Bear Head Sculpt
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
There's a problem I've found I have when I'm modelling. Trouble modelling without a reference. I've been waiting since before it was announced for blender to get a dynamic sculpting feature (I'm not kidding, I figured it was only a matter of time) and I've been spending some time, really few-minute spurts over a few days, checking it out. I need to do a bear character and a raccoon. So I figured I'd try sculpting them before I model them. And here we have this.
I did it freepaw. No references except my memory. And I think I nailed it.
Expect a raccoon to follow. And a big-cat. And a new canine. More realistic than Ace. And a reptile. And a bunny.
Sculptris and ZBrush can SUCK IT! >:3

No I didn't, I was going by memory, but if you can clarify a bit, that'd be cool :3
Although if you're meaning it's too rounded for a bear without fur you're totally right. Freaky looking things they are shaved...
Again, I'd look on google or some sort, analyse the anatomy and then analyse the differences between them and your model.
I think this one sorta shows what I mean.
It's still a good model, and you can tell it's a bear~ Just think it needs a little tweaking~ :>
(another image to possibly analyse with: http://kids.discovery.com/img/images/polar-bear-head-300.jpg )
ALSO: bear in mind this is just my personal opinion; I'm a little prone to nit-picking animal anatomy :P So it's (your model) probably right. *shrug*
Part of the problem I think though is that I didn't really sculpt any neck. While I'm tweaking I might as well turn it into a full bust.
And thanks for the crits :P
Actually from what I can see it looks like I need to sharpen the curve on the side as well huh?
And you're very welcome~! Everyone needs crits- they just have to be done right~ ^v^
I'll just do it at the retopo stage X3
Ohwells, at least ya have something to work from~! :3
