The Type 3s included a sedan, this station wagon (affectionately called the 'squareback'), and a fastback version. Officially, they were the 1500 model, and brought the Type 3 'pancake' engine to VW's stable. There were few interchangeable parts between the Type 1 and Type 3 cars or driveline.

This pretty European polecat seems rather proud of her toy!
