A Dream Chp: 13 The Hunt

THIS CHAPTER IS MORE... MATURE THAN OTHER CHAPTERS TOWARDS THE END, DO NOT READ THAT PART IF YOU THINK YOU WILL BE OFFENDED BUT I'VE WARNED YOU SO ANY COMPLAINTS WILL BE IGNORED. I know I haven't updated in a bit so this is a bit longer, please tell me what you think (Constructive Criticism would be nice) Is anyone actually a return reader from previous chapters?

A Furry's Dream Chp: 13 The Hunt

Folvos's POV


I start to walk around for a little just trying to find some tracks or the scent of any animals. The light snow makes it easy to find the animals inside this simulated forest. Looking around it starts to annoy me that I can't find any. 'I used to be so good at tracking when I was younger' I thought to myself. Looking around I start trying to remember if input animals in, I think I did but I'm not sure. I keep trying to look but I grow bored quickly. “God I'm hungry." I say out loud not thinking much of it and bringing my hand up to my stomach. “Would you like your dinner now, the time is currently 7:53 PM and you have not eaten since breakfast." An extremely robotic sounding voice says out loud through some speakers. The forest starts retracting into the floor and the walls pressing in again, I look around at what is happening. “Uhh, yes please?" I say a little confused at what is happening the room had shrunk down again and a door had opened in one of the walls. “Please proceed through you've only got 5 minutes until lights out." I look at the door apprehensively and walk through it slowly, as soon as I pass through it I can smell some garlic bread and spaghetti. I grab the fork that was next to the bowl and start to eat hurriedly because I'm not sure how much light I have left. “2 minutes until lights out, start preparing for bed." I groan at the voice and stuff my mouth full of spaghetti. I grab some pieces of garlic bread then head back into the room, I look at the bed and sit down onto it to just think. 'Megan seemed nice, it's like she actually cared about me. I wonder how Rose is doing, I haven't seen her in a while, maybe Megan will let me talk to Rose tomorrow. I hope that General guy doesn't come in, I can tell he won't be any fun at all." The lights turn off and my room is plunged into total darkness. I lie down onto my metal 'bed' and pull over my pillow. I put my head onto my pillow and shut my eyes

[King_Pin]:             What do you mean? Is there anyway to tell what they do?

[Ring_Master03]: I… I don't think we could tell what could happen if we unleashed them sir.

[King_Pin]:             Well that Is too bad, I want a full report on what they do, what triggers them to  

                                 connect and if we can weaponize it or use it for anything useful!

   “Sir, all subjects are now asleep and… wait… there is movement in 03 and 01's cells,  

  should we send units in?"

[King_Pin]:            Send them in, don't harm them and if possible don't alert either of them, I believe

                               03 isn't a threat and 01 we need for… future tests and helping us. Do not let the

                               two meet and just try to subdue them so they can sleep.

 “Sir, the movement has stopped, should we still send in the units?"

[King_Pin]:             No, no, continue to monitor them however do not send in the units. We don't

                                need to alert them to what we can do without necessity.

                               “Ok sir, continuing to monitor all subjects."

[Ring_Master03]: Now that I can speak again, Sir I do not believe we should provoke those strands of

                                DNA, we have no idea what sorts of things it could release, for all we know it could

                                be a pathogen that would wipe out humanity, I strongly advise against provoking it.

                                Besides, we don't know if it will damage the subject.

[King_Pin]:             I am the GENERAL, NOT YOU! YOU WILL DO AS I COMMAND… or they won't ever

                                know you existed, even your family gave up looking for you once 'you' died.

Folvos's POV


My eyes snap open as I feel myself sitting on the ground. I'm in another room although this one looks like a room in a house. “Well this isn't normal" I say to myself looking around surprised that I'm not back in Sakai. “So, you're subject 03?" A scratchy, kind of mad sounding voice inquiries from behind. I spin around and am met with the sight of an odd looking cat Ninjin. His fur is light blue and has patches of… metal in his fur? He has a robotic looking eye in one socket and a blue one in the other. He has some fur on his head that is a multitude of colours almost looking like a rainbow. I look over his lab coat and notice it ripped in a few spots. “This dream really isn't normal," I say shaking my head slightly. “Wait, what do you mean 'subject 03?" “Well, the guards by my cell have been talking about some new subjects and I'm guessing that you are 03." The cat states matter of factly. “You never answered my question, why are we 'subjects,' who are you any ways?" My curiosity gets the better of me and I look at him inquisitively. Polybius stands up from his chair and puts a hand to his chest and proudly states, “I am Polybius the Cyber Cat, or as those humans prefer to call me, subject 01." “Wait, if you are 01 then where is 02 and Rose?" I ask realising that neither were here. Whoever subject 02 may be. “Subject 02 is Mina, my Girlfriend. I haven't a clue where she is or what they are doing to her. I haven't met Rose yet, so I don't know what they're doing to her or where she is either." Polybius states starting to get a little annoyed. Folvos, after noticing his reaction backed off a little, “Well, they used Rose as bait to keep me from trying to escape, I'd say that is what they are doing to 0… Mina If she means a lot to you. What are you doing here though?" I catch myself and correct myself which seems to relax this 'Polybius' character a little. “I've been forced into creating devices for the people who own this place." “Why would you help them? These… Humans don't exactly seem friendly to me." I say wincing a little as I move my hands up to where that chairs machines claws had reached. “Well do you think it's been all sunshine and lollipops for me? They have no respect whatsoever! All they care about is their asses! Nobody else! They'll see though, THEY'LL ALL SEE WHEN I DESTROY THIS PLACE!" Polybius states starting to frighten me towards the end. I remember Rose and rage starts to course through my veins. “Hey 'buddy'," I state standing up and turning to face him, as I'm turning I notice my hands starting to turn black at the tips as well as some other patches of fur. “If you even think of touching Rose, I'll make sure that this 'Mina' girl meets the same fate." “Look, I wasn't planning on destroying your friend Rose! So calm the hell down. All I know is that 'he' is getting impatient so I have to get out of here as fast as possible!" Polybius looks into my eyes and I notice him shimmer a little and fade a tiny bit, he speaks with a little bit of a plea in his voice. “If you want to help me you can however, you're girlfriends life may be on the line!" “I'm sorry," I instantly back down and feel the side effects of regaining control from the instinct. “If Rose won't get hurt then I'll help you out any way possible but who is 'he'?" “'He' is Polytechnica Zephilyber. He wants to take over my body and change my whole life around." As Polybius mentions those last words he fades completely. Shortly after my vision goes black and I pass out.


I open my eyes and look around groggily, that defiantly wasn't the best sleep I'd had in ages, far from it. Megan walks in out of instinct I go to roll over on my bed and try to cover my body, I stop when I realise she is holding a top. “Thought you might like this, not sure if it fits you properly but it's better than nothing right?" I look at the top and see red… literally, it's a red top with a paw symbol on it. “Thanks," I say trying to grab the top. “I must say before you take it though that there may be some tests today that may require it to come off. You need to comply or else your lady friend may be hurt. Not that I want too but they may be watching." She looks away and then hands me the top, I slip it on and it fits snugly but not tight. “So... how do I look?" I ask half sarcastically. I proceed to spin around and she giggles a little “It's on backwards." I look down to see a paw print facing up to me, “You sure?" “I was joking you big… never mind." She replied trying not to laugh before wincing a little, “Ok, OK, let's head out now, there's quite a few interesting test I need to run today." She started talking before she had even turned around fully, heading for the door now I asked her something which caused her to stop in her tracks. “Uhh, is there anyone else here?" “What…t do y…you m…mean?" she asked stuttering and almost dropping her notepad. “Anyone else, you know, like Rose and I but… others?"I reply curious at her reaction. “I… No… um... We've never found any others like you… not that I've been told of at least." Not completely satisfied or happy with her answer I go to ask her a question but decide that it wont get me anywhere. Once she has recovered from her shock she starts power walking through the facility as she all but runs to our destination. I only just manage to keep up behind her as we move to my test for the day.


Once we reach the rooms with that have the old machine in I stop but she keeps going. “Different tests today, lets keep moving!" Megan turns and I notice her frown quite a lot as she looks at me, we move down a few doors with me only getting slightly confused at her look before I notice a certain scent in the air, its soft and subtle but nowhere else in this facility smells like this does. It isn't mechanical or chemical, it's almost natural. I arrive at a door before Megan turns to me and starts speaking quietly and sternly, “I need you to trust me in there ok, nothing will hurt you." I look at her confused before replying, “Sure but…" She cuts me off, “Ok, now I need you to listen to these people," A door I hadn't noticed opens up and 5 people jump out before taking me inside, I notice Megan take a step back and she looks away before there is a pain in my neck and the world starts to spin. Everything goes black for a second before I hear things, its hard to make out but I keep hearing someone constantly, everything is muffled and everything feels heavy. Slowly I hear everything better and my muscles start to become responsive. That scent has become stronger, I open my eyes and I know what it was, “Rose!" I exclaim and take stock of her body. She was a lot skinnier than I remember, I could see a lot of her bone and muscle, she wasn't fat before but all her bones were more defined. Her fur, once shinning and her pride and joy, now was missing patches, dull and fading weren't even close to what words you would need to describe her fur. I see someone walk in from the side it's a soldier, like the ones we ran from when Rose first got here. His black armour shining in some places and casting a dark shadow, He leans down to my face and I hear someone chuckle before he walks back and produces a staff from his back somewhere. “What are you doing, be careful or…" “Or what, look around you, you are tied to a f****** steel bench. I could do whatever I wanted to her," The voice who I presume belongs to the soldier takes a breath and points to Rose with the staff, “and there is nothing that you can do about it!" The soldier raises the staff above his head and starts bringing it down onto Rose's arm. “ROSE!!!!" I scream and glare at the soldier as he sneers while listening to Rose cry out in pain. “What's the matter, is the big bad wolf not so tough anymore?!?" I move against the chains I feel and rattle them, I know that it's useless unless… “Don't do it or else," I warn the soldier when I see him slowly raise the staff. “Let me guess, 'I won't like you when you're angry, grr, Alien Smash!!!'" he mocks before bringing the staff down onto Rose's other arm. “No," I say glaring at him. I growl as I look at him imagining all the things I'm about to do. I see his head move a bit looking over me and I know that my Fur is changing colour to that midnight black That happens when I let the instinct control me. I rip my arms out of the chains pulling them out with my arms, “You won't like the animal that's inside!" I lunge at a shocked trooper before he can regain his senses and tackle him to the ground.
