Cosmic Momma-2, "The Gift"
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
From my Daggers of Darkness™ sci-fi novel series, book #5, "The First Ones":
The "Cosmic Momma" (a.k.a. "The Great Mother") decides to give the gang a gift of her own, much to the surprise of all (including Naoia). This scene was inspired by the music, "Updrift" by Sami Vuorensola.

Here's an excerpt from the chapter...

Hand in hand, the “Cosmic Momma”, Arlan, and Rissanivi walked towards the edge of the assembled group. As everyone parted to allow the trio to pass, everyone heard a soft feminine voice whisper in a strange tongue carried upon strands of otherworldly music. Once on the other side of the group, She smiled at Arlan and, letting go of his hand, continued a short distance away, where she turned as if to address them all and began to sing. As She sang, the bright amber light of her eyes and the aura around her steadily increased until She suddenly erupted in blazing, swirling energy, swiftly growing taller and taller. Towering a good distance above them, She looked down at those before her and smiled lovingly, momentarily settling again in the form they had seen her just moments before, albeit now taller than the nearby trees.
“Hearts of being came when called, did what had to, and none given what was promised. Hearts of being now disappointed and confused, no longer know Path before them. First One child and friend did what could to make right. Now I do.”
What they saw next defied all senses and filled each one of them with awe and wonder and also such love and care that none among them but the First Ones and Arlan had experienced before. They saw outlines of a vague furry female in swirling light, crackling and surging with energy and color, and a pair of fiery amber-colored eyes that blazed like suns. All around was what they could only comprehend as being “the infinite”.
“To you I give…” She said in her musical voice.
When She held her arms out as if to embrace them all, streams of sparkling amber-colored energy sprang outwards from her chest towards each person, enveloping them. She gave everyone what they were promised…and more. When the streams ended, The Great Mother, the Cosmic Momma, or whatever other name one chose to call Her, was now a truly “cosmic” being, looking down upon them from the sky above, just as when she had returned Arlan to Cameron and Hauvri’ahn. The strange alien tongue whispered again to them, carried upon the notes of gentle otherworldly music, blowing a kiss as her image faded away. Naoia, Char’ena, and the small Other who was still with Aren-Tal’an of course understood, though they were not the only ones who did. Arlan understood…and with tears flowing freely, he smiled.

Do give that music a listen to, if you haven't already. Sami has some great music and I have several story ideas based on his music (along with music from Dwayne Ford and Scott Buckley).
