thats a good point... Maybe I'll redraw it that way, when I'm not relying on an existing picture as a reference. I can draw form observation, but not so much from my imagination. I'll have to work on that...

thanks. Glad you like it. That might be because of the paper, though. Charcoal paper has 2 sides, usually. A flat side and a textured side. The textured side (in this case horizontal lines) makes the paper able to hold the charcoal easier (because charcoal is pretty much just dust that will wipe off if you touch it). That's why is is so important to use Fixative to prevent smudging and such after you are done drawing. It also might be because my scanner isn't all that good, but either way I'm glad you like the effect.

Its kinda funny: If you click on the image to see the full size, it will be quite large, but really the drawing is 8 by 11 inches (i'm pretty sure). Scanners and digital cameras are really cool that way.

I will. I like it because it is a lot easier to draw from observation with. When you draw with charcoal, you aren't drawing lines, but shapes of light and dark. It is just easier to create the illusion of a third dimension by adding shadows, because the entire drawing is shadows, as opposed to having to take a line drawing and add shadowing in afterwards. I makes me really happy that I do something that not many other people do here, which makes it all the more fun to draw. I'll have another up in a few days (I hope, this can be a bit time consuming).
