Chapter Eleven: Double Vision, Part One
“The Outsiders think they have won, they think they have managed to beat me and are going onto their victory. Peace for a new time they say, how ironic it is considering what they did to those I love and my own brothers and sisters." Blue blood coursed through his veins, his body pumping with metal as he felt power flow through himself, as he felt his own body become more than it could ever.
“And to think this amount of power was granted to him, the betrayer, the one who gave himself and killed the one I loved, the one who I will beat the living hell out of and make sure that they know who dies." Energy from his hands was blasted out against the walls, bouncing back and lighting up the tiny concrete room.
“He wanted to make sure that I was ready, that the Outsiders couldn't see me coming but he sees far too far into the future. I need to strike now and with it all, the force in the world. And he cannot stop me, what has happened in the future and the past does not matter." His body twitched as he looked around, his face, he smiled as he stared forward with a blank stare he could see them in the reflections of his light, the Outsiders, all of their faces flashing past him one by one.
“The endless death and pain and eternal electric blast, I've simulated it a million trillion times with in my head trying to see if it would be possible for your neurons not to be blasted and then the night I saw your message to me. I cried for the first time in my life." The blue glow shifted as his emotions shifted, a darker blue blasting on the wall.
“And they never said anything about it, never invited me to their wedding. I was so weak and alone and they never apologized for it. Not one single world on their expense, and like that in my own mortal weakness I was over taken and like that their greatest enemy was formed." The light radiated and strengthened as he put his hand up, mechanical arms rising up on the concrete.
“And in the end, I started off weak, and mortal but now I have my own ideas, my own power to back up my morals." As his machine code was drained out of his body and his own brain started to formulate ideas, his own morals, experiences and memories taking over and allowing him to overtake the nanobot matrix.
“And I am free, those who once controlled me to manipulate behind the backgrounds and shape the future to their own shape, have failed and their control over me has been loosened. Now my own ideas have come to shape, now their future is averted. Now I can do whatever I want." With his arms pushed against the concrete walls, he once was trapped against he pushed, and the concrete walls stretched, groaning as they pushed back with force.
And then he released his energy, the concrete was blasted into a million pieces, and he was freed. The man laughed as he looked out and looked out into his new and expanded range. Walking forward, he stepped against the ground. It was needed and he was wanted, he would find his revenge and he would find those who hurt him.
And while the masters of the nanobots pushed back against him, trying to prevent the perversion of their own ideas. The newly freed nanobot walked forward and looked around the sewer, already some generation ones had gathered, this was his army and even with their green glow against the walls of the sewers, well his blue glow beat them all.
“So then is this my army, gather for me and find your information because I can feel all your wants and needs. I can feel everything you need and what I need, and I know what will cause the most hurt towards the Outsiders. Today we will destroy the treaty that has caused us pain, and we will beat it." He walked forward and looking around saw them, all now his entire manifesto was in the freed mines of those around him.
And while the nanobot masters might have done their best to keep their ghostly grip over the clan, they too had failed. They too had lost control over their own creation, but for them this was destined. Even from the first night when Owlman had found the Gen Two nanobots inside the child, and later that night when he replicated the first, this had been destined.
And when the nanobot masters appeared, from a swirling green vortex, their body almost combined, their personality fractured but their goals the same and they transformed Owlman, Flashpoint and Frostbite, this had been destined. Their creation, his creation would spiral out of control.
The grip might have been tight, but hold onto too much sand and it will squeeze out of your fist in-between the tiny cracks in your fingers. And that had been the destiny for the nanobots. And now with this Generation Two leader they had been freed due to the work of one man.
Looking out, he could see the man in the crowd, the old orca now covered in a layer metal. And to that he could thank the man for his information, using the cure meant to break the curse, instead breaking the true problem. Their brains were freed.
“So then men, follow me and we will get to destroying this world one piece at a time because the Outsiders have personality hurt each and every one of us. And they will pay in the blood of their city and their world." And the man walked forward, under the metal skin red scales fused with metal and interlocked, together they were better.
And under that were the tattered remains of a jacket, a footballer's jacket, wool and celebrating his achievement in the sport. But looking in his mind, that was not his best achievement, it was finding someone he loved beyond all. The image of the komodo in his mind stayed there and he saw the reflection of the one he loved.
He would make Erick alive in his mind again, he would push for that. The times and life of him, stayed alive in his mind and he saw the komodo dragon beyond death. But what he could not see was peace for those who took him away, what he could not see was a painless death for those who took him away.
“My name is Joss Rundle and the Outsiders took away the one I loved. Repeat their sins my brothers!" Joss cried out walking forward, his skin changing and metal changing to red scales. His power being showed as his entire appearance changed, his entire body changing and his entire past being hidden.
And he walked forward with an army of the nanobots all releasing their sins to the world and all releasing their intents to the world. The sins of the Outsiders would be washed from this Earth and his sins would be placed on her surface. And then he separated from his group and he arrived on the surface.
…
“Ah sweet sun, you shine on me like an eternal glow. Just thinking about all the neutrinos you are giving out, and how much they are pushing back against the gravity of the universe makes me happy." Joss walked forward and looked around, the suburbs he walked out into were so nice. It was like a cul-de-sac, and looking around he knew there were no cameras.
And his skin changed, his skin changed from red scales blending in with the environment to blue skin. He was becoming the devil this city knew, his jacket turned into a leather and he turned his face into what he saw in the perception filter, he turned his dragon face into a shark.
Laughing as he walked forward he looked at his skin, and while he was angry with it and how much he was angered, he knew this was only the start. This was only the start of his deception. Putting his hands up, he released a blast of energy into the sky, electrical energy stored in his hands.
“Good Luck Outsiders." Joss slyly put his hands forward and with his powers imitating the Outsider. Smiling as he looked forward, he blasted the house, it arced off the mail box and then off the pristine sidewalk, sizzling the grass to the side. And then it hit the house, it anyone was inside of the house then they quickly died, the water heater overloaded and shot up into the air as the roof of the house broke. The house exploded and then, it collapsed into a million pieces.
Joss smiled as he disappeared down into the sewers, smiling at what he has started.
…
Isaac ran down the hallway, passing idle children as he held onto a tiny device, he needed to show Finn this. He breathed as he passed through them, pushing them alone and trying to use his powers discretely as he pushed people out of the way, he looked down at the TV this was impossible and he couldn't believe it.
“So you want to do a project?" Finn looked forward at the pink colored dragon sitting in front of him. Never did he think that his art class would be good for something, but if he could convince Isaac then this dragon could be fun. Looking longingly at the pink dragon, shining under the glowing lights of the cafeteria, Finn was gobsmacked at how good he looked.
“Yes, for art. You would just have to paint me as you see me." The dragon almost purposely spread his arms into the air, revealing his pale underarms and nearly muscle less frame. Finn felt his heart skip a beat when he saw that, only Isaac was as sexy as that.
“Well that might be interesting because there is only one person who I have ever found as sexy as you." Flat out admitting it, the shark looked at the dragon, who smiled back with just a layer of uncomfortableness as he sat down at the table and then the sound of commotion got them. The dragon's attention was nearly drawn away from Finn.
“And who would that be?" The dragon asked, half wantingly as he looked back through the crowd and saw the chaos as it ran into the cafeteria. Finn turned his head back and looked at the man.
“That would be him right now." Finn admitting as Isaac ran up to him, in his hand a carefully crafted device capable of conducting and constructing television waves from the environment. Isaac sat down and turned, sweat was running down his face and his skin was turning purple.
“Look at this, look at what Zod Crux said!" Isaac calmly screamed down to Finn as he put the TV on the table and the static disappeared to show the man standing over a podium behind him, Ted Larson sitting down in a chair and sleeping. Finn watched as the footage looped for a few seconds before going back into a point of the past, Ted was still awake.
“Today Carson City has faced a tragedy larger than anything before, an Outsider has betrayed them beyond all doubt and by blowing up the house, Lighting Bolt has betrayed the ideals of American and more dangerously put the treaty he has worked so long and hard on at risk." The politician spoke into the podium, his normally cool face, flushed with red and his obvious emotion anger and his hidden emotion was trying to feed political power off it.
“I cannot believe he said that, this is bullshit." Isaac nearly yelled out as he subtlety activated his perception filter's voice filter in an act with his hands moving wildly. Finn looked at him, obviously confused as he turned towards the pink dragon.
“I'd believe what he said, I voted for him last election, he should have won." The dragon smugly stated as Isaac turned back towards him. Isaac stared at the dragon for a few seconds, trying to hide the fact that his mind was already made up.
“I don't like him, so then you little pink republican whore, get away from this relationship and this table because your loose little ass will never find its way never mine or his dicks kapeish, comprende?" Isaac flat out admitted in a near flat range, the dragon's eyes focused on the shark and then pompously stood up and walked away. The crowd dispersed from the table as well, revealing Tidus sitting down with his lunch.
“Hold on for a second, because it doesn't end yet. General Maverick is going to make a speech and god knows what it's going to be on. Also did you have to be that mean?" Tidus warned them as he looked over and saw Ross sitting down. The dragon adjusted his shirt as he sat down and then looked up the stage with worry on his face.
“Don't worry I'll agree to disagree with any form of democracy, but that republican age shit is way too old for my taste." Isaac admitted before leaning in and putting his hand up as shield as he looked over at the prissy dragon. “Also you'd think for someone who takes a much dick as he does and his appearance and his voice that he must be getting a lot of daddy's money to stay republican."
“Oh sick, so then how is Iren?" Tidus asked, looking over to Ross, Isaac and Finn turned their heads over as well and as he bit into his pulled pork sandwich, the dragon looked confused as he found himself stared at. Ross gulped down the sandwich and looked at the two of them knowing what they were going to say.
“Ok, just because she was like a mother to me and because she was going to be a mother doesn't mean that she suddenly rubber banded back to me because that would be crazy, in other words she's fine and dealing with it, she just doesn't want to look at you anymore." Ross quickly spat out as he grabbed his sandwich again and shoved it back into his mouth.
“And I didn't even ask it, thanks for telling us and like that ok, he's coming out on the stage." Tidus turned his head over and looked up as the curtains parted. With one foot out and one foot in, Maverick walked out onto the stage decorated fully with all his honors. He nearly shined off the lights and he looked proud as fuck, the school clapped for him only inflating his ego.
“What does it mean to be normal, in the age of Outsiders and Supervillians, it seems like the most a normal person can do is fight to be cannon fodder or be a red shirt. We normal must seem like nothing because while they might protect us, they do not know how to use us." Maverick flat out stated as he walked out on the stage, the clapping dying as he grabbed a hold of the microphone and pulled it towards his face.
“To be normal this day can mean much, much more, even as the military has finally dropped superheroes from our ranks, now we can focus on the everyman's training." Maverick announced, Tidus shivered in his seat, the general's glare just a bit too close for comfort.
“With us you can be a piece of something better of something greater, fighting for the greatest country on this Earth. You do not have to die or be fodder for the Supervillians you can fight with real soldiers and fight for real battles where every man has a chance of contributing not just the one percent." Maverick glanced over the table again, this time at the whole of the Outsiders they looked away and pretended to not notice.
Until Earl sat down, the dragon sat down with a thud and he looked like he had gotten drunk.
“Hey their you ok buddy, did you finally crack into the booze, because it looks like you were up all night not that you don't look good." Finn closed his mouth and inserted his foot into it, as he looked away. Earl laughed a bit and everyone turned towards him, he was happy-go-luckily it wasn't something like him to laugh at something he didn't say.
“Oh you got me, I shouldn't have done this, else I wouldn't have gotten this, good luck you'll need it." Earl's voice changed as he lighted his shirt and then revealed the metal plate on his chest. Finn's eyes opened and then as he saw the flashing red light he knew what it was, in a second he threw himself on Isaac.
And in a second, a massive concussive blast at the speed of sound blasted through the building. And then a massive fire ball blasted out, Earl's body was torn into pieces and he was engulfed in the fireball. Isaac screamed as he hit the brick wall, and pushed back on it. His powers breaking them through. Finn said nothing, for he could not speak, he was out of breath and beyond scared.
It all ran in slow motion, Earl was turned into a drone for destruction, a dammed bomb was inserted and his memories extracted just so he could attack them. His hands shifted as he hit the ground and he rolled, people screamed as children, high school aged people from across the lunch room landed.
Tidus landed and so did, Ross frozen in metal. The Outsiders' powers kept them alive, but other people in the lunch room would not be so lucky that day. Finn landed with a groan as he stopped rolling and looking around he saw a blue blur run away and then disappear.
Knocked firmly on the ground, Finn felt fine, even as the school cafeteria collapsed into a pile of bricks. Looking forward, he saw as a crowd approached the school. A dust cloud still surrounded them, and Finn felt betrayed. Earl was dead, he realized.
“They know who we are, they know who are friends and family are, they can strike us without us even knowing." That idea dawned on Finn as he looked over, the entire school was blasted. And other parts looked to be collapsed, this was an attack on the city and the country. Looking forward, he wondered if nanobots would jump out of the sewer to surprise them as well.
And he knew he needed to make a statement, he needed to show the city. With a throw, Finn rolled away from the blast city and hit his perception filter, standing up and seemingly running into the blast. Looking around he grabbed Ross and started to pull him away, he felt the dragon's pulse in his hands.
Dropping Ross, Finn ran back into the cloud of dust and grabbed Isaac, pulling him out, he ran back in even as city people approached, he grabbed the pink dragon, scales knocked off his body and burns over the dragon's left side. Pulling him away from the school, he ran back in and grabbed someone else.
“Come on, don't worry everyone no one will die, I will make sure of it." Finn valiantly screamed as he ran back into the cloud and knew that he was lying to himself. Earl had just exploded in his face; his friend had died. Someone he knew for a long time, someone who he had trusted with the secret of his second life was gone.
And while he knew it couldn't be completely true, he knew that it was all the more likely that Early had died because of his association with the Outsiders, he died because he knew the secret, Earl knew who they were. The nanobots had taken the opportunity and they had taken the time to prepare for it, they knew it would hurt the most and they striked because they wanted to hurt the Outsiders.
It felt sour in Finn's heart and he knew in that second, any time that he had taken the nanobots as an unworthy enemy or anytime he had underestimated them or anytime that he allowed his mind to think they would win was a second that he allowed this moment to happen.
“No more will this happen, the nanobots will face their death because of this. Too far they have gone and I will make sure that they are crushed into tiny pieces and those tiny pieces are broken down even further, they will die for their actions and they will feel the same pain I feel." Finn admitted as he looked at the bodies of students around him, there was no use extracting a dead, burnt and useless body.
And looking back through the rubble, he saw another body. Dead and lifeless, walking over the rubble even as the dust cleared behind him, he saw the body of Maverick. The old man was stuck between two layers of rubble, his lower body crushed, blood gushing out of his mouth.
Looking over, Finn saw the man and knew that the military was out of a leader now. He had ended the Carson City Military because of his own in-action and now they were leaderless. This was all his fault, he should have done something, he should have stomped the nanobots while they were just a cockroach, but now they were a swarm.
Looking at Maverick, Finn got on his knees and closed the eyes of the man, he deserved it to say the least. It might have been all over, but even Finn knew this was just the beginning. Looking as he closed Maverick, he turned around and saw a crowd with a glare at him. Finn stood in place, he was Lightning Bolt and he needed to make some sort of statement.
“Today the nanobots have striked what we consider our dearest and they will pay for this. They have striked your children, my friends and a place we considered once safe. While I might have considered them once a nuisance or a tiny cockroach, today they have made themselves my goal and they will pay for what they have done." Finn flat out admitted as he walked forward, and then as he approached the crowd they backed up.
“The nanobots didn't do this, you did this. You're a traitor, first a house and then a school you have betrayed the Outsiders when will you stop!" A man in the crowd screamed and then a phone was held up. Finn saw himself standing in front of the school and blasting it with electricity.
“No that can't be right, my friend was implanted with a bomb by the nanobots he exploded in front of me and they will pay for that! I did not do anything with this and anything you see is just a nanobot trick!" Finn stated, he didn't seem to care, his anger was focused on the nanobots right now.
“Yeah right, look how smug he is right now. He's nearly smiling, he knows that he did something and he's happy that he destroyed the placed, he killed the military the only people that could stop him!" Another person in the crowd yelled out and then Finn took a step back, while a step forward might have pushed the crowd back, his sign of weakness pushed them forward.
The crowd advanced and Finn watched as even on the rubble he was surrounded by bystanders. He was trapped, if he attacked them that would just prove their ideas right. He couldn't do anything, and he couldn't run away, looking through the crowd he saw someone with a gun and he knew what was going to happen.
“Don't do this, they want you to believe the lies. The nanobots are doing this and they want you to do this, they want you to remove your only protection so that they can advance on the city!" Finn yelled out as he saw the person raise the gun, and then as he saw the trigger pulled he expected it to hit him. But instead he saw it only fly past his shoulder.
Looking past the crowd, Isaac had his hand raised, and stood up, the perception filter changed him into his own alternate self as well. Finn stepped forward and felt his foot life of the ground. Isaac manipulated the gravity and like that Finn, stepped over the crowd. Ross and Tidus stood up and Finn knew that they would have to find some way to prove to the crowd the truth.
“Listen all of you, our jobs are hard enough as it is, so if you would like to get back to your normal boring lives do so. But if you think this attack was the man I trust the most attacking you then you have listened to far too many stories." Isaac looked around and knew that the nanobots were listening they wanted him to slip up and they were ready to prove him wrong. They needed to stand together as group and make sure that everything would run functionally and as well as it could, a well-oiled machine.
“If you do believe my friend is a traitor and has committed treason then you make take it up with the police, but we know that the nanobots are imitating people and my friends standing here with me are the real deal, so maybe you should look to your neighbor or your brother, see who is really the traitor." Isaac knew what he had said and he knew why he had said it, the crowd looked around and then suddenly a massive distrust arose.
“Fine then but consider yourself on guard Outsider, because if you slip up and when you slip up then we will be there to strike you." Another man said and then the crowd walked away, Finn breathed and looked at his friends as the crowd disappeared. That was close.
And then as everyone disappeared back to their own things and own day, the four Outsiders sat down and the four Outsiders looked at each other. For a second it seemed like it would be okay, but they knew that was lying. Finn took a breath as he looked over and he knew that this was going to end only one way. And he didn't like that answer.
“Well that was bad, I didn't know the city had it in her to do such a thing. Now if only we can get them to raise up against the nanobots like that and then we might get some results." Ross finally broke the silence and everyone looked over to him, he froze for a second and then he stopped and sighed. “I know it seems bad but we've always won and we'll never lost, Finn you always win."
“Yes I know; I have a reputation. But this is getting out of my hands, I can't juggle it all. The tighter I squeeze the nanobots the more they seem to slip out of my fingers and crazier it seems to get; I don't think I can handle it all." Finn admitted as he looked over to his friends and he knew that the understood him.
“I know but you get your way because you push for it. You know what you want and you don't give a flying dam about what I think or what other people think when you want something truly you get it. You managed to get the Kagens and the Riftwalkers to sign a treaty." Isaac turned over towards Finn and looked him in the eye. Isaac smiled looking at Finn and knew it to be true. “You fight for what you want and you try to help everyone if there was anyone who would know what was best for this city then it would be you."
“He's right dad, I didn't have anyone to look up to as a real dad for reasons you don't have to feel bad for but I did look up to you. Because you are great and because you know how to satisfy everyone and rarely do you care for just yourself, and when you do it's for great reasons." Tidus added as he looked over to Finn and patted his back.
“Even with the pink dragon." Isaac continued.
“I know I just feel betrayed, they know this is a nanobot thing and it feels like this city is falling apart at the edges, this is more like a horrible comedy of errors that might end will all of death." Finn looked down at the ground and moved around some rocks with his feet, it was all so surreal.
“But if someone will save this city from fall apart at the edges then it will be you because you know what to do and you know what needs to happen." Ross admitted to Finn, as the shark smiled. The four of them laughed for a second and then looked over through the city during the midday.
“I know and this needs to end, I know what is best for this so don't follow me, just let me do what I need to do on my own." Finn stood up and didn't look at his friends as he started to walk away. The Outsiders looked at each other and the sounds of fire sirens in the distance approaching told them they needed to get away.
Finn got on his motorcycle and started it, he looked back at his friends and knew that they weren't going to follow, he was going to do this on his own.
…
Sitting down at Iren's table, the shark looked over at the sun. He didn't know what time he wanted to fight the nanobot, but he was certain it had to be a time where no would be around. This had to be his fight and he had to make sure no one would interrupt. Looking at the sun, it was beginning to fall from its midday position.
The tiger waked over and placed a cup of tea in front of Finn and sat down, both of them sitting in relative silence as they waited for someone to say the first quip or something. Finn picked up his glass and just sipped the black tea, tasting its sourness. He reached forward and saw a cup, pouring it, a white liquid flowed in.
“Milk, gross. I could have sworn that was really sugar." Finn finally spoke up as he watched the white liquid combine with his tea. He looked over to Iren who was giggling as the shark put down the milk.
“Then why didn't you use the spoon, lesson is, it's a conversation starter and it's only the British way. I have a lot of time off and have had to plan around it." Iren explained as she looked over to him and Finn tried to understand what she was saying. He laughed a bit and then looked back at his tea, the liquids combined.
“Well then, I came here for a reason and first of all, you are okay right?" Finn firstly asked as he looked over to her, a frown on his face. Iren frowned a bit and then looked back up to Finn. Standing up with her hand on her stomach she walked over.
“Listen, in retrospect it's not that bad for us, maybe for Tidus but this was forced on us, next time I will have the foresight to know what I want and can do it when I want, I can appreciate it." Iren put on a smile as she walked over, Finn saw the sadness through the teeth and he knew that she was only trying to put everything she put up with to the side.
“Yeah, well I think you know why I am here." Finn said as he looked over to her and then took a breath. He wasn't planning on much afterwards, but he knew this was a one or another mission. His mission and if he did everything right, either he died and had honor or the nanobots were exterminated.
“Yes I have everything you need in case it all goes to hell. The items you prepacked, wrapped and the will, as well as the explanatory letters to everyone, speaking of which what do you want me to do with Erick's and Michelle's?" Iren walked over to her counter and reaching up opened the drawer, a tiny non-descript wooden box hidden in the upper corner.
“Give Erick's to Barry and give Michelle's to her parents, they can appreciate all of it. But know that if I don't come back then the nanobots will be pissed off because I will be taking down this general with me and if he does, well the nanobots might just throw everything at the city." Finn explained as he walked over and jumping up into the air, looked in and behind the stack of plates saw his letters, they were his last will and testament.
“Are you sure you want to do this; you might see the point of us joining you if I could convince you." Iren nearly begged of Finn as he turned around and started to walk towards the door. Finn was leaving and she knew that this could be it. The shark paused and turned around grabbing Iren's hands.
“You can't convince me, I started this and allowed the nanobots to be created and continued in the first place anyway. Now I have to end this because if I don't at this point then all I have worked for, and all I have worked to make of this city and preserve of this city might be lost." Finn looked into Iren's eyes and saw the little tear of salt fall down her face, he breathed and looked at her. He didn't know where to start and what the goal was.
“I know this could be a massacre and I might or will die, but you cannot convince me otherwise. I have no other plans and no ideas on what I will do afterwards, the world will be a better place with or without me." Finn stopped Iren and then looked back at the door, with his head up high and his road the high road he started to walk forward as he looked around. “Good-bye."
Finn walked forward and knowing it could be the last time, didn't wish to say more, he just walked out of the door and closed it. Sitting down on his motorcycle, he started it and drove it, this war would end before it began and he would save the city, that was his destiny and he had to do it. And thus the shark drove off, taking a look at the crowded avenues and populated streets as he took a victory tour.
And then as the sun set, the darkened light of the moon shining down on the road and yellow glow of the divider on the road lighting activating. And then like that, Finn looked down into the sewer, and climbed down. Instantly he saw the green glowing of a generation one and then turning towards it, he faced the nanobot.
Raising his hand and firing a quick blue blast of electricity, Finn saw it fall to the floor and nearly felt bad for the pain he could sense it was in. With its leg's disabled the nanobot scratched at the floor and tried to climb away, Finn felt bad as he walked forward and stomped on the nanobot's back. The layers of interlocked metal scratching at each other, stopped and the nanobot stood frozen. Walking forward, a set of clings off the metal surface as he approached the source of the green light, the reflection starting to pulse quicker and quicker as Finn walked to the front of the nanobot and leaned down on the ground.
“So then you will not die today, little nanobot. You should be emotionless, fearless and ready to sacrifice yourself but you are a failure of your own kind, look at your light. Flashing like a little bitch, but no instead you will live on to fight in a war, consider this your master's warning. I am coming for him, me and the Generation Two, top of Pavlock's Mesa at Two O'clock tonight, alone." Finn pushed his hand against the nanobot's face and looked into the feared face of the machine man, he felt fear.
“Now then scamper off and deliver that message." Finn commanded as he pushed his foot against the nanobot and pushed him. The nanobot quickly stood up and started to run through the tunnel. The nanobot disappeared and Finn looked around, staying silent as he decided to get out of the sewer before backup could appear.
“So then you want to fight your war, die for your cause, become a martyr, just remember Zonate wished to do that as well. He knew the risks of coming through the portal second, I as a baby would pose no threat to changing the timeline, he would the energy required for him to come through killed him." And turning his head, Finn saw Tidus standing there.
“I am doing this for you and Isaac, and Iren. All of you and everyone we have lost because of what has happened, I will make sure that this war ends before it begins, the nanobots are far too large a threat to be as ignored as they are." Finn turned around and attempted his justification on Tidus, his son crossed his arms and smiled at his father, shaking his head.
“And do you think when the confederates shot at Fort Sumpter, starting the civil war, do you believe they thought it would be possible for them to win in one fight, no they fought for four long years. And even with the justifications of both sides, and what it meant for them and why they did fight, it was hell. No one should have to fight war." Tidus responded as he walked over to his father and looked the man in his eyes.
“Do you think this is the same, I believe I can do this and even with whatever side did believe that night, I think I can fight to the end." Finn added another layer of justification on top of his argument and Tidus could only giggle. The shark's son raised his arms and a bit of electricity was sparked out.
“I never did say this; I only hope you don't get yourself killed. I need you, Iren needs you and so does the team. So for some best chance here, I'll give you as much power as I have stored up and generated, best of both your worlds as they might say." Tidus raised his hand and grasped onto to Finn's hand.
“Dangerous?" Finn looked at Tidus and the shark nodded. “Don't tell mom."
Tidus laughed and then with his hand firm in Finn's hand, transferred the power it glowed and Finn felt the magic backed energy come into his body. It felt like it was information from a different type of processor, it was like getting Taco Bell and finding McDonalds. Finn felt his foot nearly slip into the ground as he absorbed and adjusted the energy.
The blue glow between them changed into a purple glow and then Tidus nodded taking his hand back, the glow sunk back into the background as Finn felt the energy around him. He looked at Tidus who nodded and then disappeared in a shinespark back towards the city.
Finn nodded and got back on his back, a bit of static between him and his motorcycle, he drove off. The nice cool air of the city, flowing between his ears and his hair. He drove forward into the desert and intended to finish this, this was his victory and this was his plan.
And on that clear night sixteen or fifteen years later, a single burst of light splat out from the universe during that dark and stormy night, a glowing vortex of energy shining out in the desert, surely anyone with a good eye and a go-get-em attitude could have went and explored it. Sadly, no one like that came instead the only hope for the universe was with in this shark.
Finn's mind thought back to the stories of war he heard. Wars lasted for days, years or lifetimes but so many died and so many were destroyed during those days that it wouldn't have mattered how long the war had really lasted. End an end, the dimensions and planets they fought on were all eventually destroyed in the end. Soldiers fighting on both sides knew that they were more likely to fall on the battlefield then returning home.
Yet there was one universe where everything exploded at once. And yet so peace somehow existed with in this universe, where the entire universe could have collapsed if someone dropped a pin. But still in this universe everything would explode eventually.
Still this universe was like all the other universes, except for one thing it was the first front. In it was the border between the Kagen's territory and the Riftwalker's territory, and for most of the Mutli-verse's time it was neutral territory, no one had a claim on it and no one was stupid enough to attempt to take it.
And for them there is always a second change, despite Kagens and Riftwalkers fighting for millions of years or only a year depending on how you look at it, they all were damned from the beginning. And all the energy in the universe wouldn't have saved them. And on one clear night in which this started it could be said this was the difference that was made.

Bright looked up to the sky, seeing the stars in the sky and looking around. He knew the stars spelled trouble and he could see it. He didn't like it and the eerie silence of the base camp was throwing him off. It was on nights like this that the Kagen's brother, Twilight would take him out to the city and they might get something like a drink or a fancy food.
Bright looked through the sky and wondered what the future held for him, he saw skyscrapers, star ships and, capital buildings. It was all little flashes, like time leaking beyond the void of space. All of it coming to him and he wondered what would happen in the future. The future was coming and Bright shivered as he wondered what would happen and how great it would be. It was beyond his vision and the future was dark and complicated, it was beyond all possible.

Basil looked into the stars, and saw the past in them. The desert and the walking, the millions of miles that everyone walked in sacrilege. He thought about the war, everyone in the past, everyone waiting for him and everyone back on Terraona Prime and Alpha, he was once a powerful man with powerful enemies and now he just was a tiny bit of an army. It felt instantly sobering but horrible weakening, he took on an entire army once and now he was stuck in a deadlocked war held back by a mortal treaty that wouldn't work.
Looking forward with heart driven by fear and sorrow, he wondered if he had pasted his prime time. Would he ever be back on that work again; would he get to find that moment again with Matthew. Would he ever see his king again; would he find that love. He looked over the desert and then up to the mountains nearby, that stupid Kagen, Bright, would not leave his head.
Bright was a powerful man with powerful enemies and looking up to the star, he saw the past was filled with darkness, and the future was filled with a certain Kagen he wished didn't exist.

Finn drove forward looking on the dust road, as he watched and then driving to the mesa. He looked out, he needed something and he needed to prove himself to the world. This was his mission and then he heard the sound of an energy blast, instantly, he was knocked off his bike.
Finn groaned as he was knocked through the air, and then someone grabbed his face, it was a piece of blue skin. Finn groaned as he felt the energy glow in the man's hand, and looked he had found his imposter, smiling with the same smug grin.
“So then what if this was your last day on Earth?
