But the author is Canadian like me, so I don't even think he had congress in mind. Here we could attribute those quality to the senate... Although I've heard that they are now starting to whip their asses...
I just love this author. :-)
He takes everything we think of being benign in our society, and turns it into a spy thing. LOL Then again it would make a lot of sense to hide thing in plain site using those agency as a front. Hum... That would explain some of there inefficiency regarding their budgets. Had always wonder where all the money went. LOL
Such is life in the States.
The new head of the Senate, Mitch McConnell is not-so-affectionately referred to as 'the turtle', because his overbite makes him look like one. Plus, he has this weird sounding voice, like a turtle might have...if turtles spoke. Looking at his Kentucky senate colleague Rand Paul, I am reminded why there are laws against incest.....
The only problem I'm seeing right now is that we still carry around from the past spending extravaganza, a 600 Billion dollars debt that is with a B. And that is not counting the provincial, city, personal, and what ever other debt we have laying around. Luckily, right now the interest are very low but that won't last for ever... I'm old enough to remember interest rate of 20% we had in the 80s. That was bad. You could not buy a house, car had interest rate out of the ball park, business could not borrow to invest, the economy was grinding to a halt and there was lots of unemployment.
Lately I've been hearing the same old stupid rhetoric from all the other political party combine, essentially saying the debt is not a problem and that we can borrow all we want so that they can buy their election and give gift to their friends and voter. Again I'm old enough to remember a very popular prime minister that did just that to get elected and got us into the financial doodoo of the 80s. His name was Trudeau... BTW probably one of the worst prime minister we ever had even worst then Chretien, and Mulroney. He was once quoted saying that the economy was not his problem...
