I finish putting a hybrid sight on my fg42 "What's the target?"





Blitz pulls up a slide which shows a bunker "This job is going to require all of us. According to one of our clients they died here, due to the D.H.O.R.K.'s being up to something as I have previously briefed you in with the documents that Mox made up. The details on this are sketchy as Hell, but with the payment he gave us it jumped it to the top of the list.", he looks at me "Adam, you are purely on support duty on this one, we need you as a counter sniper."





I give a nod "Understood."





We go through the portal, I quickly find a good lookout position as I switch to my kar98k while the demons make their way to the structure down below, it sucks that this is going to be my last sortie for a while, but what the heck I could use the break, besides I won't be completely out of action. The demons get to the structure when a flash catches my eye on a tree line, I quickly begin to scan the trees to try to figure out what it is, all of the sudden the tree next to me explodes in this loud boom.





I yell as loud as I can "FIFTY CAL! FIFTY CAL!" as I roll back, but suddenly there is this clamor of weapons fire, I whip around some cover and see the structure is now surrounded by soldiers that were hidden under the ground, that fifty takes the air and the large rock next to me explodes to where i have to cover my face "Damn it!"





I find new cover, I look up and see what looks like an apache in white, I start to run as it begins to open fire, the fifty cal firing but I keep weaving, I find a ditch and dive in, quickly exchanging my rifle for a panzerfaust, the gunship flies over head as I see it's gun swiveling, I fire and the warhead hits one of the pods, detonating it and effectively blowing the machine in half as it crashes. I ditch the launcher and get my mg 42 out, I stand out of the ditch to see the two pilots try to leave the craft but I open fire and eliminate both in a hail of bullets. Suddenly I feel something hit me in my back hard, I groan as I land on my machine gun, I get flipped over and now I am face to face with a soldier with a ks-23 pointed at me while another two aim aug's at me.





This guy wearing a white jacket comes around a tree "So this is the human who works with demons, I guess you aren't as smart as you think." with this grin.





"Who are you?" raising my hands.





He sighs "I am Alpha and I am the leader of the Exorcists, funding the D.H.O.R.K.S. hoping to figure out how demons are coming to Earth was a crap-shoot, but I guess it has paid off.", he pulls out this ornate walther ppk "I didn't think their plan would work, but I guess their failed experiment resulted in a successful capture."





I raise an eyebrow "Expire..."





He fires his handgun, the .32 caliber round striking my shoulder, I grab my shoulder as I take slow breathes, I look to my wound and see something crazy, the bullet is slowly being pushed out of my flesh and then the wound slowly seals itself... just like with the broken glass.





Alpha laughs "So, humans do gain something from being in Hell for a time...", he taps his lips with the side of the gun "I think you can provide the result the D.H.O.R.K.S. want with what they are trying to do, if not then... I hope you enjoyed your time being alive.", he glances to the guy with the ks-23 shotgun "Prepare him for transport!"





The guy takes a step closer ad the shotgun stock hits me square with everything going to black...

Moxxie fires a pair of glock 18's at the soldiers firing on their positions with Blitz joining in with a desert eagle, Millie trying to land a hit with a machine pistol and Loona aiming down the sights of a psg1, the soldiers using these mobile shields to give the ones firing cover, just trying to hit them is hard just due to the sheer volume of fire. The demons quickly notice them slowly start to fall back into the woods as these armored vehicles come through the trees, their autocannons begin to spray the area and building which forces the demons to dig in deeper and deeper until there is no where to go.





Blitz begins to panic "We need to use the book!"





The hellhound growls at him "Adam is still out there!"





The ceiling starts to come down "Looney, Adam has probably gotten clear by now, we can pick him up later!" one of the walls gets blown open by an anti-armor missile "USE THE DAMN BOOK!!!"





Loona growls to herself, she doesn't want to leave her mate behind, she knows he can take care of himself.. but something feels wrong, he hasn't tried to contact them at all since the ambush started, the hellhound reluctantly opens the portal and they zoom through the portal back to headquarters. The opening seals behind them as they try to catch their breath, Millie blinks at where the portal was as Moxxie puts a hand on her shoulder while Loona and Blitz stand up.





For a few moments the room is silent not even a light breeze being felt, Loona quickly pulls out her phone and begins to try to call the human, going to voice mail after ringing... the hellhound can feel tears in her eyes as it all sinks in, but she quickly begins to read the spell again, before anyone can stop her she bolts through the portal, they quickly follow her to find the area completely destroyed as it's clear artillery was used just after they left. The hellhound smells the air, she catches the human's sent and runs after it, the imps close behind with their weapons ready, they get to quite a sight, a downed attack helicopter near a ditch and in the opened surface, a spent pistol casing, a panzerfaust launch tube and Adam's mg 42 with a ton of spent casings for the legendary machine gun, but the biggest discovery is that there's some blood which Loona identifies as her mates, causing her to cry at first but she quickly changes to growling and snarling as the red of her eyes glow.





Blitz gulps as he and the two other imps slowly back up, the hellhound roars and in a split second she's on the move, the amount of dirt and dust showing how fast her limbs are moving her. The three imps glance to each other, Mox quickly prepares an mp5, he gives a nod as Millie readies her axe, Blitz looks to where Loona had gone, he picks up Adam's mg 42 as he knows he'll want it back and the three do their best to try to catch up with Loona.

Bright lights come on which forces me awake, I look around and I see I'm in these very tight restraints in this cell with what looks like a robot next to me, this window lights up and I see two agents standing there, one's a guy and ones a woman with a badge that has the D.H.O.R.K.S. lettering on them, both of which I have seen in I.M.P.'s files, they are agent One and Two respectively.





I raise an eyebrow "What is going on here?! Release me, now!"





One takes off and cleans his glasses "Sorry but that is not an option, Alpha has informed us of you healing your injury and thinks it is the breakthrough we've been looking for in the project."





"The serum? That's what this is about? We know of it and what you plan to do with it, but by the looks of it you are failing miserably. How would I be the one who makes or breaks it?" as I try to break free.





Two folds her arms "You're exposer to Hell and what energy exists there seems to have had an effect on your body, while you were unconscious we cut and shot you with some light caliber rounds, your bodies ability to heal itself might be what tips our research to create super soldiers into favor."





The sound of an intercom comes on "ONE AND TWO!!! THE WOLF IS HERE AND SHE'S GOING THROUGH US LIKE WE ARE NOTHING!!!" gunfire consuming the air with screaming soon joining in "WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING TO DO YOU BETTER DO IT FAST!"





Loona's voice comes through "GIVE ME BACK MY MATE!!!" in a blood curdling scream.





The guys voice comes back as another scream and after a loud smashing thud the comm cuts out, the two agents beginning to shake.





"Listen to me! If you let me go I can convince her to leave you be! No one else has to die!"





One quickly begins to type "We're close, we have no choice!", he looks to two "I've put the entire procedure on automated, it'll proceed while we get clear and gather data."





The robot begins to move as the agents run away, it puts this brace on my right arm while it prepares a needle with a vial of clear fluid. I keep trying to break free but it's futile as it pierces my skin and injects into my blood stream, seconds later I start to feel my body burn as I feel my heart rate increase, I quickly find it harder to breath as I feel my bones becoming strained... I can't take it anymore and I begin to call out to Loona, hoping she can hear me.

Loona smashes through a metal door with a fire axe in one hand and blood-covered mac-10 in the other, about ten agents stand in her way with swords, the hellhound growls and advances, the first two agents are eliminated easily with a hefty swing while a third is being gunned down outright, one of the agents gets too close to her, the hellhound bites into his neck and begins to shake him in the air before throwing him into the wall with a loud crack, those eyes of her's goes to the remaining agents as she tosses the spent machine pistol. The agent in the far back runs over to an intercom, quickly typing in codes as a few agents enter with submachine guns.





The agent yells as firearms begin to go off "ONE AND TWO!!! THE WOLF IS HERE AND SHE'S GOING THROUGH US LIKE WE ARE NOTHING!!! WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING TO DO YOU BETTER DO IT FAST!"





An agent crashes next to him with half of them gone, the hellhound screams "GIVE ME BACK MY MATE!!!" and goes after the agent on the panel, ending him instantly.





Loona smells the air, she picks up Adam's scent and runs down the halls, taking out agent after agent as she can tell she is getting closer, her ears twitching as she tries to pick up his voice and she eventually does, she ditches the axe and rushes through the halls as fast as she can, rampaging as she slays more agents along the way, her goal to get to the human and bring him home. Loona makes it to a junction where there's a robot moving towards her, it's lower half is tank treads with it's arms being miniguns as a camera on top swivels around to meet the hellhounds gaze. Loona bolts around as the machine begins to open fire, the hellhound gets to the rear of the machine, she tears the camera off with her maw, she rips off one of the mighty machine guns, squares it above where the camera was and unleashes the bullets into the machine, eventually electricity explodes from the robot and it dies, Loona hurls the weapon into wall, shattering it to pieces.





Loona hears Adam scream, picking up sheer pain in the tone, her instincts kick in as she looks to a double steel door with hazard stripes on either side, she leaps off and smashes her way through them and makes her way towards the source, she gets to an electronic door, she looks up and sees a sign that reads "Project: Cerberus" and she tears the door off it's rails and throws it to the side. She takes a breath and runs through, the screams getting worse and worse as she gets closer to the source of the sound.

I'm doing my best to keep it together, but the pain is starting to really become something else, I look to my right wrist as I feel the bones twisting, breaking and repairing themselves along with most of my body with the muscles in my body following a similar pattern, I can't even use my vocal cords anymore as the muscles in my neck feel like they are strangling me.





Loona comes through the window, she looks to me in horror as she runs over, smashing the robot out of the way "Adam?! Hon, please my mate speak to me!" as she grabs my shoulders.





I finally get the strength to talk "Loona... please... help me!!!"





The hellhound looks my restraints over, she rips them open, she picks me up and begins to carry me as we go back through the window "We're getting you out of here!"





Blitz, Mox and Millie come into view with Blitz holding my machine gun, I want to greet them but I'm doing my best not to scream again from the pain.





Millie looks me over "What did they do to him?!"





Loona shakes her head "I don't know, take their computers and any hard drives they have, we need to Adam back, he needs medical attention!"





Blitz and Mox nod and begin to grab some of the computer towers, I start to cough as I feel something draining down my throat and something now rolling in my mouth, I spit to the side, showing blood and some of my teeth, Millie covers her mouth as both she and Loona look at my spent teeth. The two imps return as Loona opens the portal, we go through and I can feel my body breaking again only for it to repair itself.





Loona nuzzles me "We need to find a quiet place for him to recover."





Mox snaps his fingers "We can bring him to the Happy Hotel, no one is ever there so it's a perfect spot."





I cry out as I feel some more bones being effected, the pain is just so much, I reach for my pocket watch but Mox quickly grabs it as I guess he knows what I was going for.





Blitz nods "I'll call Charlie to let her know you are on your way, just focus on getting him there." as he gets his phone out.





That's when it hits me, we are quite a few stories up... Loona jumps through a window, I scream the whole way down, we land and Loona bolts, never a dull moment with her around.





We get to the Happy Hotel where Charlie and Vaggie bring us upstairs, Charlie gives me some morphine but it has no effect, heck it takes half a jar before it starts to have any effect, for a few minutes my vocal cords cut out which scares them but it soon comes back, I lose more teeth but they are quickly replaced by new ones that have a slight edge to them. Loona is retraining me as Vaggie and Charlie do their best to tend to the rapidly spawning wounds and being dumbfounded by how my bones are reacting. Blitz, Mox and Millie arrive with Millie quickly coming over to help Vaggie and Charlie with the ladies asking Blitz and Mox to get a few supplies. The pain is just too much, so much I am surprised I haven't blacked out yet but I really want to...





Vaggie looks to Loona "What happened to him?!" as she prepares another shot of morphine.





The hellhound braces me a little harder "They injected him with something! The D.H.O.R.K.S. captured him and did this!", she looks over "Mox! Get into those computers and look for something called Project Cerberus!", she looks back to me "Try to hang in there hon, I'm not going anywhere."





After a few more shots of the strong pain killer I no longer feel the pain but I can feel the movement, Loona gives me a kiss and I slowly black out... I just don't know if I'm gonna wake up.

Vaggie and Charlie get it to where Loona doesn't have to restrain the human anymore but his body is still changing, they go over to Mox who is going through the computers they captured, finding a wealth of information.





Blitz sighs as he rubs his brow "Please tell us you found something Mox."





Moxxie gives a nod, he opens a few files "Project Cerberus, it's a proposed plan for creating super soldiers for hunting demons." he opens another folder "It looks like the D.H.O.R.K.S. used hair that they found from Loona's fur and isolated certain chains and genetic information, by the looks of it generic sequences to initiate the program, the serum they created is assisted with nano-machines to introduce it to every cell in the body from hair and skin down to bone marrow."





Loona looks to the human twitching on the bed, to think it's her fur that has lead to this... she looks to Mox "Is there a way to reverse it?" with tears forming.





The imp shakes his head "No, there isn't... what's disturbing is that Adam's lasted longer then the test subjects they have gone through, the serum killed them anywhere from ten to thirty seconds due to their bodies changing too fast."





Millie blinks "Mox, Adam's body is breaking and putting itself back together faster then a hurricane."





The imp shakes his head "I don't understand it either.", he gives a sigh "I hate to say it, but Adam is gonna have to endure it and let the serum run it's course. All we can do is stand by and watch."





The demons look over to the human as he flails around, Loona moves over to him as she smells the air... the only real emotion she can make out is fear, his hands looks like they are seeking for something to grasp. Loona gives a silent whimper as she gets in the bed with him, bringing the human into her arms as she lays her head on top of his. She can tell he can feel her, but it isn't making much difference.





The hellhound kisses him "If this is how it ends, I'll stay with you to the end."





The other demons decide to clear out to give the two some privacy, a ride down the elevator and the group heads into the lobby, the whole way the looks on each of them clearly showing how they feel, by far the one showing the most anger being Blitz and second being Mox, for Millie her features are just that of pure sadness as she's worried of what will com of this. For Vaggie and Charlie, they don't know the human as well as the others but they weren't expecting any of this either.





Blitz gives a growl "Those pricks have gone too far this time! I say we go through and try to find where they are."





Millie shakes her head "Stolas more then likely won't let us given what is goin on, besides I think Loona and Adam need a support system right now."





Moxxie takes a breath and let's out a heavy sigh "Millie is right, it's likely they have scrubbed the area by now anyway, besides we have some of their computers, I'm sure I can find something on them to give us a lead."





Blitz nods, he looks to Charlie "Is it okay if we can leave Adam and Loona here? The two go hand-in-hand."





Charlie steps towards them "It's not an issue, besides no one is ever here anyway." trying to hide a sad smile "Adam will be safe here and we all know how hellhounds are, so he's protected no matter what happens."





Back upstairs, Loona is holding the human with his body not twitching as much, though his hair is recovering from falling out along with his finger and toe nails, Loona gives him a comforting lick as she holds onto him. The hellhound begins to reflect on how her life has been, how she was close to being thrown out onto the streets because she had no one to being adopted by Blitz and working with him, Mox and Millie. Meeting the human for the first time, she didn't think much of him at all, she only brought him home with her to tick Blitz off at first, but his show of trust towards her the first night struck a cord with her, given her personal history, he was genuinely scared and he was open about wanting her to stay with him.





Loona nuzzles him "Hon, there is something I want to tell you. You see I've always hated everyone and the world as I felt it just shut me out and wanted nothing to do with me... so I always decided to bite back before they even got the chance. Even with Blitz, Moxxie and Millie, it didn't change my view all that much, even with the support I received from... my dad." she places a hand on his cheek "When it comes to you though... you were scared and had no idea if we would kill you or not, yet you still stuck with me and wanted to be close despite the danger. That's something I have never really seen anyone do... I don't know if it's a sense or charm you have, but you showed me something I never would have expected from almost anyone let alone a human. That trust, that instinct... you eventually showed me that not everyone wants to show me malice, that some regardless would like to try to become my friend... I thought I had learned that from Vortex, but I guess I didn't.", she kisses him "Thank you, you helped me even if you didn't know it... but now it's my time to be there for you and I am not going to leave your side until you wake up or die." tears begin to stream from her eyes "Please, wake up my mate, I love you."





The human gives a light cough, not as in something was leaking down his throat but like he was simply clearing his throat... Loona slowly puts on a smile as she tries to keep herself from crying.

I slowly open my eyes as I cover my mouth, trying to get the junk out of my throat, I feel something tighten around me, I glance and I see it's Loona with tears streaming from her closed eyes.





The hellhound rubs my cheek "Hon, you're awake!"





I embrace her "How long... was I..."





"About half an hour, the others just left, maybe we can catch...", she freezes as her eyes open and look right at me.





I blink "What's wrong?" trying to feel my face and I am not feeling anything wrong.





Loona undoes the improvised braces, she finds a mirror and brings it over... the core of my eyes are still blue but now what was the white of my eyes is now red similar to Loona's, I look myself more over and find my teeth are brand new with all of them having an edge, even the molers which have it only slightly, my nails are the same as in being renewed, my hair and skin color remain unchanged and my body feels different as in stronger to how it was before but my physic has remained unchanged. Loona asks me how I feel and I feel fine but at the same time a little off, she informs me of what happened while I was out... so my body has changed... but by how much. Loona helps me up and we head down stairs where the imps are along with Charlie and Vaggie with the imps about to reach the front doors, they see me and Millie dashes to hug me as the others come over, their gazes go to my eyes and they become stunned.





Charlie approaches me "Adam? Are you okay?"





I look myself over "I feel okay... my body feels a little stronger though."





Moxxie puts on a thinking expression "The serum has run it's course, but other then the eyes I don't see any evidence of hellhound influence."





I fold my arms "Does that mean I am basically a werewolf now?"





Loona gently shakes her head with an amused smirk "Hon, I want you to smell the air and try to listen as best you can, tell us what your senses are telling you."





I nod, I close my eyes, I take some breaths and focus my hearing, I smell something strong starting to lace the air, the smell of vodka as I hear the fluid being poured, I open my eyes as I feel something in me take control, my eyes going down the hall as I can make out the sound of glass ware, I look to Loona and inform her with she replying she's picked it up too.





Blitz looks to me "But hey I am with you, if you can transform into a hellhoud that'll make things interesting."





Loona gives a light scoff "We'll sort that out later, right now I think it's best if we head home and rest up.", she looks to me "Adam, if you feel your senses kicking in, please let me know, you won't know how to process them at first after all."





I nod to her in understanding "Alright, I'll follow your lead."





Mox eyes me "I'll do some more digging in the files we found, for now just try to sort yourself out."





Loona and I eventually find our way back to our place, demons noticing my eyes instantly with the hellhounds taking a huge interest, We make it back without issue, she brings me to our bed and we lay down with Loona bringing me into an embrace, as she begins to lick my face. I don't know how to describe it, but I'm picking up a scent I have never smelled before, a quick small from Loona's fur and I can feel my brain process the smell from it, it's not perfume or anything like that as it's nothing I have caught before.





Loona eyes me "What you are smelling is my unique scent, you know how dogs can make out hidden smells and make them out?", I give a nod "It's the same thing for us and it's goes by a farther distance, it's actually how I found where you were."





I blink at her "Do I... smell the same to you?"





The hellhound gives me a sniff "You do my mate." she gives me a kiss "How do you feel right now?"





I give a yawn "I'm tired and my body is sore." as I feel the aches in my joints.





Loona brushes her hand through my hair "Rest up and we'll try to figure this out later, remember if you feel strange please let me know."





I nod and I lay my head down on her chest, she pulls a blanket onto us and I slowly fall asleep as I hear her breathing while I gently take her hand.

Back on Earth, agents One and Two are going over the damage as they scrub the base of operations, they are annoyed that some computers are missing but seeing the captured human was reacquired by the demons and that he lasted longer then the tested subjects, has brought some hope into project... but it remains to be seen if he is alive or not. The body count though and footage puts even more fear into them as they see Loona rampaging through the facility and demanding the release of... her mate?





That part surprises them the most, that she and this human are together. But what matters now is that now they have more of her hairs so they can make more of the serum and continue with trials, but this raises a big question... if the human working with the demons has survived and thus confirmed the theory they had of Hell having an effect on them, then how are they going to create super soldiers without it? The demons aren't around long enough for agents to sneak through and even if by some miracle they passed through there is no guarantee that they'll be able to get back to any degree as they don't even know what really lurks in Hell itself.





Alpha steps into the room "I trust that you got what you wanted?"





One sighs "They got him back so we don't know the end result.", he looks to Alpha "We can continue trials but if he survived the process it gives us a whole new problem to tackle."





Alpha shrugs "One success is all that matters in all of this, I say Cerberus is one of the most ambitious things you have done. If he returns, see what you can gather on him."





Alpha walks away and heads into the shadows, he gets his cellphone out "This human that went to Hell has returned. Do you have any intel you can tell me?"





On the otherside, Alastor is talking on a floating rotary phone "The chap is alive and well from what I have been told, but he is out like the Great Depression, so I can't tell you when he'll sortie again.", he adjusts his monocal "But I will contact you should anything happen on my end."





Alpha raises an eyebrow "Do your best to keep discrete, if Lucifer or God catch onto us, we could very well face our own destruction!"





Alastor gives a laugh "You worry to much, besides... this human is thee perfect scapegoat of it all works outs."





Alpha grits his teeth "That's just it! I invested in their ideas because you thought it could give us the key we need in this plan!"





The radio demon extends his smirk "If not, we simply will find another way, just keep those peepers on the humans."
