Response 1: why couldn't a bandage be battle damaged? Heck, with a wrap like that, inexpertly tied, it could look like that just from everyday wear.
Response 2: I will admit that drawing it with the hand positioned as it is in this shot would really damage your knuckles if you hadn't trained and practiced drawing it carefully for years. But, if you'll note, there is a good hands width that juts out beyond the trailing edge of the blade. You could easily grab that and adjust.
No intent to be a troll or a douche, I just thought I'd try o defend the art. On that note: This is awesome! Well drawn, you can see the breeze in the bandage, and love the design of the armor. The sword mentioned above is also a cool design, but I would never use it (for the above reason, lol).
