.5 - did not like the 4.0 rules. When they came out, we switched to Pathfinder, from Paizo publishing. A friend is running a pirate-themed campaign, and I adapted a gnoll from Savage Species. He's one of the top three characters I've enjoyed playing.

There's an appendix (#3, page 214) in Savage Species version 3 that allows any sort of furry to be used as a character race in D&D version 3. (I still have the hardcovers for Second and Third edition core books and I'll keep them forever). I do not have any other versions, although I have heard of D&D versions 4 and 5. For what you're telling me people had a hard time adapting to those versions. Paper and pen R.P.G. are a smaller market than video games because you had to do some investigations in historic settings (AD&D green handbooks) draw maps and do some work much like a writer or investigator. I prefer the pen and paper although most of the titles nowadays are about a zombie apocalypse, like the Walking Dead (Word of Darkness - Vampire the Masquerade)

Huh. I'll have to keep an eye out for that version of the supplement. I've never seen one where it provides good rules for adapting other critters. The one I have just has rules for several "monstrous" races, like bugbears, gnolls, etc.

Mine was from third edition, not 3.5 (First printing, still in good condition, 2003)
