Another World Season 1: Characters and notes

SPOILERS Do Not Read before completing Season 1

William Trevant: (Prowl, Tiger) The bastard son of Jordan Trevant the 4th, he was raised as a noble until the age of five when his half-brother was born. Lord Trevant then attempted to sell William into slavery. This trauma awakened Williams’ memories of his past life giving him access to knowledge and abilities to survive. He has the abilities to open a pocket dimension for item storage and appraising eye that lets him analyze any situation. He is classed as an animal tamer and a beast summoner. This allows him to make pacts with any beast form spirit. He was born a mana battery, the ability taking effect when he regained his past memories, generating more mana than his body can safely contain. Moon and Star regularly siphon off the excess as well as encouraging him to use mana on a constant basis often to keep Cloud invisible. Most summoners can only have a total of six or seven pacts, however it is revealed that Prowl can have an unlimited number.

NOTE: Master or primal level spirits are designated by a double “I” at the end of their names.

Prowl’s Pact Beasts

Lunarii: (Moon) Pure white tiger, no stripes representing the closer of the planet’s two moons. The ability Prowl gains from him is invisibility. His “human| form is a Beast Kin cat boy.

Stellarii: (Star) Black wolf, representing the further of the two moons. Grants the ability of illusion.

Refractii: (Dawn) White Eastern Dragon with black accents. A holy dragon he grants the abilities to cure and heal.

Sonicii: (Pop) Rabbit that give the abilities of enhanced senses.

Chee: A lesser Cheetah spirit that gives Prowl the ability to see three seconds into the future in conjunction with his appraising eye. He also slightly boosts Prowl’s speed skill.

NOTE: Because Prowl formed a pact with Moon and Star simultaneously it unlocked the ability to shift into a tiger form as well as being able to bestow this gift of shifting to others. His “human” form is a Demi-Human Wolf.

Prowl’s Tamed companion

Sky: Cloud leopard a creature able to magically dissipate himself into a cloud or mist, he is also able to glow in the dark. Because he is Prowl’s tamed beast Prowl-Ar can see and hear everything Sky does. Though it should be noted that Sky is lazy and spends most of his time draped over someone’s shoulders cloaked by Prowl’s invisibility ability. Because of the way he was injured he has an intense hatred of birds especially birds of prey. He also has a love of making humans look incompetent.

NOTE: Beast Kin are near human morphs looking mostly human with limited animal characteristics such as ears and tail. Demi-Human Beasts are morphs closer to their animal side. This can be confusing since Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, Goblins and the like are also classed as Demi-Human even though they would seemingly be classified closer to human than the Demi-Human beasts.

Chaza: Dog beast kin. Prowl-Ar purchased her, saving her from her former owner. She is older than Prowl, and she trained him to better survive in this new world. Since becoming an adventurer she has been classed as a berserker and charges into battle with a giant battle hammer she’s named Knockers. It is important to know when she’s angry she doesn’t pull her punches especially if she’s angry at Prowl. Prowl unconsciously granted Chaza the ability to see and talk to his summoned spirits when they manifest in the physical world.

NOTE: food animals in this world there is a distinction between animals and beasts. Animals are the same as we would know them in this world while beasts have a higher level of intelligence and also magical abilities. It is widely accepted that animals can be raised or hunted for food but many, including Prowl, will not partake of any dish with beast meat. There are some exceptions to this considering he was raised on the human dominated continent, however it is taboo to eat any meat other than animals on the beast continent. Another note is that animal names are reserved to the beasts wile animals have new names. A leaper is a Rabbit, Charger is beef, clucker is chicken, etc.

Rider: An elemental summoner. Jordan always hated being a noble. With their stuck up ways and stupid attitudes. He wasn’t allowed to make friends only rivals and political allies. Was it any wonder he found Prowl, a commoner at the Magic Academy the perfect individual to become his first friend? The has the skills to create fire and ice magic at will even though he has no mana drawing what he needs to survive from the environment around him. He has two Primal elemental summons. He develops a crush on Prowl and feels he is in competition with Gou for Prowl’s affections, not knowing that Prowl is guarding himself against all romantic relationships, waiting to find his husband instead. When Rider’s father arranges a marriage for Rider. He claims he’s already engaged to Prowl. The trauma of his father sending hunters to kill Prowl awakens his memories from his past life.

Infernii (Inferno): The Lord of Primal Fire when in human form has red skin and fire for hair.

Arcticii (Arctic): Lord of Primal Ice, when in human form has blue skin and white hair.

Sable (Dust): A lesser earth elemental that grants the ability to manipulate sand. Prowl believes with practice Rider can combine Dust and inferno’s abilities to create glass weapons.

Gou (Goupix, French version of Vulpix) A demi-fox owned by Rider. He was bred to be Rider’s companion. This is rather confusing since he is two years older than Rider. It is possible that Rider’s father had intended for Gou to also act and Rider’s caretaker. Gou was also castrated early, a common practice for slaves bred for a single purpose especially the foxes.

NOTE: The team’s adventure insignia is a tiger and wolf separated by an uptight hammer.

Note: Adventurers are required to wear certain articles that denote their specialty. Berserker or heavy weapon’s users are required to wear fingerless gloves. Tamers wear a gauntlet on one arm. Summoners have to wear a wristband.
