Lupina - Shall We?
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
This is one of the main characters in another book I'm developing called (so far) "Family Tails". Her name is Lupina, and she is a 1st generation female wolf G.E.L.F. (Genetically Engineered Life Form) from an alternate reality Earth in the same time period as ours.
On their version of Earth, the G.E.L.F.s are relatively new yet, so many things in society has not caught up to the fact that there are now different species of sentient and intelligent beings in the world. There are some humans who accept the G.E.L.F.s openly, many who aren't quite sure what to make of them, and some who are openly hostile towards them. Ignorance, bigotry of every kind, and about every other reaction you can think of that humans could have towards them is what they have to deal with on a daily basis.
The G.E.L.F.s are created by re-engineering the DNA from a four-footed animal, using human DNA as a template. They have the same mental abilities as any human, can learn human languages, be educated the same as humans (Lupina herself has a B.S. Degree in Computer Science), and still have their original species' abilities (such as enhanced senses, for example).
Lupina herself, after being allowed to leave "The Center" (The Center for Genetic Research and Development, located in a secure, undisclosed location somewhere in Texas -- one of several such facilities worldwide), she is relocated to Alaska (due to the state being sparsely populated) where she eventually meets a human male who befriends her. They eventually fall in love with each other and go through all kinds of rigmarole just to get married, get a driver's license for her, and so forth. After many trials and adventures, they end up having maternal twins -- Cormac and Sierra -- who grow and mature more quickly than their human peers. The kids have their own adventures and trials trying to fit in with the human children in school.
I drew this using mechanical pencils, graphite stick, different shading & blending tools, on Georgia-Pacific "Everyday Copy & Print" paper.

(Heh, she's got a nice little surprise for her hubby...lucky guy!)

(that's a Metal Gear Solid 4 joke! ^^)
and no, my fair lady, im afraid we cannot do it, you go to your love, he needs you!
I on the other hand have a thirst for adventure myself, and i shall not let some lady stop me from it!
Except Ashley.... that is! ^^'
Oh yeah, he's lovin' it, you can be sure of that! :D
You know, when I was drawing the background, I almost drew a mirror instead of a picture on the wall behind her, and thought about showing her from the back facing him...because she actually is facing him (everyone else is getting a little voyeuristic peek over his shoulder for a moment). ;)
I had to remove a couple of rather noticeable fingerprints in Photoshop while adding the text. The one bad thing about smoothing over with a folded up piece of tissue paper -- it makes any fingerprints stand out. Almost think I should get some "inspector's gloves" to draw with, but then I'd lose a little fine control on the pencils.
