You Won't Like Me When I'm Angry (Art by Pokkuti)
When Varanis first began experimenting with controlling his curse, he noticed something about it: he seemed to focus it better when he was angry, and then maintain the level of power he desired afterward when he was calm. This lead to a slow and eventual process of sizing up over the years as he learned; he would let his anger go and swell beyond his previous limits in size and power, then when returning to a state of normalcy, remain bigger than he was before.
Now, he has reached the apex you see before you, just on the cusp of his limits of will, a sword or any semblance of armor no longer being of much use. The savage warrior dragon has only the mystic pool back at his castle to siphons and contain his energy, keeping him from reverting to the monster he was before he learned master of his curse.
This is another piece of excellence by Pokkuti, who is hands-down my favorite rendering artist for Varanis. I still can't even explain how such an opportunity to work with him came about, but I won't question such a blessing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
