Nose Art - Grissom Air Museum 09-20-2014
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Some "classic" nose art from WW II. This is on a C-47D Skytrain transport aircraft. The C-47 is the military equivalent of the venerable DC-3, a plane that is still flying in some parts of the world. Grissom Air Museum is a small, hidden gem located in Peru. IN, USA, not far from Kokomo, IN and about 65 miles (100 km) north of Indianapolis, IN. It is named in honor of Virgil "Gus" Grissom, an astronaut who died in the Apollo 1 fire.
I have to work through the rest of my photos from the visit, but I have a ton of good ones. I am posting as I go to my Flickr account. I will select "the best" from them and post examples here.
Consider this a "teaser"! :-D
P.S. Anyone else notice the creative use of hair in this piece?

There was beauty in our world at one time <3
And maybe we can have some buff, scantily clad males on some female pilot's fighter jet!
