"Waiting..."
Title can't be empty.

Here's a lovely skunk G.E.L.F. sitting in her window apparently waiting for...someone special? ;)
I used a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 0.1 mm illustration pen with black India ink, colored pencils, a 2H graphite stick, various blending and shading tools, on Georgia-Pacific's "Everyday Copy & Print" paper.

I'd love to brighten her life... ;)
And yes she is. ;)
I think "G.E.L.F." was first used in "Red Dwarf", which is where I first heard of it, quite a long time ago. Yes, it does mean "Genetically Engineered Life Form".
Style often refers to his characters in "BNW" as "jenners" (a play on "gen" in "genetically"). One thing I didn't think was quite believable was how fast the non-ape mammals mutated after infection--in a period of 2-3 days, I think it was. I wrote my short story, "The Changed One" as a more realistic transformation, spread out over a much longer period of time, going by how often the various cells in the body divide or grow (red blood cells, for example, live about 28 days before they're replaced). It takes time for changes in DNA to replicate throughout the body, and viruses don't replicate fast enough to spread mutated strains of DNA to every cell in an organism within 2-3 days. One other thing I have a bit of a disliking for is that all of his characters are becoming homogenized--same hair style, same skinny neck, same body shape, same eyes, same expressions--the only thing different is that some have fur and some don't, some have tails and some don't. I keep all of my characters in the general appearance and characteristics of their species, only in anthro form (which you can tell, I'm sure).
