“Hi.”

The greeting was quick and startling that Allen nearly fell off the park bench with a jolt. A quick view of his surroundings revealed a young Caushae girl smiling at him.

“H-hello.” He said, a bit shyly.

“Whatcha doing out here?” She asked without missing a beat.

A bit confused, he gave her a quick once over. She had creamy colored fur from what he could see with a mane of light brown shoulder length hair with blue highlights that was blowing in the breeze. The girl looked like she was close to his age, perhaps younger by the looks of her. Making her somewhere between eighteen to twenty one years old and certainly had a figure that would turn heads. But it seems that her most striking features were her crystal blue eyes and an infectious smile that she wore.

“I, uhm…” He fidgeted with the tablet in his lap as he thought how to answer her. She just chuckled and sat down next to him before holding out her hand to him.

“My name is Iyris.”

“Uhh… Allen.” He said as he took her hand lightly with his. She responded by giving it a shake.

“So Allen, what are you doing here by yourself? Waiting on someone special?” She cooed with a slight seductive grin that made him squirm a little.

“No.” He said defensively. “”I… Uhhh… I just wanted a quiet place to think.”

“Sure…” She smirked.

Allen returned his attention back to his tablet. “So…” He started to say when he noticed that Iyris wasn’t leaving after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh just meeting a few friends to go have some fun.” She grinned before quickly swiping his tablet. “What do we have going on here?”

“Hey! Give that back!” He shouted as he lept for the tablet. Iyris was unfortunately quicker and more nimbler than the human, much to his chagrin.

“What’s a matter?” She teased before taking a closer look at what was on the screen. “Don’t want me to see you stash?” She gave the screen a once over before speaking up again with a sight chuckle. “They’re just help wanted ads. It's not like there’s anything wrong with that…” Her smile faded was she looked back at Allen who had slumped over dejectedly. “What’s wrong?”

“It's nothing.” He said flatly.

Iyris frowned at him. “It doesn’t sound like nothing. Are you going to tell me or are you going to make me find out on my own?”

“It's nothing.” He growled again as he reached for his tablet, which Iyris promptly pulled away from his reach. “Just give me my tablet and go find your friends.”

“Nope.” Allen threw his hands up in frustration as Iyris’s attention went back to the tablet. “Lets see…” She said to herself as she adjusted her grip on the tablet. “Name is Allen Tobias, Parents are Merla Royse-Tobias and… Arin’tobias? A Lykain father?” She said skeptically as she looked at him to which Allen just sighed and nodded. “Born and raised at the Laulea Settlement. Boy you’re a ways from home aren't you?”

“No kidding…” Allen mumbled before she continued.

“Pretty mundane stuff in your file. Pretty decent grades in school, though. Graduated your schooling, entered a piloting academy and got a job at… The HELL! They seriously fired you for that?”

“Yeah… They did.”  Iyris made an irritated huff at his answer. “A really stupid thing that I did.”
