Here it is, that dopey fish that will be a terror someday! This Magikarp is 3.75 inches/9.5 centimetres long from lips to tail. It's a project I started for practice on more intricate paper mâché pieces. The whiskers let it balance upright without extra support, and also stand on the edge of its tail like it's leaping out of the water.

This has an inner armature of wire and recycled cardboard, covered with many layers of paper soaked in flour paste, and finished with acrylic paint and matte varnish. The paint gave me some trouble but it was a learning experience!
