Chapter Three: First Day on Earth, Part One
Many things have been said about birth over the years, Mark Twain said that the two most important days in your life are the day you are birthed and the day you find out why. Hunter S. Thompson said that we are born alone, we live alone and we die alone. Stephen Fry said that when he was born, he looked up to his mother and said that was the last time he was going up one of those.
And as his eyes opened, light shining in rays through glass and reflecting in water, hitting and illuminating tiny particles in front of him. His was a weird term for himself but he couldn’t remember a name, but he could remember all those quotes from English class, it was like a massive bit of memory was missing.
“Finn.” The shark spoke as he opened his mouth, his memories slowly rushing back. And the Outsider guessed as he opened his gills and started to fixate oxygen from the water around, that it was a bit strange that he was birthed again. Finn was pretty sure that all the doctors were correct in saying it only happened once.
“But then why do I remember myself dying?” Finn asked himself putting his hands up to the window, as he looked down and saw the reflection of his arm, the skin seemingly healed, no blood stains. He knew he died, he knew he wasn’t in the Afterlife. Finn had seen the devil and was told he was dead.
Leaning forward, the shark watched as his face reflected on the glass. His face was smoother than it was when he died before. As if nine months of stress had been taken away. And he looked up to his hair, the black strands floating up in the water. A orange glow distracted him, as if a streak of orange was painted through his hair.
Looking back at his arms, Finn saw that all the muscle mass he gained from training with Isaac was gone. Staring forward, the shark knew he had to be in a building. Else he would expect to be surrounded with grass, pushing on the glass, his head turned towards the sun shining through the window above.
The shark turned his head down as he rammed his head on the glass, pushing forward. As he took note of his lack of clothes and what else would be obvious to any bystander. Yet as he twisted his back, he felt something dislodge from his back. It was like a few spikes on his spine and back, the shark ducked his head down and with his feet manipulated himself backwards.
Red floated in the water, it was blood, Finn felt his nose sniff it up but the shark resisted. The whole thing was a circular disk shaped for his back it almost seemed like and the spikes were covered in blood, but connected to them was a tube, the Outsider stood still for a second.
“Well then I suppose if I fuck this up then someone might come for me then, I need information.” Finn grabbed the tube and pulled down on it, the tube dislodged from a whole connecting port at the top of the tank and the shark heard something.
His ears were shielded from it because of the water, but it looked like from the top of his tank an alarm was being set off. Finn felt his feet fins start to be pulled, and the top of his head felt air as his feet touched the ground. And then the glass cover to the tank opened from the bottom.
Finn lost his balance and fell to the ground, water splashing out around him as he looked up. The alarm was ringing loud, surely anyone in a mile radius could hear it. The shark’s mind fled back to that, as he landed on the ground, a smile that light up the whole room appeared.
“Well then what will my parents say, taking a naked man into my house and bathing him, even bringing him back to life. Well I think they might be proud about that one but still, who the devil are you?” Finn turned his head and saw a familiar face, albeit a bit older. Isaac’s smile lit up the whole room, the shark seemingly gaining a few inches and losing his baby fat.
“I don’t know, it seems that you have changed as much as me. But that’s amazing, you actually played god and won.” Finn joked for a second but then the suspension of disbelief left his system, amazing from his emotions filled him. Isaac walked over to a chest and opened it. The taller shark leaned into it and grabbed a pair of clothes.
“I like what you are wearing as well, how long have I been gone.” Finn spoke, his mouth in disbelief as he spoke those words. He shivered, the Outsider feeling the cold touch of death on his shoulder. Everything told him to fall over, but he saw Isaac and he told him to stay up and fight.
Finn grabbed his clothes out of the air, slipping on his blue boxers and then his black cargo shorts followed by the white and blue jacket that he was used to. The shark waved himself around and they seemed a bit thinner for him. Isaac handed over a belt, and Finn smiled, walking up to the shark.
“Well then I think if you’ve gotten this many inches over me, we might have to find a few more sidewalks on Carson City to kiss on.” Finn spoke and Isaac’s eye twitched a bit as he spoke. The shark never lost his cool that much, Isaac stood still for a second and his appearance went back to normal, Finn decided to let it go.
“Well then I can see you’ve been working out as well, I think you will have to help me with muscle mass as well, I hope I won’t be much of a distraction.” Finn spoke as he put his hand on Isaac’s arm, feeling the muscle that the shark had gained. In the interim, Isaac switched out his purple hoodie for a more traditional brown longcoat, seemingly made from thick leather.
The shark wore a pair of jeans, his bionic leg hidden underneath the fabric. Finn turned his head towards it and wondered what had happened, too many questions and not enough answers. The shark just padded his head, and as Finn looked to the side, he was in some sort of military lab.
“What happened to the base?” Finn asked, and Isaac lost his cool again, the shark turned and looked over as two shark walked over. Well a shark and a shargon, the Kagen and Riftwalker stepped forward. Finn held his hands up, blue sparks snapping out of his hand and arcing around the two.
“I’ve been willing for a fight, these two have lost my trust they turned themselves against each other and let themselves be pawned.” Finn threatened them but Isaac simply put his hands down and walked forward.
“But, the Battle for Carson City, all that happened the nanobots, the Kagens and Riftwalkers, all the deaths that must have happened?” The Outsider questioned looking up to Isaac, who nodded at the two. Basil grabbed Bright and the shark opened his right hand and wrapped it around the other. Bright opened his hand and orange energy glowed in his hand.
“The breath of regeneration energy, Bright you helped bring me back.” Finn looked at the two and they smiled.
“We’re sorry but we realized the war was stupid, and we would rather be with each other than fight, I can’t say much more to you because I would be stuck apologizing for my race for hours.” Bright spoke and with a melancholy look on his face, he turned around. Basil followed, their hands interlocked, Bright leaning his head on the other’s shoulder.
“I knew it those two did want to bang!” Finn gleeful said and clapped his hands together, Isaac calmed the shark down. Finn was confused again, what happened to Isaac. He didn’t act like this; he was far happier normally. Finn looked up and leaned up, Isaac had to have about seven inches on him.
“You’re taller, and hotter and nicer then my old boyfriend are you sure you haven’t seen him around here?” Finn asked as Isaac giggled, a smile forming on his face. But it was a smile hiding a lot, Finn could tell that, darkness, death, destruction and surely war. But Isaac held his hand out, and Finn floated up a few inches and was face to face with his shark.
Finn leaned in and grabbed Isaac’s face, pulling himself in and touching Isaac, kissing him. Their lips touching and sparks flying out and arcing around them, Finn didn’t care what had to happen for this, he was glad and putting his hand on Isaac’s head, running it through his hair he felt loved and that was all that mattered for him.
…
“Hello Edison, I think I saw you before the war but things are bit weird in my head right now. The memories and what not are being sorted out.” Finn stood in front of the temporal agent, she quickly pulled her tablet out of her black jacket and held it up to the shark, an amazed look on her face as she scanned the shark.
“Ah Edison are you okay, I know you were a bit of a sceptic but you know how it goes with us O’Neill’s when we want something done we get it done efficiently and on damned time.” Isaac bragged pulling his finger up to his face and smiling, surprising Isaac again. Finn giggled as he walked around the cafeteria of the base, the walls were old, 1980’s old, and their seemed to be some growth, yet soldiers were walking around the base.
“Isaac how the hell did you do this, even with Kagen technology this has to be a once in a lifetime accomplishment but this isn’t happening in other timelines, but in those Finn died of a heart attack, this has to be the main timeline…. of course… I need to retire” Maryam Edison quickly spoke off confusing the two as she walked away the data in her hands surprising even the two.
“Don’t worry she’s a bit weird, but we evacuated from Carson City and had to come here, it’s an old base from the Cold War, this was where the government had a base set up in case of pacific invasion.” Isaac explained as he walked forward with Finn, the sun at this point was lowering in the sky and the shark stared out of the window and into the forest.
“So much must be happening in that forest, I can’t wait until we get out there and start to fight.” Finn commented and looked at Isaac, the taller Outsider getting a nervous look on his face. And then the sharks’ ears perked at the sound of trays being slammed down.
“Well speak of the devil himself, I didn’t think you could do it but I guess I was wrong.”
Finn turned around and took a seat at the surprisingly lunch like table as he stared forward. Iren and Ross both sat down followed by Isaac as they faced each other, Finn looked forward for the second and wondered if this was really such a surprise at all.
“Oh come on this is Isaac we are speaking about, I wouldn’t even put it past him to do more then he could, he probably made me thrice as sexy in his free time because he didn’t want to send me out until he needed me.” Finn commented and gained a nervous laugh from the shark next to him, what secrets were in that laugh?
“Yeah, I definitely say that the orange streak is doing something for me.” Barry spoke as he walked by putting his tray away and then disappearing from the room as quickly as the Komodo came. Finn looked back at the two in front of him, and then another shark walked into the room.
“Ah Tidus glad to have you back as well, I haven’t seen all you in such a long time and I can’t wait to catch up.” Finn gladly spoke, worry hidden in his own head, Isaac was acting stranger than he would usually expect from the shark. But Tidus smiled and jumped forward, landing next to him and hugging the shark.
“Yes I knew that Isaac could do it, I just didn’t think that quickly.” Tidus spoke and the two sharks smiled at each other, blue sparks forming around them. Father and son looked in each other eyes and then nodded.
“I know it’s good to be back as well, any more time loops I should really know about?” Finn asked, and the two smiled, Tidus hugging his father of the same age tight as they connected again. Iren smiled and looking at the happy pair knew that the trouble they had faced was all worth it up to this point.
“Ah now then, I didn’t expect to have such an esteemed visitor to this table today but no reason we can’t talk about it. We have a weapon’s cache tracker in the forest and Isaac basically who do you think should go?” Iren asked as she looked at the shark’s an excited look popping up on Finn’s face.
“Well I mean I have a lot of electricity stored up in body and I think it would be great to try everything out again.” Finn spoke and Iren laughed a bit.
“You just got back here and I think that it would probably be better if you train with Isaac, look how thin your arms are.” The tiger noted as she reached out and practically folded the white jacket back on Finn’s arms. “Mommy got a lot more muscle than you.”
Iren stood up, Finn noted that her appeal changed as well. She had a black tee-shirt and a camo jacket on as well. Maybe for her it was some sort of memento for Michelle, the gun in her pocket certainly didn’t help clear up anything as well, she bent her arms and sure to her word under her orange fur, the tiger had gained muscle as well.
Ross looked over, and he too had changed. He now was wearing a simple jean jacket, not even a tee-shirt under it. Finn felt a bit more overdressed than usual and undid his jacket as he looked at the two. Iren laughed for a moment and then looked back.
“Mary has been getting very good with the whip lately, so I think she can come along and so can you Ross, and I am feeling great with my powers today, so I think I will go.” Iren spoke as she stood up and nodded at Ross, the dragon walking off to grab the scientist before she got lost in data again.
“And you two, well consider this a day off, still some people you missed, Tidus has really missed you and some the soldiers need a figure to look up to. Why not the dead general, go tell them the airport story.” Iren told Finn and she smiled as she walked off. Finn smiled, almost expecting a one-liner from her but she disappeared down the stairs.
“So then how did you do it?” Finn asked as the two of them stood up, he looked into Isaac’s eyes and wanted the truth from him. It didn’t seem normal for the shark to be acting this way, he might have kept secrets but never big lies. “I just need to know, is there something wrong?”
“No, I mean it was sort of easy enough. I had the embryo with you, but that would take sixteen years that we don’t have so with the Kagen regeneration energies, I speed you enough to a formed baby and then used your DNA to make your body think you were seventeen and used the regeneration energy in controlled burst which changed your body back into what you are now.” Isaac quickly babbled off, Finn not understanding and trying to make scene of it all, the shark having completed his little game.
“So then tell me you can tell, me how many citizens died in the siege of Carson City, I’m beginning to realize this might not have been a fair fight for the mortal side of affairs so just tell me how many people died.” Finn asked of the shark, his shark, Isaac looked at Finn and a tear came running down his face.
“Is it bad because I can take bad, you know I can.” Finn begged of the shark and a tear ran down his eye, Isaac grabbed Finn’s hand and wiped it on both of their faces, neither of them could say much about it. Finn grabbed Isaac and pulled him into a hug, holding him tight.
“You know when I started dating you, it was because you knew how to always tell the truth and I don’t want that to end, I can take whatever you have to tell me no matter how bad or how massive the numbers are.” Finn whispered into the ears of Isaac, the sharks smiling as they leaned into each other.
“Fine then but maybe we could go into a place a little more private.” Isaac demanded and Finn nodded.
…
When Isaac said private, Finn imagined a bedroom or a room in general but not the rooftop. The two sat there with their legs leaning off the edge, the forest stood in the distance and outside, Finn shivered. He felt energy before but not like what he imagined from this war. HIs entire body burned with power as he sat outside, the Kagen and Riftwalker effort focused in the forest.
“I can’t see it but I can feel it, if this is the amount of energy that was unleased on Carson City…” Finn started but Isaac simply put his finger on Finn’s mouth, the shark surprising himself by shutting up. The two just sat their silent for a second and didn’t speak at all, Isaac and Finn just feeling the energy from the forest.
“The energy that killed the citizens of Carson City can’t be measured like this, I should know I was carrying your body out of the city, I met up with Edison and a few days later we found out that the military was taking citizens and setting up an illegal base. We found out that the military is corrupt and was being led by General Volgin.” Isaac started.
“What does the military have to do with this? We are working with them; I can see all the troopers below us; am I not right?” Finn asked.
“Well they are deserters and the energy that killed the citizens couldn’t be measured by Kagen or Riftwalker in terms of output.” Isaac lost his cool again, putting his hand to his head and taking another deep breath. Finn knew something was wrong but he wasn’t prepared for what he heard next.
“The energy that dropped on Carson City was measured in megatons.” Isaac admitted and a bit of guilt flew away. But Finn paused as he heard that work, Megaton. It was a measure of atomic energy, a nuke dropped on Carson City, but the military. And he froze.
“Volgin nuked Carson City! My childhood! My house, your house, well the remains of my house and your house and all our memories and where we were going to get married!” Finn yelled out as he stood up, and put his feet on the edge of the building again and grabbed Isaac’s.
“Finn are you okay, I know it’s hard.” Isaac spoke and Finn instantly realized the angst that Isaac felt, the feeling of losing everything.
“Are you okay, you lost everything. But I am here for you and I will always be here for you, no matter what you say or what you do I will believe you did the right thing for me and the Outsiders.” Finn spoke to the shark and Isaac leaned in, a tear running down his face. Finn hugged Isaac again, the shark opening up the emotional flood bays and letting the tears run down his face.
“It’s okay.” Finn spoke as he looked at Isaac, the shark seemingly was taking it with less than stride. Finn remembered the school, it was gone and the restaurant and the square, it was all nuclear radioactive dust. And his stride was gone as well.
“We lost it all.” Finn opened his mouth and tears ran down his face as he let go of Isaac and fell down on to the ground. The building was cold and hard but that was all he had at this point it seemed, leaning back on the roof, Isaac laid down as well.
“We’re travelers and beggars now, we don’t have much to do any more.” Finn mentally collapsed as he looked down to the shark, Isaac looking at the shark and starting to hysterically laugh. Finn put his arm onto Isaac and breathed for a moment, that was what he needed to do, collect his life and put it all back together as best as he could.
“Well I think your wrong because we have the Outsiders, and if there is one thing I know, you saw the faces of Erick and Michelle when they died and would she like you to break down because of one little set back?”
…
“What are you doing brother, kill me, shoot me, get your revenge don’t use that fool’s gold.” Barry cried out and like before one didn’t have to be an empath to call out his bluffing. Erick reached down and looked at the machine, kneeling on the floor he saw that Barry was crawling over, his energy systems disabled. Erick paused, the timer was at one second, if the battery was connected it would go off and Isaac didn’t have dammed reset button.
Time paused for Erick as he looked over and saw the mess of acid on the floor and then he leaned down and put the two adaptors in his hand, any voltage could work, he just needed a little spark to start the reaction and looking to his brother and everything, it told him that it would be worth it.
“Sorry brother, but you need to live and you blasted that battery pack to oblivion, so then I ask the statement. I need energy and who really needs a brain?” And like that Erick grabbed the two adaptors and stuck them to his head. The Komodo smiled as his brother frowned and ran, sparks blasting off his head as he purposefully burned his brain into energy.
…
“Erick gave up his life for me but Michelle was shot, she died in front of me and she gave herself up. She was a sacrifice of war; she was like the citizens and some days I don’t know if I can ever feel un-guilty about the whole situation.” Finn admitted as he looked over to Isaac, his memories of Ross and Billy’s wedding coming back to him all in one go.
“Come on Michelle, this won’t be the first or last death, so come into the light and join us. I’m sure you’d be delighted to meet Molly and Jackson.” Reaching out from the light, a reptilian hand grabbed out. Michelle tried to speak but found herself unable to do so. “Takes a while for the knowledge to transfer, you’ll speak later.”
Erick reached and Michelle looked behind, Finn looked destroyed as he looked down and felt her pulse. Could she go back, could she re-enter and could she try to survive, push herself. Leaning down she just put her hand on her corpse’s, it just barely phasing through.
And then she saw Finn smile for a second, his mouth opened and Michelle realized she wasn’t hearing anything but the sound of static in the background, it was like her ears were stuffed. She stood up and looked down at her body, it was still and lifeless.
“Come with us, sometimes we might have been useful but you will find that life is more interesting on the other side when you can see the spoilers before they are revealed.” Erick grabbed Michelle’s hand the human stood shocked as she looked down and felt something in her head.
“Really he did that.” Michelle suddenly felt her soul relieved everything made sense as she looked back at Finn. She was as free as a bird and she felt like she didn’t need to hide myself. “I can be who I want to be, I can do anything.”
“As is the nature of the afterlife, all you want will be given to you and all you need will be given as well. All is true and all is false, think of all you can meet, Mr. Washington or Mr. Patton.” Erick offer and Michelle nodded, like that she was pulled in and her connection with her body severed. She left her brain, her body a vehicle without someone controlling it.
Finn wasted no time hitting the call button and putting the phone to his head.
“Do it, kill all of the nanobots.” And in the background as he gave the command Isaac looked up to Finn and Tidus looked shocked. Hearing the sound of rockets starting in the background, Finn shut the call and looked away to the window. He was ready to blast everything.
…
“She wanted me to kill them all, and we did. We killed them all but this is different, now we are the nanobots, all of us are dead, who do we have to protect anymore?” Finn contemplated as he looked down to the ground and then to Isaac, the shark smiling.
“Well come with me and come lay down in my bed for a while, I know it can be a lot but just ignore everything even your death.” Isaac spoke. Finn closed his eyes and his memories gathered in front of him, everything congealing together and forming one solid image.
…
Finn felt everything go silent, but loud at the same time. He heard Isaac scream the loudest and like that he felt the ground. The Gen Ones reached down, and stabbed him through the chest, Finn felt the first one and then the second, blood splattered out of his chest and onto his face.
He then felt the entire area go numb, he felt his heart stop beating and his blood stopped flowing. A few more Gen Ones came up and stabbed him, and just moving his head over with what little control he had, Finn saw Joss and then he felt his eyes, close and like that, his soul moved on.
…
“Okay guys keep your eyes open, your ears alert and all your senses as alive as possible, but without PCP use.” Iren drove into the heart of Kagen territory, keeping the jeep slow as it maneuvered between trees on the gravel road, the engine nearly silent and the soldiers are quiet as possible.
Three in fact, Iren knew they were probably the best for the mission in her case as they were the few that appeared in the days after and had been continually training afterwards. Ross and Edison kept silent, the dragon longingly looking out of the window, occasionally putting his hand up and shaping it into the shape of a knife. Edison held her tablet up to the window, scanning for timeline deviations and all that occurred with them.
“Strange it’s like the Kagen War never happened in other timelines, the violence has all but ended but in this one, well I can only see one other timeline and in their the violence is off the charts.” Maryam finally spoke as she looked over to Iren and held up her tablet.
“Maryam don’t do that, I can’t read and drive, keep silent the Kagens have far more sensitive ears then we do. And either way I have no idea what that even means in the long terms of things.” Iren spoke as she slowly brought the car to a brake, looking down at the car dashboard a path was inscribed through a valley.
Iren grabbed the wheel and slowly accelerated, turning off the gravel path and onto a dirt road, the wheels turning to her will. Darkness was the code of the forest here, and as Iren took the car forward slowly, patches of lights ran over the faces in the car.
And then driving forward, a beam of light shined through the windshield and onto the faces of the passenger. Iren applied the brakes and she stopped, a single jeep sitting in the road. Right in the center of the road, high beams shining, and a few occupants inside.
“Shit, they knew we were here! Men arm your guns!” Iren commanded, she lowered the back windows, the soldiers ducking close to the door and sticking their firearms out. The Kagen car rumbled to life and Iren held the brake, her hand on the transmission.
And then she moved, as the car in front accelerated, Iren slipped the car back and the occupants twisted as she backed up onto the dirt and nearly into a tree, switching the transmission again, Iren slammed the gas as she drove forward.
The soldiers aimed backwards and started to open fire on the car, Iren held her foot’s position, giving the car the whole lot as it jumped out of the forest and into a field. Passing the entrance of to the forest, Iren looked around for a road. Looing up she saw their chasers behind her, she kept her foot to the pedal.
Turning the car, Iren kept up as she started to circle around the entire field. The soldiers fired shots, some bouncing off the armor. Iren kept a good distance and then when the moment was right, she smiled, quickly she hit the brakes and pulled the emergency brake. The car twisted around again, but the Kagen group passed by.
“Ha learn to drive asswipes!” Iren shouted at them, quickly she put on chase to them. The soldiers fired forward at the car, but Iren watched as the Kagens opened their windows as well. Kagen faces stuck out of the window and looked out, hands being placed out and a in particular an orange ball of energy worrying her the most.
As the energy blasts flew over the field, dragging the grass behind them, Iren quickly ducked out of the way. And yet it was too late, she braced herself and slowed the car down. The energy blast hit the engine of the jeep and that was all it would spin.
The car spun in the field of grass, Iren closing her eyes and opening them once again as she stopped the car. A purple energy line surrounding the vehicle as it came to a stop in the middle of the field. She backed out of the car, the soldiers following suit as they followed Iren out.
“Okay, we don’t have much to do but we can take this many Kagens, hell I think I can take this many Kagens.” Iren spoke as she stepped forward and looked at the engine. The blast cut right through it and the entire engine was leaking fluids into the grass. “And they’re stopping, men keep fire and keep blasting them with lead!”
Ross stepped up first, as the Kagens came to a stop they walked out of their functional vehicle and formed energy balls in their hands. Ross smiled at the challenges and jumped forward, extending his hands, a metal tint forming as scales stretched out into nanobots and then formed a solid metal blade. Ross’s entire body took on the form as well, glints of bullets firing off from the Kagens.
The dragon jumped forward, opening his wings and shadowing out the sun as he aimed down. A Kagen put his hand up, and Ross knew that the soldier was simply ill-informed about the full extent of his powers. Watching the shark scream as his entire body was sliced in half, kept Ross going as he slammed his foot forward.
Turning he slashed his hand, and knocked away another bullet. It was a Kagen with a tommy gun in his hands. Ross held his hands up and a shield formed, the bullets all knocking off into the grass. And for a little more show, Ross smiled as he held a bullet between his fingers. The Kagen grabbed the magazine but Ross quickly went to work.
The tommy gun was pulled into the air, a purple glow enchanting it as Iren grabbed it. A green blast from the sidelines distracted the solider and Ross slammed his sword forward. The Kagen screamed and the orange glow hit him s well, Ross ran forward and behind the car.
A brown wolf, wearing the Regal Armor of the Kagen blood line, stained in the life of Riftwalkers and his presence alone enough to knock Ross back. The Kagen simply took a step forward and his body flashed forward, Ross’s knife hand being held in the air.
“Oh I’m sorry Outsider but I knew that I should have done my best to properly deal with you, and for me dealing with you will be all the more enjoyable as well to the Kagen empire.” Octavius, High General Octavius. The roman named Kagen held the dragon up into the air.
“Let me go Kagen, you don’t know who you are even properly dealing with in this case, I am the Outsider with nanobots and you should fear me!” Ross screamed as he opened his other hand and formed a hammer, slamming down. And then he screamed in a different fashion, the metal on his hand suddenly turning hot red.
“I’m sorry Outsider, but you don’t know who you are dealing with.” Octavius spoke as he slammed his foot around and knocked the dragon out of his hand and onto the ground. Ross whimpered and Iren stood behind the car, Edison scanning as well as she tried to figure out what was happening in front of her.
“No, we do, because we are the protectors of not Carson City!” Iren screamed as she jumped out from behind the car.
“Obviously, look at the job you did there.” Octavius spoke as he crossed his hands behind his back and took a few steps forward. Iren backed up, becoming flustered as the general approached.
“No, what we are, we are the Outsiders and we are the protectors of not California or Nevada nor the United States, but this Universe!” Iren yelled as she jumped out from behind the car and put her hands forward, the soldiers and then Edison following.
But Octavius sensed that would happen and with his hands behind his back, he snapped them. And as the soundwave travelled from his fingers outwards there was the sound of cheering in the forest, Iren stopped in place and looked around horrified as she looked out and saw Kagens of all shapes and sizes stepping out of the woods and out into the clearing.
With sunlight on their faces, the Kagens were covered in blood from head to toe, their armor worn and capes torn. All species of Kagen took a step forward one at a time and trapped the Outsiders and Iren fell to the ground, a wall of energy forming around her and the Outsiders.
“And that Outsiders is something you will never have against me, you will never have the sheer numbers to deal with our threats and you will succumb to the existence of us gods!” Octavius screamed into the air as the Outsiders were captured.
…
Iren looked around the room she was trapped in, her arms buckled to a metallic chair but open sunlight above her as the roof cracked above. She tried to twist her way out of her bondage but the Kagens had ways of dealing with her powers. A blue bubble covered both hands and as she tried to apply force to something, anything in the room, the bubbles took the blunt of the force.
So, Iren held still as Octavius walked forward and past the old and rotting metal desk took a seat. The desk had no memorabilia or anything of mention, the shelfs nearby covered with dust and seemingly not used any more. Iren thwittled her fingers as she waited for him to speak.
“So then Outsider, I guess the game has changed right now. Your trapped and I have control over your life.” Octavius finally spoke and he looked around. “I figured if you borrowed military technology, we could as well, so we just decided to make use of this base.”
“Ah yes the cold war was a bitch in providing these out to everyone, no one has probably touched these in twenty years.” Iren looked around, the building had to be built in the eighties and surely quickly as for the faulty construction all around her. Surely the designers knew that this building was being used for mostly war time and might be demolished later.
“Ah lady do watch your language around me, and I will ask you one question and one question alone. If you answer correctly, then you and the Outsiders will be allowed to live on to fight the good fight you think you are fighting but if not you and your team will die.” Octavius threatened as he looked at the women in front of him.
“If you think that I will let you do that to me, well think again Octavius. You might be the leader of the Kagens but I think you know that I am far more a threat to you then you to me.” Iren spoke as Octavius rose his hands up into the air and holding it there, a blue light extended over the room.
“Simple question where, is your base and where is Bright?” Octavius asked and Iren thought about that for a few seconds, they were probably ten or so miles away but she wouldn’t let him be told that.
“Oh well they are both at the corner of suck my ass and eat a dick avenue, in case you just forgot.” Iren mocked, and Octavius’s fires burned up to the roof some dust falling from it as the concrete melted. It dripped onto the desk and melted through that as well, Iren backed up and looked around, she was a little more fucked then she imagined herself to be then. Octavius simply smiled and walked forward.
…
“So then Kagens we have a show for you today!” Iren heard the voice of an announcer, but hearing was a bit limited. She felt her body wobble back and forth, and she was still tied to the chair, so she had to be carried by a Kagen and a bag was placed over her head. Iren heard footsteps behind her, surely Kagens carrying her friends as well.
Iren felt her bonds from the chairs broken and she was suddenly slammed into the ground, her felt held in place as she stood still. And then as she stood still afraid at the oncoming events, she took a breath. Breathing focused her mind and her body, at the second she was let go she would fire out a blast of energy.
“Iren where are we?” The Outsider next to her was Ross and then a hand was placed on her head, the bag ripped off. They were outside of the base, they were on a concrete field, two basketball hoops on their sides. Iren looked around, she felt stuck to the grey floor.
The wind blew through her hair, the tiger looking around as she adjusted her jacket with a whip of her neck. Iren looked around, surrounding them was a field of Kagens once again. Octavius smiled and waved from inside the broken military base before disappearing in the shadows again.
Zonate smiled as the dragon stepped forward, his blue eyes shining in the light. A platoon of Kagen soldiers, dressed in blue armor from head to toe, their bodies covered as they rose guns. Energy guns, powerful, Iren’s eyes gazing to them as she wondered what they were for.
“Now then men, take aim and take fire.” Iren tried to speak but she froze, the Kagen men in formation raising their guns. Iren froze as she saw the blue energy gathering, and the tiger stared into the barrel of death and then to Edison, Ross and the soldiers, she froze in place.
…
Finn took a step forward, his body freezing as he looked into the shining sunset glass of the tube he was raised in. Isaac lifted it back onto the body, his body bending. Finn smiling as he watched the jeans on Isaac tighten just in a way that was perfect to him, he wondered how long it was for them.
“So then now that your done staring, maybe you would like to go to bed and have a bit of a sleep, alive again.” Isaac spoke as he turned around, just whipping out his butt for show. Finn smiled at the show in front of him, Isaac. The shark felt his heart beat, it was a once again, not a continuing action.
The shark looked into the mirror of the glass and waved his head, his hair was like it was before just twisted around his head and almost hanging off his head. The shark looked at the orange streak in his hair, it ran from the end of his hair to his root in the middle circling around.
“Yeah one question, what is with the orange streak right through my hair?” Finn finally pointed out, running his hand through. Isaac grabbed his hand and took Finn to the center of the room. Finn looked around wondering what his boyfriend was doing.
“Well I needed to test my gene-splitter for when I reconstructed your DNA with a little help from your body and Tidus, I first needed to just test the machine and make sure it did work, so I just made sure that your hair could be changed, and I created a horrid color, but it will run out eventually.” Isaac spoke as he looked at the shark and held him still.
“You know for all that we can count, as this is a new body for you and me, you are technically still a virgin.” Isaac raised his eyebrows up a little as Finn rolled his but he went along. The shark giggled a lit and Isaac did as well, the two of them standing alone for a second.
“So then are you saying that you missed me, because I wondered if you changed anything else?” Finn asked as he smiled again, Isaac smiled not at the joke but at the white smile on his lover’s face. Isaac held Finn’s hand and looked around at his office, Finn smiling as well.
“Isaac, you know I think that right now that you are most beautiful that you have ever been from your muscles or your body and your attitude.” Finn complemented the shark as he looked back on the sun and Isaac, smiled at him again. Just seeing that Finn’s heart was racing, he felt all emotions at once and he felt amazing and horrified at that moment, he couldn’t lose Isaac.
And Isaac grabbed Finn’s hand and smiled, the shark freezing in place. Isaac simply lowered himself and got down on his knees. Finn froze in place, his hand to his mouth as Isaac reached behind him and into his pocket, a black case and as he put it in his hands, he opened it, a golden ring inside.
“Finn Harris, I have waited so long to say this to you but will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?” Isaac spoke honest and true words, looking up at Finn and smiling, the shark frozen. Isaac looked back, standing up, Finn not moving.
Isaac stood up, Finn’s body seemingly frozen in place. The shark froze in place and then Finn’s eyes blinked, the shark looked back around and tried to figure out if this was a joke. And Finn suddenly yelled out in pain, the shark screaming out, grabbing his chest and falling to the ground.
Isaac froze as he watched Finn’s face turn as pale as possible and he fell to the ground, looking as he watched his hopes and dreams of having the shark he loved back one day. Finn was fading in front of him.
