It looks like Lorica segmentata, a variation of the Roman Armor, sometimes called lobster tail armor.

i did look up various types of armour when creating it, but i wouldnt know what to call it to be honest

Well, I've never seen EXACTLY that type of armor. But much more armor was blackened that is commonly known. Blueing would help protect the armor from rust, to a small degree. Blueing is a controlled oxidation of the metal.

ah i see, i have never heard of that, leafs armour here is based on the darkness inside her own soul
