Beach Day - Commission For SonicHomeboy

SonicHomeboy character Eddie, looking forward to enjoy another wonderful day at the beach.

This commission spawned out of the pin-up commission project I did some time ago. SoniceHomeboy asked me if he could get another picture in the future and I agreed. I had lots of fun drawing this and I think it came out really good.

Good work on the character. However the background, especially the grass, is very rough. I get that you didn't put much effort into the bg, but in this case I think it would've looked better if you'd just used a bland gradient for it.

The character itself looks good though.

I don't think that the simple background is really a problem in this case. It keeps the focus mostly on the character in the foreground while still making it clear that he's at the beach.

Normally I would agree. Except the grass is so roughly done it really draws attention to itself; at least for me. All appreciation of art is subjective to the individual, in my case I just think this would have turned out better without the background; or at least without that grass.

This is one of those cases where I think a character may be even more attractive while he's still got some of his clothes on. Leaves just a little bit to the imagination, and also gets me grinning at the thought of seeing him take the rest of it off...or at least get it all wet and semi-pornographic.
