I must say I'm very proud of how the background ended. I know it looks a little like a photo, but you can zoom in it and you'll see the brush strokes. I think I'm finally getting ready for my next challenge: digital painting.

It is actually totally not straight but curved. Or at least that was the effect I was looking for XD
And well, maybe I didn't managed the sky effect the way I wanted, but from the references I used the clouds can in fact look faded behind the horizon. I assumed it was because the earth is round, but maybe is because of something else :P
That's probably because the chest is drawn wrongly. I got aware of it late enough after the coloring stage. It happens often when an artist draw something, but most of the times is not really visible to people who never saw the picture in progress :P
What I can tell you is that I'm positive I didn't base on another painting at all. But the pose is pretty common, so I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a couple of pictures of similar look :P
