Not very. They will nervously wade and maybe splash around a little, but won't get in too deep of water. The reason is due to (1) the location of their breathing slits (at where their neck and shoulders meet) and (2) they still have an ingrained fear of predators in the water -- they want to be able to bolt at the slightest sign of trouble.
