In memory of my father
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
On june the 11th 2021, My father past away after a 3 week long struggle with heart an lung problems. He slowly past away after he has seen us all for the last time in his hospital bed.
In some days, we have his funeral and im glad some people already helped me out with the costs it will bring. So here again, thanks to everyone who donated, left a nice comment or/and spread the word.
If you still wanna help, read my latest journal if you want, noone is forcing to but than i might close it soon. I already felt bad to ask for donation in the first place but im really thankful how many people did donate and as for that again thank you all.
As for today, i simply had to draw something for my father.
I know, i was never a portrait artist nor do i have the style for but than i still had too.
I looked around and actually found nice pictures and old memorize, good ones, which i could use as sample for this picture.
My father was a strong person. He was not "buffed" no but also he was not "fat" or "thicc" as people would say nowadays but i would say he was a well-built.
He was also a fisherman who loved the lakes and seas of the nature. Nature in gerneral was more "his thing" than mine. Im more of a computer nerd but i still enjoyed the times i had with him when we went fishing.
In those days, we were looking for a fitting mourning (if that is the word) for my father since we wanted to show how strong he was but his more softer side he had as well. I was not able to find a fitting one so i came up with one and my mother agreed to use it.
The mourning i came up with goes as followed:
English version:
You were the fighter who fought all battles.
You were also the fisherman who wanted to catch all the fish.
Now, you have lost your last fight but you haven't caught your last fish yet.
German version:
Du warst der Kämpfer der alle Schlachten ausgetragen hat.
Du warst auch der Angler der alle Fische fangen wollte.
Doch hast du deinen letzen Kampf nun verloren jedoch deinen letzten Fisch noch nicht gefangen.
His funeral will be june 24th 12PM german time zone.
Thank you all again for the help, donations, comments, condolences and anything else.
