The Shepard stood atop the hill,
watching o’er his flock.
Thunder crashed, and lightning flashed.
Rain upon the rock.
In the midst, among the beasts.
The one who didn’t belong.
The sly wolf, dressed as sheep,
In amongst the throng.
And watchful eye, could not see,
That which there was to see.
His mistake led them there,
Where they couldn’t flee.
Trapped, ensnared,
Beguiled Into place
No falsehood shown,
And no deceit upon his face.
Hidden fangs, behind his mask.
A tangled web of lies.
The shepard knew not, what was to come,
The wolf cloaked in his disguise.
